Understanding the Online Advertising Programme

In this final episode of Season 9 of The IAB UK Podcast, James talks to the IAB's Policy team - Christie Dennehy-Neil and Beth Rogers - about the Online Advertising Programme, or OAP for short. The OAP has been set up by the Government to review the regulatory framework of paid-for online advertising and consider how it can build on existing and emerging aspects of the self-regulatory framework. While it's very hard to predict what the outcome of the OAP will be, the fact that the consultation contains a wide range of potential changes to the current regulatory framework indicates it is highly unlikely that everything will stay the same. In this episode, Christie and Beth help unwrap some of the details of the consultation and explain why it's critical for IAB members to be aware of the programme and to be engaging with it. Read more about the Online Advertising Programme here along with our FAQs here. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Tackling the Talent Crisis with Manchester Metropolitan University and Microsoft Advertising

This week'e episode is focused on the industry’s talent crisis and how IAB UK members in the North West in particular are feeling the effects, exacerbated by the global pandemic. In this discussion, James talks to Manchester Metropolitan Uni's Jo Bodley and Jeff McCarthy who both lecture in Digital Marketing, as well as Ellie England, Commercial Director at Microsoft Advertising who is also based in Manchester and part of the IAB’s Northern group. In an industry where it might once have been considered "career-ending" to move out of London, they discuss how - in a post-COVID world - you can still work 'in London' with the weighted salary, the opportunities and other benefits, but not have to live within commuting distance of the office. They also cover Manchester Met's partnership with the IAB and how recruitment and retention policies have been rapidly improving. Read more about IAB UK's partnership with MMU on our site. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
