The Empire Club of Canada Presents: Ian Russell, President and CEO, Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) With Getting the Facts: What Clients Actually Value and Demand from Financial Advisors lan Russell is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Industry Association of Canada, a position he has held since its inauguration in April 2006. Prior to his appointment at IIAC, Mr. Russell headed the Industry Relations and Representation group of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada. In his 20 year tenure at the Association, he has many committees and working groups involved in regulatory and tax issues related to the securities industry and capital markets in Canada. He is a frequent columnist in industry publications and is a presenter and speaker on industry issues and developments. This past June, Mr. Russell was appointed Chairman of the Standing Committee on Regulatory Affairs at the International Council of Securities Associations. Mr. Russell has an honours degree in economics and business from the University of Western Ontario, and a postgraduate degree from the London School of Economics. He has completed the Partners, Directors and Officers Qualification Examination and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute. The Empire Club of Canada Presents:  Former Ambassador Ken Taylor In Conversation With Senator Pamela Wallin Ken Taylor, a graduate of University of Toronto, Victoria, B.A. and the University of California Berkeley M.B.A., joined the Canadian Foreign Service in 1959. His assignments ranged from Guatemala, Detroit, Pakistan, London, Ottawa, Tehran and New York. He resigned from the diplomatic service in 1984 to join Nabisco Brands, RJR Nabisco as Senior Vice President International. He formulated and implemented polices to strengthen the $21 billion company's international presence. Following change of control of the company in 1989 he has served either in an advisory capacity as a director for a number of companies both in Canada and abroad. On return from his posting in Iran as Canadian Ambassador during the revolution he received the United States Congressional Gold Medal, The Order of Canada and the key to the city of New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Dallas. From 1998 to 2004 he served as Chancellor of Victoria University in The University of Toronto. He has recently visited Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Sudan, China, London, Paris, Moscow, Colombia and Mexico on behalf of business interests. Ken Taylor resides in New York but visits Canada frequently. Moderator: The Hon.
