When should you trademark your brand or product when considering public relations?
Get Noticed! Send a text.If you are building a brand, and it's not protected, you are leaving your company exposed on 2 fronts; you are ignoring a source of potential revenue but you are also in danger of building the brand for someone else to take it from you. This is a trailer for the full show.On this show I share about the trade mark protection process which I am undertaking for the SPEAK|pr program of masterminds, including this podcast which now is in the top 20% of all podcast shows (according to Libsyn rankings). I share considerations for any business owner to register their trade marks and the costs of doing so; along with some cautionary notes on not doing so e.g. Apple had to pay $60 million for the iPad trademark in China because another entity had registered it first. Key point to remember: Intellectual property works on “first to file” basis (whoever protects it first gets the rights). mention these firms which can help with global IP protection: AbelImray and Rouse.About the show:SPEAK|Pr is for business owners to unlock the value in their business brought to you by entrepreneur Jim James. How to take the stress out of returning to school in COVID times.
Get Noticed! Send a text. There are some simple ways that schools can keep everyone calm during COVID times, and that is by using the same techniques companies use for crisis management. In this episode, I will share best practice deployed by corporations and also from my experiences of how the schools in China handled the daily crisis of pollution impacting schools. There is plenty of documentation online to help prepare. In the UK the Government has developed the Digital Resilience Framework and publishes guidance to schools, and schools too are sharing openly like Singapore the American School. I share the work being done by the Girls Day School Trust which is using Issu online magazine software to share information.Crisis management is all about continuity, and I share practical guidance on how to create timed, structured and coherent plans for schools and other organizations as we head back to school and work, and show our kids that we've got this crisis under control; relax and have fun.Trailer for the full show hereAbout the host:SPEAK|Pr is for business owners to unlock the value in their business brought to you by entrepreneur and Founder of EASTWEST Public Relations Jim James. If you like this podcast, then subscribe to our newsletter herePlease visit our blog post on PR for business please visit our site:https://www.eastwestpr.com/blogs/Find us on Twitter @eastwestprSupport the show (https://www.eastwestpr.com/podcast-speakpr)Support the showSubscribe to my free newsletterhttps://www.theunnoticedentrepreneur.com/

How can a University build a loyal and vibrant alumnus when students can't get to campus?
Get Noticed! Send a text.Dedicated platforms provide the solution to building tribes. One example is that they enable education institutions to overcome the financial pressures being felt as students start to question the costs of education when they can't go to class, meet their lecturers and simply take online classes. The answer lies in community marketing. In this episode, I look at Hivebrite , Tribe.so and in cursory fashion at Honeycommb which offer organizations platforms to facilitate community building. I raise this as part of public relations because in my view there are 3 audiences for PR; internal, partners, external. At this time internal audiences need an entirely different approach to communications and community building.Trailer for the full show hereSPEAK|Pr is for business leaders to unlock the value in their organization using effective communications and is hosted by entrepreneur Jim James. If you like this podcast, then subscribe to our newsletter herePlease visit our blog post on PR for business please visit our site:https://www.eastwestpr.com/blogs/Find us on Twitter @eastwestprSupport the showSubscribe to my free newsletterhttps://www.theunnoticedentrepreneur.com/

5 tips to get you on air with your local radio station.
Get Noticed! Send a text.Video didn't kill the radio star; it went digital instead! Robert Pittman, CEO of iHeartMedia, said, “Radio is about keeping you company, while on-demand music is about escaping from everyone else."
