916 I started working when I was about 15 years old in my father’s construction business. By the time I was 18 years old, I was running projects for him. The experience was an excellent training ground and way to finance my education! In 1992, I graduated from college and my first job was working as a staff accountant for an insurance company. In 1994, I started law school and after my first year, I shifted to night school and began working full time in a law firm. I earned my law degree in 1998 and in the ensuing 20 + years, I have worked as an attorney, corporate sales representative, business owner, real estate investor, professional network marketer and business advisor.  Through it all, I gained tremendous wisdom and an understanding of the importance of continual growth, living in the moment and developing the habits, skills and mindset towards what is required to thrive in business and in life. Of course, this happened over a long period of time. During much of that time, I was not living up to my potential. I was at a loss on how to get and stay in a place of financial prosperity and physical well-being. It was not until I got CLEAR on my value proposition and purpose did, I begin to feel like I was truly on the right path. 915  In late 2013, my wife, Andi, and I decided we needed to take control of our finances. We had student loan debt, a car loan, and no financial plans for the future. We didn't want to give a piece of our monthly income away to debt payments. What if we took those payments and used them for something we actually wanted?   By significantly cutting our lifestyle and writing a budget every month, we were debt free in 12 months. Since beginning that journey, I became obsessed with personal finances. I read every book I could find, took online classes, and signed up for trainings and certification courses to broaden my knowledge.  Then something amazing happened. It didn't only transform our finances, but touched many other areas of our lives. Our marriage was stronger because we were on the same page with our budget and spending. I became more motivated, increasing my productivity at work and in my side projects. My eating habits changed, improving my health and the amount of energy I had throughout the day. 914 My reason why dates back to 2010, when a massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake stuck the island of Haiti. The country is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere and was rocked to its core by the earthquake. They were in desperate need of help.  It started with my own monetary donations and then transitioned to me running my own fundraising events. Prior to the Ride for Hope was “The Run for Hope” and “The Fight for Hope”.  During the “Run for Hope” I ran the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon and raised $3,800.   On March 17th, 2022 I will depart from Miami on a mission to ride by bicycle to San Diego. It is over 3,000 miles and will take 8 weeks. We will raise $250,000 for the Angel Wings International clinic, while positively impacting communities along the way. I am also the author of “The Power to Change; Creating the life of your dreams through healthy choices.” As an obese teenager who struggled with behavior issues, I was eventually kicked out of high school and had many run ins with local law enforcement. Through making small changes every day, over a long period of time, I was able to turn my life around. 912 When I look at the common thread that runs through all of my professional experiences, it is clear that I love to combine mathematics with technology to produce game-changing solutions. My inspiration came from my formal education, work experience and the breakthrough innovations developed by Alan Turing (and Frege and Church before him). Turing imagined machines with amazing computational power and ultimately brought them to life. His innovations tipped the scales of WWII and set the stage for the information revolution – of which I am an active part.  Early in my career, I used computational mathematics and software development capabilities to develop automations that boosted internal productivity, drove client efficiencies and improved regulatory compliance. Most recently I founded Coordisc and developed CDM, a technology product that has the potential to completely reorder the global financial system. CDM establishes a better exchange market for commodities by conducting all trades at market-clearing prices with radically improved price discovery, lower total cost of transactions and the elimination hedging needs. Only a fraction of current tradeflow can get this product off the ground and prove its power. From there, CDM can be scaled rapidly.  It is not lost on me that I have an enormous responsibility to produce algorithmic technology products that drive results, but also protect ethics and morality. One does not need to look beyond recent financial crises or their Facebook feeds to see that our rush for more powerful technology has eroded our civic, political, cultural and societal systems.
