Daily Puck Drop: Laughing at the Mariners, Seahawks offensive outlook, and Jim lawyer's up!

On Wednesday’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Jim Moore, who appears on the show every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Also stopping by were Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftblog.com , to talk about the Seahawks offense and how they intend to improve the offense from this past season and Ryan Divish, Seattle Times, is on the show from a furniture store breaking down the latest so called moves by the Mariners.  Puck and Jim open up the show talking about why Jim was late to the show and they debated back and forth about how many times Jim was late to the show back in the radio days.  Jim’s memory on this is fuzzy.  They discuss the moves the Mariners have made and just laugh at the names they have brought in and the cost of each guy and wonder if they will win more or less games in 2025.  They briefly touch on the Seahawks requesting an interview with 28 year old Vikings assistant Grant Udinksi and have a good laugh at golfer Kevin Kisner who played in last night’s TGL event with Tiger Woods and was by far and away the worst golfer.  (34:53) - Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com, joins Puck to discuss the Seahawks offseason and they put a microscope on the Seahawks offense.  Beside hiring an offensive coordinator, what is the most pressing need for the Seahawks offense as they head into the offseason?  They discuss the future of Geno Smith, his contract and his worth.   Where do things stand with D.K. Metcalf, is there a chance he could be dealt?  How do they go about fixing the offensive line, especially since they need to replace three members of the line most likely.  How do we feel about the running back room and thoughts on the tight end group.   Lastly, Quinn Ewers declares for the NFL draft and Rob likes what he sees.  (1:11:54) - Ryan Divish, Seattle Times, joins Puck from his buddies furniture store in Havre, Montana, where Divish is helping him out on the sales floor! Puck can’t get enough of watching Ryan in action try to be a furniture salesman.   They discuss the latest moves the Mariners have made, Donovan Solano and Miles Mastrobuoni…Puck jokes with Divish and asks which one of these moves pushes the Mariners over the hump for a championship?  With the move of Solano, the M’s now have around $12 million to spend, what is left on the free agent market?  It’s now three weeks before the start of spring training, will Luis Castillo be on the team or will that be the one big move that Jerry Dipoto will make?  Divish sums up how he feels the M’s offseason has gone to this point.  Lastly, apparently Divish filmed a commercial for the furniture store and Puck is dying to get his hands on it! (1:33:11) - “Hey, What the Puck!?   Puck has just one wish in regards to the Seahawks search for a new offensive coordinator.

Or, he is taking his young daughter to the doctor…nothing serious, just the flu. Anyways, Puck and Mike jump right into the decision to fire Ryan Grubb and what direction they know will go in.  Mike goes over a number of candidates that may be interested in the job, including Chip Kelly.  Mike also describes that the relationship between Grubb and Mike Macdonald may have been one that was destined to end in failure from the get go.   Pete Carroll is interviewing for the Bears job, is he a legitimate candidate for the job?  Is Deion Sanders positioning himself for an NFL job by getting a team to draft both of his sons?(13:19) - After a brief visit with Garafolo, Puck apologizes for the late start to the show over technical issues and dives deeper into the firing of Grubb and going over all the rumored candidates that the Seahawks may interview. Daily Puck Drop: "System Update!" Rob Staton says Ryan Grubb firing right move. Ryan Divish on the Mariners lack of moves

On Wednesday’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett, Jim Moore is back after he was out sick on Monday and made his way down to Arizona to visit family. They open up the show talking about the firing of Ryan Grubb and if they agreed with the move and what they will look at next for their offensive coordinator.  Puck brought up the idea of Chip Kelly coming back to the NFL.  How culpable should Mike Macdonald and John Schneider be with the firing of Grubb?   Lastly, before Jim leaves, they chat about the new Tiger Woods indoor golf league that debuted on Tuesday night. Some good and some bad about the new venture. (33:39) Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com joined the show to discuss the firing of Grubb. It’s been two weeks since Puck and Rob have chatted so there was a lot to go over, but the main topic of the segment was the removal of Grubb.  Rob and Puck disagree on the decision, but came to the conclusion that Macdonald and Grubb simply didn’t mesh personality wise and if that’s truly the case than a move was to be made.  But, as they have discussed in the past, when you have a defensive minded coach, like Macdonald, shuffling through offensive coordinators can be a problem and this will be a significant hire for Macdonald and Schneider. (59:22) Ryan Divish, Seattle Times, is back after a two-week holiday break to jump on and talk about all the great moves the Mariners have made this offseason!  Wait, no moves have been made and Divish and Puck discuss what the M’s have in store with many of their options drying up.  Will they trade Luis Castillo?  What free agents out there can help Seattle?  Are they players for Japanese sensation Roki Sasaki?  How cold is it truly in Havre, Montana, where Divish currently resides?! (1:25:00) “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck discusses the Jimmy Butler saga in the NBA and plays a clip from Charles Barkley and the TNT crew discussing the drama.  What’s wrong with today’s professional athlete?
