Blake Hutcheson, President and CEO, Oxford Properties Group Blake Hutcheson is the President and CEO of Oxford Properties Group and is responsible for overseeing the global business, consisting of approximately 21 billion dollars of assets under management and 1,400 employees in Canada, Europe and the USA. Prior to taking this appointment, Mr. Hutcheson was based in New York as the Head of Global Real Estate Investing for a multi strategy private equity firm, with offices in New York, London, Hong Kong and Mumbai. Prior to that, Mr. Hutcheson was the Chairman and President of CB Richard Ellis Canada from 1999 to 2008, and Latin America from 2001 to 2008, overseeing all operations in multiple countries with over 2.500 employees. Mr. Hutcheson has also served on several boards and committees including: Director of Algoma Central Corporation; Chair of Build Toronto, Chair of the Mayor of Toronto's Fiscal Advisory Committee; President of the University Club of Toronto, Director of RealNet Canada, Director of REALpac and Chair of the Canadian Real Estate Forum. Mr. Hutcheson is a long time member of YPO and WPO and was selected as one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, the London school of Economics, England and Columbia University, New York.  Stephen Diamond, President and CEO, Diamond Corp Stephen Diamond is President and CEO of Diamond Corp, a Toronto based land development company actively engaged in the acquisiti development of real estate. Diamondcorp manages the Whitecastle New Urban Fund and the recently launched Whitecastle New Urban Fund 2. Prior to the creation of Diamondcorp, Stephen served as partner at the law firm McCarthy Tétrault where he was head of the Municipal Law and Planning Group and also served on the Board of Directors. Stephen sits on the board of directors of Sunnybrook Hospital, and is Director of Whitecastle Investments Ltd. He is also actively involved in a number of community organizations including the Partnership to Advance Youth Employment, a City of Toronto initiative with a mandate to increase economic opportunities for youth. Paul J. Bedford RPP, FCIP, Principal, Paul Bedford and Associates Paul Bedford is a Member and Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners with over 40 years of experience in urban planning. As Toronto's Chief City Planner for eight years, he championed numerous innovative planning strategies including the Kings, a new City wide Official Plan and a principles plan for the Central Waterfront called Making Waves. Since his retirement in 2004, he has been appointed Adjunct Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Toronto and Ryerson University. The Empire Club of Canada Presents: Justin Trudeau, Candidate for the leadership of the Liberal Party Justin was first elected to Parliament in the Montreal riding of Papineau in 2008, defying political insiders who believed that a federalist candidate would have little chance against an incumbent member of the Bloc Québécois. In the past five years, he has worked tirelessly to represent an electoral district where close to 50 percent of voters' mother tongue is neither French nor English. For Justin, the people of Papineau exemplify Canada's rich diversity, evolving identity, and the struggle for equality of opportunity. He has served the hard working middle class families and small businesses of his constituency who, in recent years have faced economic challenges. He has worked alongside local community organisations by bringing together different cultures and religions, and establishing local initiatives on social issues, the environment, and the arts. As a Member of Parliament, Justin has had many responsibilities including the Liberal Party Critic for Youth, Post Secondary Education, Amateur Sports, Multiculturalism, Citizenship and Immigration. Furthermore, he previously sat on the Parliamentary committee on the Environment and Sustainable Development and Citizenship and Immigration. A member of the Socialist Party, Jean Marc Ayrault was the Mayor of the city of Nantes, Loire Atlantique, from 1989 to 2012. He was also the leader of the Socialist Party in the National Assembly for three terms between 1997 and 2012. Mr. Ayrault started his political career as the Mayor of Saint Herblain, Loire Atlantique, from 1977 to 1989. In 1976, he was elected as General Councillor of Loire Atlantique, a position that he held until 1982. He served as representative of the Loire Atlantique departement to the National Assembly from 1986 to 1988 and as representative of Loire Atlantique's third constituency from 1988 to 2012. In 1992. Mr. Ayrault was elected President of the agglomerated area of Nantes Métropole. In 2001, he was elected of the Urban Community of Nantes Metropole. He left this position in May 2012 to take office as Prime Minister. Mr. Jean Marc Ayrault has a degree in German and a CAPES degree, which is a French degree by virtue of which he can teach German. Mr. Ayrault has been married to Brigitte Terrien since 1971. He earned his MD at Toronto in 1978, followed by a D Phil at Oxford where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. The Empire Club of Canada Presents: Piers Handling, Director and Chief Executive Officer, TIFF With TIFF Takes on the World Piers Handling is the Director and Chief Executive Officer of TIFF. He has held this position since 1994, responsible for leading both the operational and artistic growth of the organization. TIFF has a $33 million annual operating budget and employs more than 150 full time staff. For the last four years, TIFF has been named one of the Greater Toronto Area's Top Employers. Under Handling's direction, the organization has grown to become an internationally institution. In 2010 TIFF opened its own permanent home which presents daily programming. TIFF Bell Lightbox, houses five cinemas, two exhibition galleries, and educational and learning studios. He led the $196 million fundraising campaign. Handling has curated numerous film retrospectives and presented programmes of Canadian cinema at The Sundance Film Festival, the British Film Institute, the Havana Film Festival and sat on festival juries including Cannes, Tokyo, Rotterdam, San Sebastian, Torino, and Istanbul. Prior to joining the Toronto International Film Festival in 1982, Handling began his career at the Canadian Film Institute, ultimately becoming Deputy Director. After leaving the CFI, he taught Canadian cinema at Carleton University in Ottawa and Queen's University in Kingston. He has published extensively on Canadian cinema and edited numerous books. Handling has been honoured with the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, France's highest cultural insignia. In 2003, he was named CEO of the Year by the Canadian Public Relations Society.
