Fiqh of Jumuah and Janazah
Shaykh Yasir Qadhi gives us important information on the Jumuah and Janazah.
Before going to Jummah, taking a bath is strongly encouraged and also wearing special clothes. It is prohibited to speak while Imam is giving Khutbah and we should not let our mind wander and concentrate and have khushoo during the Khutbah.
Salatul Eid is compulsory to attend whether male or female. Timing for Eid is Salatul Duha.It is Sunnah to pray outside the community, take a path different from the initial path taken on your return, saying the Takbeer, eating something before one goes to prayer.
How to pray the Eid prayer? Listen intently to discover important details.
Next in the line for discussion is the funeral or the janazah wherein two acts are essential - washing of dead body and the funeral prayer. What are the rules to be exercised when one is washing or performing ghusl of the dead body?Shaykh Yasir answers. Salatul Janazah should be performed by the closest relative of the dead person so that there is more sincerity in Dua for the dead. But, an Imam can also do the same.
4 Takbeerat should be performed - 1st Takbeer should be succeeded by Surah Fatiha, 2nd takbeer should be succeeded by Durood on the Prophet (SAW) 3rd takbeer should be succeeded by dua for the dead and the 4th takbeer should be succeeded with immediate Salam on one side. The grave should be dug around 5 to 6 ft deep. There are the two ways to dig a grave - one is Lahd and the other is Shaq.
The reward for praying Salatul Janazah and attending Janazah is attainment of two mountains of rewards where one mountain is the size of Mount Uhud.
The Muslim should be buried as soon as possible and it should not be delayed and the dead must be buried in the same place as his death.

Condemning The Charlie Hebdo Attack And Respecting Prophet Muhammad Pbuh
Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi shares his state of mind and gives us an honest opinion on the recent killing of the cartoonists in France. He also sheds light on the clear double-standards and hypocrisy that sets the undertone of the mindset of the people.
The Shaykh asks of these people as to what is the use of the 'freedom of expression' when clearly one does not even have his or her way when it comes to choosing one’s attire.
The Prophet ﷺ was sent as nothing but a source of immense love and mercy to the world, with his Seerah being standing testimony to the innumerable incidents of forgiveness and love. His honour has to be guarded with full conviction and mocking of the Prophet ﷺ is promised a punishment by Allah SWT like no other.
The Shaykh implores us to seriously ponder upon the context of violence, why it happens, why is the Seerah being placed out of context and much more. The political and social powers that influence the minds of the radicals need to be checked into place so that these untoward incidents do not see the light of the day. Islamophobia and institutionalized racism against Muslims has to stop if we are to be allowed to practise our religion in peace and tranquility.

Seerah 99 Verse of Sword & Hajj of Abu Bakr
Shaykh Yasir Qadhi now discusses a major event that happened in the Seerah in the year 9 H and that is the Hajj of Abu Bakr As Siddiq RA.
When the tribe of Ta'if accepts Islam in 9H, the Prophet ﷺ makes the decision to send Abu Bakr RA with an official delegation from Madinah to Mecca. He does not perform the Hajj himself. Why so? He informs the reason being the performance of the Tawaf by the jahiliyyah in the naked state. And that is indeed a no brainer that the blessed Prophet ﷺ is not going to do Hajj when the mushriks were acting in this way.
Also we receive immense clarification on the topic of Tawaf being done in a naked state by the Jahiliyyah. Then Allah explicitly elaborates on this topic of Fahisha in the Qur'an and our doubts are put to rest.
The moment Abu Bakr RA left for Madinah, Allah revealed the first 3 pages of Surah Tawbah which were directed at the pagans of Arabia.
Another point of interest is when the Prophet ﷺ chose Ali ibn Abi Talib to take these verses and announce them to the people during Hajj along with the congregation that had left for Mecca. 300 people were chosen to go along with 25 sacrificial animals.
What are these verses ofSurah Tawbah? The Shaykh explains the meanings of the verses revealed in this time and gives a detailed Tafseer. It is definitely worth a listen.
'The verse of the sword' or the 5th verse of Surah Tawbah that was revealed became a huge point of misinterpretation and controversy. What was the issue? Shaykh Yasir answers.
Abu Bakr RA performed the Hajj along with Ali RA and they first recite Surah Tawbah. Then they make the following announcements:
No one shall enter Jannah other than a Muslim.
No one shall perform Tawaf naked.
No mushrik shall ever perform Tawaf ever again.
Was Ihram present before Islam? It is reported that the Prophet ﷺ explicitly commanded the Muslims to wear Ihram and this implies that Ihram is that which the Prophet ﷺ himself came with.

Reality Of Sihr, Black Magic, Exorcisms And Jinns
What is Sihr? What does it mean linguistically and theologically? How do magicians learn Sihr?
How can we detect if someone has Sihr (Black Magic) done on them? What is possession and exorcism? How to combat Sihr and Jinns? Shaykh Yasir Qadhi elaborates on a variety of such mind boggling topics that warrant our attention.
The Shaykh also discusses Quranic stories about Sihr. The first is the story of Musa AS. The other story is about Sulaiman AS and his power to control wind, Jinns and animals. listen intently to discover the pertinent details.
After Sulaiman AS died, the Shayateen claimed to have unlocked his powers and told that Sulaiman AS knew black magic. But Allah defended him explicitly in the Holy Qur'an. A very comprehensive explanation about the same is provided by the Shaykh.
Sihr was also done on the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Aisha RA narrates that the Prophet ﷺ assumed that he needed to do a Ghusl thinking he had been intimate the night before but that was never the case. He also had a dream that gave him the solution of his assumption due to Sihr. What was it? What did the Prophet ﷺ do about it? Do not miss the explanation provided.
What lessons do we imbibe from the happenings with the Prophet Musa AS, Sulaiman AS and Prophet ﷺ?
Iman and Taqwa does not necessarily protect you from Sihr but can possibly minimise the impact definitely. The stronger the Iman, the lesser the impact of Sihr.
Most magic occurs by using body parts of the one on whom magic is done like hairs and nails and clothing items.
One of the main ways to combat Sihr is to make Dua continuously.
It is very helpful to know where the item is so that it can be destroyed.
Surah Al Falaq and An Nas are the most precious when it comes to combating Sihr.
The physical and psychological nature of Jinns is illustrated for us to alleviate fears in our minds. What is meant by Jinn? What are the roots of Jinns? Why do the Jinns do what they do? The mysteries surrounding these smokeless creations are elucidated briefly. The speed and strength of Jinns is mostly much stronger than man and they possess the capability to transform matter into energy and vice versa.

The Real Birth Date of Muhammad (SAW)
Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi delves into a topic which is extremely interesting and warrants an elaborate discussion. This topic is related to the real birth date of our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
As is the viewpoint of the majority of the Muslim Ummah, the birth of the Prophet ﷺ took place on the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal. But as we dig deeper into an academic perspective, we gather evidence and support text that substantiate the 2nd, 8th or 10th of Rabi al-Awwal as viable and respected birth dates than the earlier accepted one.
And even among these dates, the 8th of Rabi ul Awwal seems to stake the highest claim.
Listen intently and unravel the mystery for yourself with an explicit lecture on the same.
