Here he recollects how he met Saul-Paul Sirag on his birthday in 1971. Sirag wrote a syndicated column on science called “The New Alchemy”. He was raised by missionary parents, with a strong fundamentalist Christian background. In WWII, he was interned in a Japanese concentration camp on the island of Borneo — where his father died. In 1973, Jeff and Saul-Paul were both invited to move into the Institute for the Study of Consciousness in Berkeley, founded by the cosmologist, Arthur M. Young. Scott Rogo was known as a historian of parapsychology and also the author of twenty books in the field and many scientific papers. He ventured into areas that parapsychologists often shy away from. He was tragically murdered in 1990. Today, the murder remains officially unsolved.
