The Ten Factors That Save Us From Jahannam
Based on Shaykh al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi elaborates explicitly about the ten factors that save Muslims from Jahannam or Hell Fire.
These are as follows:
Tawbah - If one feels guilty he needs to make Tawbah. Allah created us so that we can make Tawbah and appeal to His Mercy. The one who makes Tawbah is as if he has never committed the sin.
Istighfaar - This is a verbal manifestation of the Tawbah. Allah keeps forgiving those who keep asking Him for forgiveness.
Good Deeds - Good deeds expiate evil deeds.
Du’a and Istighfaar of other believers.
Calamities, trials, tribulations, grief and anguish - If we exhibit Sabr in the wake of trials and tribulations, we earn forgiveness in the Hereafter.
Punishment of the Grave - The punishment of the grave will act as Kaffara for us and we will be saved eventually.
Punishments of the Day of Judgment - For some Muslims, the suffering of the Day Of Judgment will be an expiation.
Good deeds gifted to the deceased by the living
The intercession of the Prophet ﷺ - Whoever gets it will go to Jannah. The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever makes the Du’a after Adhan is bound to get his attention.
Allah’s Mercy on the Day of Judgment.

Standing Firm On Our Principles
Shaykh Yasir Qadhi delves deeply into the concept of standing firm on the principles of Islam - primarily, equality.
When the elite of the Quraysh requested for a change in the clause of Islam which was to get rid of Bilal RA, Ibn Masud RA, Suhaib Ibn Roomi RA and other non Arabs from the sitting in which the elites would be housed, they cited a possible chance of accepting of Islam by the elites like Mutim Ibn Adi.
A discussion ensued in Dar Al Arqam. Should a compromise be put into place for this principle clause? What was the outcome at this gathering? Listen intently to discover the happenings there.
The pomp and arrogance of the elites could not win over the heart of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the piety of the ordinary people. The Prophet ﷺ openly declared that His Lord, Allah SWT has said that he will be amongst the wrongdoers if he obliges to this clause thus, outright rejecting the elites.

Medina Bombing Incident
Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi acquaints us with his state of mind regarding the horrific bombing incident near Masjid an Nabawi in Medina in the month of Ramadan and on the last of the odd nights. He is in a state of shock as to how someone could indulge in a demeaning act of such lowness and words fail him.He is appalled at the state of mind of the bomber who had the audacity to attempt to harm the city of Madinah which is the city of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Madinah is the city that Allah chose for the Prophet ﷺ to do Hijra, to plant the tree of Islam, the forbearer of the Revelations of Allah and much more. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Madinah is sacred between the two mounts of Ayr and Thawr. Whoever causes any deviation or helps any deviation shall incur the curse of Allah, and the curse of the angels, and the curse of all of mankind! Not a single obligatory or nafl good deed shall be accepted of him."
The Shaykh begs Allah to protect the people of Madinah and to protect the Ummah from such misdeeds and straying away from the pure religion of Islam. He asks of Allah to guide everyone to the ultimate truth of Islam and stay clear of deviation and remain steadfast in this quest of not straying ever. Aameen.

Beautiful Names of Allah - 18
Shaykh Yasir Qadhi discusses the name of Allah that is Al Wahhab.
The name occurs 3 times in the Qur'an and comes from the word Wahaba, which means to give (as gift) to somebody else something you own and without wanting anything back in return. Al-Wahhab gives and continuously gives what is His to us from His Generosity.
Since Allah is Al Wahhab, He gives without asking. What happens when we actually ask Allah? Shaykh Yasir Qadhi answers.
A Halal Dua is responded in 3 ways:
What we ask is given to us.
What we ask, Allah stalls it since it was not beneficial at the time or to save us from a disaster.
Allah grants us an even better gift on Yawm Al Qiyamah.
Thus, the Name of Allah Al Wahhab should be invoked to achieve the greatest and highest of everything because it will release spiritual and family blessings.

Beautiful Names of Allah - 17
Shaykh Yasir Qadhi delves on the Name of Allah which is Al Afuww. This means that Allah overlooks and neglects a sin committed by us as if it never took place and overlooks it as if it never happened.
Al Afuww is mentioned 5 times in the Qur'an. Allah being Al Afuww necessitates our deepest gratitude and thanks to Allah.
The best example of exhibition of Afuww is seen in the story of the slander of Aisha RA. Abu Bakr RA, her father had a relative by the name of Mistah bin Uthatha who was being helped by Abu Bakr RA in terms of monetary relief. But he was the prime candidate involved in this demeaning act against his daughter. When Abu Bakr RA heard of this, he was dejected and resorted to cutting off all ties with him in every way.
But Allah SWT revealed verses of Surah Nur relieving her from the accusation and in verse 22 of Surah Noor Allah revealed: ‘And let not those among you who are blessed with graces and wealth swear not to give (any sort of help) to their kinsmen, Al-Masakin (the poor), and those who left their homes for Allah’s Cause. Let them pardon and forgive. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’
