On September 9, 2001, Darren Hibbs had a dream that prophesied the tragedy that would happen two days later in NYC. He wrote about this encounter in a book, titled, “The Year of the Lord’s Favor.” In it he shares that experience, as well as subsequent ones that spell out specific messages he received. William Lane Craig is streaming in to talk about the Creation story. Craig is an American analytic philosopher and Christian theologian, historian, and apologist. He holds faculty positions at Talbot School of Theology and Houston Baptist University. Craig is know for his  Kalam cosmological argument for the existence of God. Also He has also published work where he argues in favor of the historical plausibility of the resurrection of Jesus. In this episode He Is looking back to the Beginning to discuss His understanding of Genesis.  Michael and Josh discusses Craigs’ view of Genesis, as well as a number of topics surrounding the issue.  The discussion deals with the age of the earth, with both young earth or old earth views are touched on. Most interesting his view of the creation of man which the scientific view as well as classical theological understanding  are uniquely integrated in Craigs’ thought. Amillennialism with Dr. Sam StormsIn this episode, Dr. Sam Storms discusses the Amillennial perspective of the end times. He begins by clarifying that “Amillennial” is a bit of a misnomer – since he does, in fact, believe in a Millennium. It just looks different than the “literalistic” view of Historic Premillennialism. On that note, he talks through the hermeneutic to employ when interpreting apocalyptic literature—how do we know when to understand things literally or figuratively? Dr. Storms responds to the major objections to Amillennialism, he explains in detail why he is not Premillennial, and he makes a biblical case for Amillennialism. All of this is couched in his own personal journey away from Premillennialism (which his seminary taught strongly) and toward Amillennialism. If you’re interested in the end times and want to understand the biblical teaching more, you won’t want to miss this episode. Guest Dawson Jarrell discusses Sabbath observance in relation to the new testament and different Christian views throughout history. They explore 4 views of Sabbath observance, the relationship between idolatry and sin, arguments for following the Sabbath, interpreting the law through a gospel lens, the fulfillment of the Sabbath in Christ, and the history of Sabbath practice in the early church.

In this episode of Remnant Radio, Joshua Lewis and Michael Rowntree will talk to Matthew Esquivel about “contemplative prayer”.  Matthew will explain contemplative prayer as understood by two spiritual heavyweights in church history; Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross. Using scripture and the guidance from Teresa and John, Matthew seeks to distinguish between the New Age views of contemplative prayer and the kind contemplative prayer within the Christain tradition. While tying this ancient practice into the “soaking" emphasis we see in the modern charismatic church. To do this, Matthew references the autobiography of Teresa and her first Spiritual Testimony while bringing in John’s teachings on the subject as they often complement one another. The guys will consider the practices of vocal prayer and silent prayer, looking at the different contemplatives understanding of each, while seeking to understand how we might find some balance between the two categories of prayer.This episode will also discuss different types of "prayer" as taught by Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross. Such as the Prayer of recollection, the prayer of quiet, the prayer of rapture, And the prayer of union. As well as the different types of visions and locutions one may experience in these different types of prayer.
