3/27/23: The Irony of Today's Banking Crisis

It's Monday, March 27th, and I am astonished that Wells Fargo is paying yet another $300 million to settle yet another class action lawsuit. In this particular case, this lawsuit alleged that the bank forced hundreds of thousands of its customers to buy unnecessary insurance when getting an auto loan. This is just the latest in a long string of financial fines and lawsuits, settlements that Wells Fargo has incurred since 2000. -----Links from today's show:Wells Fargo agrees to pay $300 million to settle with shareholders over auto insurance disclosuresBrought to you by:Global X ETFsInvesco QQQSchwab-----Subscribe to podcast updatesThe Truth About Your Future websiteThe Truth About CryptoHave a question for Ric?Follow Ric on social media:FacebookTwitterYouTubeInstagramDisclosure page-----

3/24/23: When You Die, Do Your Kids Know Who Gets What – and Why?

It's Friday, March 24th. I want to talk about old people today. Yeah, those who are 65 plus, we're talking about a group of the US population that represents 17% of everybody in the US, but they have 75% of all the wealth in the US. We're talking about $70 trillion that are owned and controlled by people 65 and older over the next 20 years. All that money, $70 trillion, is going to be transferred to their children and other heirs.-----Links from today's show:Cerulli SurveyAva LabsAppetite for Disruption podcastGlobal Blockchain ConvergenceSelf-Care with Jean EdelmanBrought to you by:Global X ETFsInvesco QQQSchwab-----Subscribe to podcast updatesThe Truth About Your Future websiteThe Truth About CryptoHave a question for Ric?Follow Ric on social media:FacebookTwitterYouTubeInstagramDisclosure page-----

3/23/23: The Surprising Benefits of Working Longer

It's Thursday, March 23rd. Yesterday, we talked about the four-day workweek. If you work one day less a week, maybe you can work more years, meaning your body might not get worn out so quickly. And if working fewer days a week lets you stay in the workforce longer, that might be really good for your long-term health. A new study says that if you retire early, you could indeed damage your health. -----Links from today's show:3/22/23 Podcast: Will You Soon Enjoy The Four-Day Work Week?Study: Retiring early may accelerate cognitive declineSelf-Care with Jean EdelmanCertificate in Blockchain and Digital AssetsBrought to you by:Global X ETFsInvesco QQQSchwab-----Subscribe to podcast updatesThe Truth About Your Future websiteThe Truth About CryptoHave a question for Ric?Follow Ric on social media:FacebookTwitterYouTubeInstagramDisclosure page-----

3/22/23: Will You Soon Enjoy The Four-Day Work Week?

It's Wednesday, March 22nd. 100 years ago, odds were high that you lived and worked on a farm. That was a 24/7/365 job because, you know, cows and pigs and chickens, they never take the day off. They got to be fed or milked or always cared for and crops always needed tending to every day. The Industrial Revolution gave us the six-day workweek. Sunday was off for religious reasons. Eventually, that led to the five-day workweek. In 1938, Congress created the 40-hour workweek and set overtime pay for anything more than that. That was then. Now there's a movement to a four-day workweek. -----Links from today's show:U.K. 4-Day Work Week Study32-Hour Workweek Bill Reintroduced in CongressBrought to you by:Global X ETFsInvesco QQQSchwab-----Subscribe to podcast updatesThe Truth About Your Future websiteThe Truth About CryptoHave a question for Ric?Follow Ric on social media:FacebookTwitterYouTubeInstagramDisclosure page-----

It's Tuesday, March 21st. I often talk about tech on this show because our technological innovations are changing the planet. We're growing so accustomed to them that tech innovations are just not getting anybody terribly excited about them anymore.
