Keto
Dom D'Agostino on Ketosis - the most googled diet of this year #140 This podcast is with the world's biggest expert in Ketosis - Dom D'Agostino. He's an absolute legend and I'm thrilled to be able to chat to him about so many important aspects of Keto, how to get into it, the benefits and the pitfalls and so on. Thanks Dom! I've been in ketosis for many months. My reasons: Well not weight loss (although I've toned up - he says modestly), but for decreased inflammation, better digestion, improved skin and sharp thinking, And all that is working quite well. I'm really enjoying it, but it takes a month of feeling a little tired (they call it the Keto Flu) when you first get into it. At least that's what happened to me. Want more details? Check out today's podcast.

The one supplement that could change your life? Dr Carolyn Dean #139
If magnesium is so good for us, why don't we ever hear about it from our doctors? Why your daily routine should include magnesium instead of 5 cups of coffee. Don't have a socially awks moment by buying the wrong kind of magnesium! Why is magnesium supplementation so important? It can help with Anxiety and depression, sleep, energy levels, stomach problems, nerve problems and heart issues. And apparently almost all of us are deficient in it. So why aren't we all supplementing with magnesium? Well if you've had problems like the ones mentioned, you might want to listen in. Today's Zestology expert is Dr. Carolyn Dean, the world's foremost expert on magnesium supplementation. She'll explain how magnesium can help with all of the above, and most importantly, what supplements to take and what NOT to take. (Clue: if you go to the store and buy basic magnesium tablets, they may well have an unwanted and socially awks effect. You need the right kind.)

How to get into ketosis instantly (and what even is ketosis?) - Dr. Anthony Gustin #138
Ketosis - I'm not going to lie, it's not easy. It took me a good 6 weeks to feel comfortable with the diet. But now I'm feeling sharp, enjoying not feeling bloated after meals, and even have got rid of the love handles. So I've done a podcast on how to get into keto quickly with an absolute expert in his field - Dr Anthony Gustin. PS - I'm not doing this diet to lose weight. I'm doing it to increase energy, decrease inflammation, and generally feel awesome. But weight loss and toning up has come too. (He says modestly.) Always consult your practitioner before embarking on a new diet - especially ketosis which does require some adjustments in terms of supplements.

The 5am Miracle (sounds like hell to me!) with Jeff Sanders #137
Question - what is the first thing you do when you wake up? If you're like the majority of people, it may well be checking your phone. Okay, okay, I'm happy to admit occasionally that's me too. Thing is, it turns out that filling your brain with your Facebook feed/emails/pictures of fluffy dogs on instagram isn't necessarily the best thing for your brain. Jeff Sanders is the author of a bestselling book called 'The 5am Miracle'. And he reckons that if we get up at 5am (whoaa), we'll all be properly on it and achieve more, be happier, and so on. It sounds like a kind of hell to me, but I'm keeping an open mind in the interview. He someone who massively values energy, so I'm willing to listen to what he has got to say. Listen now, ready for your 5am alarm call tomorrow. Hmmm, maybe.

Biohacking your daily routine - Ryan Munsey #136
Biohacking what is it? Why do I bang on about biohacking What I've been up to recently and my latest obsession My mates sometimes take the mickey out of me for using the word biohacking. That's okay. I am quite easy to take the mickey out of! But Biohacking can be quite an interesting way of improving your energy, wellness, performance and athletic levels. What is biohacking? There are probably plenty of fancy explanations for what biohacking is. Let me try a simpler one. Biohacking is about tweaking your diet and lifestyle to be the best version of yourself. Here's a good article about biohacking. I've used biohacking to get healthier, focus more effectively and lots more stuff. So I wanted to do a podcast about it with this fella. A former fitness model, Ryan Munsey has created and sold a performance training facility (House of Strength), written for leading fitness publications (Men's Fitness, T-Nation, EliteFTS) is a member of the Men's Health Fitness Council, and spends his days as the Chief Optimizer at a well known supplement company leading the way in brain health and optimization. Listen to us geek out on today's interview on Zestology. Have a great weekend and if you have any good biohacks, let me know.
