The Root of All Success with The Real Jason Duncan
The Real Jason Duncan
I'm Jason Duncan. I've built 14 businesses, exited 5, and nearly lost everything because the most profitable one couldn't run a single week without me. Now I help entrepreneurs make sure that doesn't happen to them. People call me America's Exit Coach. I built The XOS Method™ and The Exiter Club™ to prove there's a better way than grinding until you break or selling too cheap.
On The Root of All Success, I sit down with entrepreneurs and business owners who've built something real — and I get the full story. What they got right, what almost destroyed them, and the lessons that don't show up in the highlight reel. I also bring in guests from outside the business world when they've got something worth hearing, and I occasionally go solo when I've got something on my mind that won't wait.
I'm a Nashville guy. Married 30+ years to my high school sweetheart. Father of two grown kids. I ride motorcycles, travel in an RV, and take my faith seriously. My life is what I teach: build something worth having, then actually go live.

350. How A Tech Executive Built Nashville's Bitcoin Revolution
Most people trust the system to manage their money. Rod Roudi walked away from tech to build Bitcoin Park and is now redefining financial freedom in Nashville.
In this special episode of The Root of All Success, recorded live at The Standard Club in front of the Leadership Society, Jason Duncan sits down with Rod Roudi, co-founder of Bitcoin Park (a mission oriented community campus for Bitcoiners), builders, and freedom fighters. After hosting one meetup that grew from 15 people to 150 in four months, Rod left his safe tech career to bet everything on permissionless money and provable scarcity.
Rod breaks down why Bitcoin is "freedom money," how it outperforms gold on divisibility, verifiability, portability, and scarcity, and why merchants should stop paying 3% to Visa when that could go straight to their bottom line instead.
This conversation dives into:
•The rainy night at Jackalope Brewery that started with 20 people and changed everything
•How Bitcoin meetups grew from 15 to 100 to 150 people in just four months
•Acquiring Florida Georgia Line's old campus in Hillsboro Village for Bitcoin Park
•Why Rod left a safe tech job for a mission-oriented life he could be proud of
•Bitcoin 101: Freedom money that preserves future purchasing power better than any asset
•The $100 remittance story: How Western Union takes $58 before gangs take the rest
•Comparing Bitcoin vs. Gold across 5 metrics: divisibility, acceptability, verifiability, portability, scarcity
•Why 21 million Bitcoin is provable scarcity vs. gold's unknown supply
•How you can verify the entire Bitcoin blockchain yourself with free open-source software
•The magic internet money protocol missing from the internet: Bitcoin
•Why your $1.93 Starbucks coffee now costs $3.57 (and Bitcoin fixes this)
•The 10,000 Bitcoin pizza story: How 2 pizzas in 2010 now buys a $300k house in Bitcoin
•Why merchants lose 3% to credit cards and how Bitcoin returns that to their bottom line
•Defining fiat: Printable money by centralized governing bodies with no supply cap
•Bitcoin as the money protocol for 8 billion people (you can't invest in SMTP or FTP, but you can own Bitcoin)
•Creating an "Orange Zone" in Nashville: Bitcoin-educated community building generational wealth
•Senators Hagerty & Blackburn, Governor Lee, and Tennessee's crypto-friendly leadership
If you're an entrepreneur tired of losing 3% to payment processors, skeptical about Bitcoin but curious, or ready to preserve your future purchasing power in a world of inflating fiat — this episode will challenge everything you thought you knew about money.

In August 2021, Rod and his friend Mills hosted their first Bitcoin meetup at Jackalope Brewery in Nashville. Within four months, meetups were drawing 150+ people. Bitcoin Park is 80% free and open to the public, hosting meetups on Bitcoin 101, custody, mining, privacy-preserving acquisition, and more. 349. Why Hundreds Of Lawyers Are Leaving Law For Better Careers
Most people stay miserable in careers they hate. Casey Berman walked away from law 20 years ago and built a half-million-dollar coaching business helping hundreds of unhappy attorneys do the same.
In this episode of The Root of All Success, Jason Duncan sits down with Casey Berman, former attorney, entrepreneur, speaker, and founder of Leave Law Behind, a nationally recognized coaching platform. Casey left legal practice in 2004 and spent years in consulting, operations, and running a family investment bank before realizing burnt out lawyers needed a roadmap out.
Casey breaks down why the legal profession is deeply tied to identity, how a single thank you email turned free coffee meetings into a six figure business, and the exact three-step system he uses to help attorneys transition into careers they actually love, without ads, funnels, or venture capital.
This conversation dives into:
Why lawyers can't admit they're unhappy: ROI on law school, parental approval, student debt
Casey's 2004 exit from San Francisco tech law
How free coffee meetings turned into a business idea
The email that changed everything: "I wouldn't have this job without you"
Landing 3 clients at $750 each and scaling to $500k without ads
The 3-step Leave Law Behind framework
Why "I can't do anything but law" is false
Real career pivots from law

Why lawyers struggle to change careers
Mental health challenges in legal practice
How lawyers have transferable skills
Why informational interviews beat job applications
If you're a burnt out attorney, a professional feeling trapped, or an entrepreneur learning how to build a coaching business organically, this episode will show you the exact steps to escape and rebuild.

