049 – How to Break out of Your Personality Pattern and Return to Your True Self
We all tend to go into certain Personality Patterns when we’re feeling overwhelmed or experiencing some sort of stress in our lives. There are 5 Personality Patterns, and whenever we realize that we've gone into a Pattern, our first job is to get ourselves out of the Pattern and back to being present. In today’s episode, I’m going to coach you on how to get out of each Pattern once you notice you’re in it. Because when we’re able to get out of Pattern, we have access to our learning brain, and we can operate as our true and authentic selves. This allows us to interact with our kids, partner, and all the other people in our lives – not from a skewed defensive Pattern – but through a clear lens. 047 - Discover Your Personality Pattern and Understand Why You Do the Things You Do
Have you ever wondered why you do the things you do? Why do you get so angry when your kids aren't listening to you? Why is it so hard to relax when the house is a mess?! Here's what's going on - as a child, whenever an experience overwhelmed our nervous system, we subconsciously built defenses against that overwhelm. Over time, those defenses become a habit, and then they become a pattern. Now as an adult, what we think of as our personality, is often this defense pattern running the show. So interesting, right?! Today I’m coaching on the 5 Personality Patterns - Leaving, Merging, Enduring, Aggressive, & Rigid - and I'm going to explain how each Pattern originates in childhood. I also coach on how each Pattern usually shows up so you can learn which Pattern you tend to go into when you're stressed or overwhelmed. TAKE THE QUIZ HERE: WHAT’S YOUR PERSONALITY PATTERN? 042 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - 4 Ways to Teach our Children Humility
At its core, humility is really just our kids’ ability to consider others ahead of themselves. When it comes to raising humble kids, I think the aim is twofold. First, we want our kids to have a secure identity – identity is clutch when it comes to humility. Second, we want to raise children who are open-minded about new information, new ideas, new perspectives, and new possibilities! In this episode, you're going to learn how meeting our children's needs is the single greatest way to foster a secure attachment and a spirit of confident humility. I also give some coaching around how our kids' identities, mistakes, and willingness to serve others play huge roles in their humility. 041 - How to Break Free from Self-Doubt and Stop Second Guessing Yourself
Where in your life do YOU struggle with self-doubt? Maybe it's shown up when you set a boundary. Maybe it's when you've had something to say, but the self-doubt crept in and you stayed quiet. Maybe it was a parenting decision you made and you can't stop wondering whether you made the right choice. Or maybe it’s a dream you want to chase, but your self-doubt keeps telling you that you’re not qualified. We all face moments of self-doubt. The key is to figure out how to move past it. Because if we don’t, self-doubt will sabotage us. It'll keep us playing small. And playing small is going to prevent us from reaching our goals, friends. Listen to this episode to learn exactly what to do when self-doubt and imposter syndrome creep in. I teach you how to stop second-guessing yourself and change your inner dialogue so you can work with your inner critic, rather than against it! 040 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - Raising our Kids to Embody Gratitude Beyond Saying “Thank You”
Anytime my kids get anything from anyone, I immediately turn into that cringy mom that’s like “and what do you say????” And every dang time, I’m expecting them to give a big hug and enthusiastic THANK YOU! And almost every time, I get some sort of sheepish mumbled "thank you" at best. I know I'm not the only one! And it got me thinking, my kids can say "thank you" regardless of whether they deeply experience gratitude. Do I really just want my kids to say the words, or do I want it to be deeper than that – do I want them to really embody a life of deep gratitude? Gratitude is an internal experience. In today's episode, I teach about the four parts of gratitude (notice, think, feel, do) and how we can foster them in our children.
