The Lions have started to whittle down their roster today and there was one surprising early cut: Dan Skipper. The veteran Tackle released by the team today. Now there is a chance that this is just roster gymnastics and he will be back. Skipper had been Tackle 3 on this team the last few years. Does this mean more opportunity for Gio Manu or Jamarco Jones? We will find out. Jackson Meeks is another guy who has been cut. Detroit Lions fell to the Houston Texans in the final NFL Preseason game before the regular season begins. Detroit Lions will take on the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 of the NFL season. Detroit Lions backup quarterback Kyle Allen threw a 33-yard touchdown to rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa for the Detroit Lions’ only touchdown. Detroit Lions also announced Robert Porcher, the teams all-time sack leader will be inducted into the Pride of the Detroit Lions in a special ceremony coming up in September.