Who is Casey Berman?
Casey Berman is a former attorney, entrepreneur, speaker, and founder of Leave Law Behind, a coaching platform that helps unhappy lawyers transition into fulfilling non-legal careers. After graduating from UC Berkeley (Go Bears!) and UC Law San Francisco, Casey practiced technology law in San Francisco during the dot-com boom for about 5 years before leaving in 2004.
After leaving law, Casey spent years in consulting, operations, and running a family investment bank and fashion company while figuring out his "unique genius." In 2007, his law school's career services office started sending unhappy students to meet him for coffee. By 2009, after receiving a life-changing thank you email from someone he'd helped, Casey formalized his coaching practice.
He threw a dinner party at his dad's North Beach office in San Francisco, invited 25 lawyer friends, and landed 3 clients at $750 for three sessions. One of them, Gabe Rothman, became a rising star in San Francisco tech. Casey has since helped hundreds of attorneys leave law and has scaled Leave Law Behind to over $500,000 in annual revenue — entirely through organic SEO, blogging, free resources, and word of mouth (no paid ads).
Leave Law Behind has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Guardian, and Above the Law. Casey splits his time between Maui and San Francisco with his wife and two kids.

Jason shares how he made $250,000 in 7 days selling a coloring book that didn’t exist yet, why he targeted TikTok influencers with 500 followers instead of 50,000, and how frustration with slow, overpriced packaging led him to build an 8-figure manufacturing company without venture capital.

347. How Cocaine Addiction Led One CEO To Meet God
Most people hide their addiction until it destroys them — Kellan Fluckiger spent $3,000 a week on cocaine while testifying before Congress, then flatlined in an ICU and met God at the door.
In this episode of The Root of All Success, Jason Duncan sits down with Kellan Fluckiger, a former energy executive turned coach, author of 30+ books, billboard-charting choir performer, and founder of The Ultimate Life Formula. After hiding cocaine addiction and depression for 30 years while working at the highest levels of government and industry, Kellan experienced a divine intervention in 2007, quit cold turkey, and walked away from millions in contracts. In 2018, he died in the ICU for 17 days — and what happened at that doorway changed everything.
Kellan shares how severe childhood abuse created the “I’m not good enough” belief that fueled decades of overachievement and self-destruction, his 18-hour out-of-body life review of pain he caused and received, and the four truths God gave him about purpose and mission.
This conversation dives into:
• How childhood abuse created a lifelong “prove I’m good enough” addiction
• Spending $3,000/week on cocaine while running energy operations and testifying before Congress
• The 2007 divine intervention and 18-hour life review
• Quitting cocaine cold turkey after hearing “it is enough”
• Meeting his wife Joy at a Yo-Yo Ma concert when God said, “You need to marry this woman. Tonight.”
• Walking away from millions in contracts without knowing what came next
• The 2018 near-death experience: flatlining in the ICU for 17 days
• Standing at the doorway with God and being asked, “Do you want to come home?”
• A vision of infinite domains (like the movie Contact with Jodie Foster)
• Four truths brought back from death: You’re divine. You have a mission. You have gifts. Help is available.
• Why God said “Because you don’t believe,” when asked why people settle
• The Book of Context framework for eliminating limiting beliefs
• God’s final question before returning: “Are you sure?”
• How “context straitjackets” (BDEEP: Beliefs, Definitions, Experiences, Expectations, Perceptions) limit us
• Why success isn’t what you accumulate — it’s what you make of yourself
• His refusal to give up: “I friggin won’t stop.”
If you’re battling hidden addiction, stuck in “not good enough” patterns, or wondering if transformation is possible after decades of pain — this episode will challenge everything you thought you knew about redemption and purpose.

Who is Jennifer Payeur?
Jennifer Payeur is a healer, educator, entrepreneur, and founder of Nature Provides and Divine Health Alliance. After spending 29 years in financial services — including leading high-performance teams in the private bank at JP Morgan — Jen received a stage four cancer diagnosis with only a 23% chance of survival even with conventional treatment.
Instead of chemotherapy, Jen turned to gemotherapy: ancient plant stem cell remedies harvested from tree buds in the pristine Italian Alps. Within nine years, she not only healed herself but reversed aging dramatically — now at 60, she says she feels 30.
Jen is the author of Ancient Plant Wisdom and co-producer of the award-winning documentary Nature Provides, which has won 18 film festival awards including three at Cannes. She serves as Chairman of the Board for the Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health, working alongside Dr. Nasha Winters to advance terrain-based cancer care.
She studied with the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers at the Center for Sacred Studies, where she learned that plants are our elders, the original medicine of the planet, and possess over 20 senses compared to our five. Jen now uses her intuitive connection with plants to guide clients through personalized healing protocols.
Nature Provides offers 80+ single plant remedies and 35-40 custom complexes for everything from lymphatic health to blood pressure, bone health to cancer support — all based on the principle that plants don't just mask symptoms, they bring the body back into balance and coherence.

Diane Canada is a national TV commentator, podcast host, speaker, and author of the Lady Up America book series, with her third book Lady Up in These Last Days releasing in Spring 2026. She's a frequent panelist on Newsmax, News Nation, Scripps News, and Fox News, where she provides conservative Christian commentary on cultural and political issues.
After losing her brother to the mental scars of war from his service in Afghanistan, Diane ran for Tennessee State House in 2020. 341: Why Most People Never Become Who They’re Meant to Be ft. Shawn Anthony
Most people don’t fail because of lack of talent —
they fail because they never fully commit to who they’re becoming.
In this episode of The Root of All Success, Jason Duncan sits down with Shawn Anthony, host of the School of Self Image podcast and a voice for personal responsibility, mindset mastery, and self-belief.
Shawn breaks down why identity — not strategy — is the real driver of success, and how most people stay stuck by outsourcing belief, confidence, and direction to the world around them.
This conversation dives into:
• Why self-image determines your income, habits, and outcomes
• How to stop waiting for permission and start owning your path
• The discipline required to trust yourself when results lag
• Why clarity beats motivation every time
• What it really takes to become the person success requires
