On today’s, Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett and Jim Moore kick off the show talking about Shohei Ohtani and how remarkable he is and what a ridiculous game he had last night. Puck is angry at Jim because he’s been talking all week how he feels the Wazzu game against San Jose State is a trap game and Puck wasn’t buying it but after watching highlights of San Jose State, Puck is now worried more than ever! After they are done talking about the Cougs, they switch gears to chat about the Seahawks and their game against Miami and the play of Geno Smith.  His play so far during the season will help him negotiate a contract extension in the offseason.  Puck and Jim chat about how difficult it is to find a franchise QB.   Puck doesn’t think Geno is a franchise QB, Jim disagrees…a little.  Our handicapper, TroyWins.com stops on by to preview the upcoming games for the weekend. Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network stops by for his weekly visit after Jason “Puck” Puckett gets around to figuring out how to pull him…Puck was struggling with technical issues!  Once Mike got on they jumped right into the current situation with Seahawks running back Ken Walker and whether or not if he’ll play this week.  Odds are not looking good right now. One of the big NFL storylines of the week was the Carolina Panthers benching Bryce Young and Puck and Mike wondered if this is the end of his career with the Panthers and will he ever recover from this benching. The injuries are mounting for the Seahawks rivals in the NFC West as the Rams and 49ers are really banged up and the Seahawks need to take advantage of the situation.  Packers quarterback Jordan Love is getting healthier and is closer to returning.  It’s getting weird in Chicago, as the father of Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze, went to twitter and is now showing film cut ups of Rome getting open and Caleb Williams not finding him. This is not going to end well in Chicago.

Brad Adam isn’t covering the game on Thursday and he’s headed to watch the game with his father and just being a fan.  Brad and Jason “Puck” Puckett dive into the latest blunder involving Julio Rodriguez.  Brad wants to know what was worse, the Julio play or Victor Robles from the previous night. Puck and Brad wonder and are frustrated that the team will no doubt trade one of their young pitchers in the offseason to improve the offense. They just can’t decide which one will be moved.  Going back to the Julio and Robles situation, Puck and Brad agree that Dan Wilson should have been more pointed in his postgame comments. He didn’t need to go over the top in his displeasure, but he needed to publicly state that is not the way the Mariners play.  Puck introduces Brad to the “Puckett Crisis Firm.”  Lastly, this offseason will be the most critical for Julio Rodriguez.  His struggles this season are a main source of why the M’s will not make the playoffs.

Danny Kelly from The Ringer enters the show to talk about week two of the NFL season and he and Puck talk about why offense is down so far during the first two weeks of the season.  What is the reason?  Geno Smith has been sensational to start the season and Danny and Puck rave about the play calling of Ryan Grubb and the usage of JSN and DK.  The Seahawks getting set for the Dolphins on Sunday and they will be without Tua.  Is his career over?  Also, will Russell Wilson make another start in the NFL?  Does Bill Belichick want to coach the Cowboys or Eagles?

Ryan Divish, Seattle Times joins Puck for his weekly visit and they touch in on the Robles mistake, plus whether or not the club wants to bring Randy Arozarena back.  Divish tells Puck that being around Randy, sometimes you get the feel that he doesn’t want to be in Seattle.  The offense and Julio have turned it around lately, lots of the credit has been given to hitting coach Edgar Martinez, but Divish doesn’t think he’ll be back next season. If he’s not back what do they do?  The Mariners playoff chances are nearly over, Puck and Divish chat about what’s ahead in the offseason.
