Iman Vs Propaganda
There are many lessons to learn from the story of Prophet Musa (AS) and his confrontation with Pharaoh as recounted in Surah Taha. When Allah charged Musa to face Pharaoh and free the Israelites, says Nouman Ali Khan, Pharaoh had already launched a propaganda campaign against him. His counter message was that Musa and his brother Harun were magicians who wanted to drive you out of your land and that you must defend our way of life because it is the best and doesnât need any improvement. In short he sold the people an artificial patriotism that only benefitted him and his small clique. Yet despite the odds and despite his fear, Musa confronts Pharaoh and overcomes him. This is a reminder that propaganda has always existed and that politicians instilling fear of an imaginary enemy is nothing new. The Quran has taught us about that so we would be mentally prepared. Donât feel intimidated and know that this is a test of your eman.

The Quranic Essence Of Parenting
Quranic examples of parent-child relationships shed light on many issues that plight Muslim families all over the world today, says Nouman Ali Khan. While the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose father built idols that he destroyed, reminds us that imaan is not only influenced by the environment in which we are raised, that of Nuh (AS) and his son teaches us that even if you are a Prophet, you may end up with a child who refuses to accept Allahâs message. Although we have a responsibility towards our children, we have no control over the results. Allah has endowed all human beings with the ability to think for themselves which means that once your child reaches adulthood, he/she will have to make their own choices. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) famously told his daughter Fahemah that she should fear Allah because she will have to stand before Him at her own merits, for even he cannot intervene on her behalf. Risking our spiritual and emotional relationship with our children can be avoided if we take a cue from Luqman (AS) who waited for the right circumstances to lecture his son about religion. And to sons and daughters, beware because the crimes you commit against your parents will only lead to perpetual loss and agony both in this life and the next.

Money Matters
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan delves into the matters of money with the help of the Surah Al Isra in the Noble Qur'an. These ayahs show us how Allah gives us guidance on how we should think about shopping and spending our money.
Allah is exceedingly forgiving. Inside the word, 'awwaab ' is the idea that we are never going to stop making mistakes. There is always going to be something we could have done better and we have to recognize that in ourselves and then we have to keep making Istaghfar to Allah for the shortcomings that we have. we have to be constantly aware of our own flaws instead of waiting for somebody else to point out what is wrong with us. We should be the first one to point out what is wrong with ourselves and constantly keep coming back to Allah. So we recognize our mistakes and that we ask Allah to cover our mistakes.
Miskeen is a deeper concept which means that when someone who is not able to help themselves when they are in an economic or political turmoil. Allah has said for us not to spend our money wastefully. By adopting this ideology, we will have achieved the incredible Hikmah of the Qur'an.

Choices In Relationships
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan beautifully shares with us some very basic things about relationships within the family and some widespread issues which are plaguing all families Muslim or not. There is a major misconception that we as Muslims are somehow immune from the problems of the modern world. This is nothing but a mere deception.
the first topic of discussion in this regard is about education. What is that we consider a good education and why do people get an education? The two fundamental reasons for which people pursue an education nowadays is either to get a career or to gain some respect in society. Further discussions ensue which makes for a very interesting listen.
The next topic that is touched base upon is that of parenting skills in society. How to raise our children and how do we openly communicate with them and that forms the focus of the next part of the lecture. Another topic that generates ample interest is that of marriage which deserves an intent listen too.

Our Relationship With The Quran
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan acquaints us with some blessings from the beginning of Surah Kahf. he also shares some insights that some great scholars of the past have had with this remarkable Surah.
It’s part of the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ and part of the tradition, where different ahadith have mentioned reading either part of Surah Kahf, or all of it, before the Friday prayer (Jum’ah). Of the various instructions and teachings of the Prophet ﷺ, is the idea that this Surah has to do with protecting us from the Fitna of Dajjal. So it has something to do with protecting us from future troubles and difficulties.
In the very beginning of this Surah, Allah offers a really interesting warning, after describing the greatness of the Qur'an. What is that warning?
Allah goes on to tell His Messenger ﷺ that - “Is it a possibility that you will worry so much that it will destroy yourself, thinking about their consequences.” And the Prophet ﷺ is so worried about these consequences that Allah is telling him that he is worrying so much that he will almost kill himself out of grief.
Allah says at the beginning of this surah, ‘All praise and gratitude belong to Allah that sent upon His slave the ultimate/final book. And He didn’t leave any crookedness/deviation/room for criticism or attack in this book.’ an elaborate explanation for the same is also shared and makes for quite an interesting listen.
Quran itself is a conversation between Allah and every person. And that’s the first step in us fixing ourselves as an Ummah – to once again engage Allah in a perfect conversation, to become more connected with Allah, especially in our Salah. The Quran is not just a book about Haram and Halal; it’s not just about Jahannam and Jannah. No scholar, no Imam is going to talk about the Quran so as to give us the beauty when Allah himself says something. When Allah says it, it has a different effect.
