Msa National The Search For The Sound Of The Soul
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan delves into the topic of fitrah and how it is not something that is sound after one becomes a Muslim. All human beings enjoy a predisposed sense of decency that Allah put and preprogrammed in all of us, a sense of commitment to truth, to fairness, to mercy, to courtesy, respect for others, of gratitude, of appreciation, of having regard. These are things that aren’t just some things Muslims are concerned with; these are things that humanity was gifted with. And these are things that the Prophet ﷺ excelled in even before the revelation started coming to him. He was already at the height of his fitrah.
But the fitrah, which is the subject matter of this session, is under attack, and that we are building an artificial picture of Islam, personally for ourselves and our communities. The fitrah is constantly under attack in the air we breathe today.
We should seek help from Allah to preserve our fitrah and nurture it, and pray to Allah to give us the tools and the ability and the commitment to combat the attack against this great gift that Allah has given to all of humanity and that he has charged this Ummah with, not only of protection but in refreshing it in the rest of mankind.

Not Losing Sight
In this khutbah, ustadh Nouman Ali Khan responds to the attacks made on our prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) in recent times through the wisdom of a 3- ayat passage of surah Ash Shuraa, the 42nd surah of the quran. To the audience he speaks to he (PBUH) already has certain favorable factors that can ease the task for him.
Even before Prophethood, he was seen as a man of noble character by the Quraysh, which would make accepting what he had to say easier for them.
He was given the Quran. He delivered a perfect message ( predrafted by Allah swt Himself ) at perfect instants to the people.
But even so, nearly a decade goes by, and nothing changes.
In these ayat Allah Himself tells rasulullah (PBUH) that what he has to say is too difficult for them to accept and its too big a deal for the mushrikun to change. All the while, the muslims in Makkah are optimistic about the people of the Book in Madina. They are in hope that the Qurans message resonates with the imaan already present in their hearts. In this Makki passage, Allah reveals to them that ' it was after Knowledge came to them, that they fell in disagreement because of their will to dominate over another and be in division' . Further , all hope in future generations is lost when it is revealed that ' they are lost in doubt'.
Whats amazing about these ayat is that here it is Allah swt Himself listing out the reasons for why the Prophet's (PBUH) mission is an impossible one.But why Allah does that and what advice Allah gives rasulullah (PBUH) is life changing and timeless.
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan has stated the need of the hour- For the muslims to stay focussed and not to give into distractions. How should we be the 'Force of positive change' and what should we really be worried about are some urgent questions addressed in this khutbah.

Al-Furqan Being Peaceful and Grateful
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan shares with us a few Ayaat that belong to a very powerful Surah and a short Surah relatively of the Quran, Suratul Furqan. What do we derive from this Surah? Benefitting from the reminder and being grateful. These are the two things that Allah highlights in this Surah.
We are acquainted with the prominence of Sajdah and its revelation in the Qur'an. Allah SWT revealed the Ayat of Sajdah. When a Muslim is to recite it, he is supposed to fall in Sajdah.
The next facet of interest in the lecture is why is it so understandable, that in our Deen, Allah SWT and His Messenger SAW, has instructed us whatever good things we commence doing, we should start with—Bismillahir Ar Rahmanir Rahim. When we just say Bismillahir Ar Rahmanir Rahim—the things we are about to do will be done expecting from Allah to put more good out of them, bring more good out of them, than we could have expected ourselves.
Of course, this can only be fathomed by that Muslim who understands the significance of being grateful and what it means to appreciate good. So we have to become people of conscience, of sensitivity so that Allah SWT makes us a people of Qiam and make Sujood in the middle of the night.
