305 - Understanding Media Today with Ashley Spriggs of Pivot Media
I’m excited to have PR Maven, Ashley Spriggs, with Pivot Media on the podcast today. Ashley handles a lot of our PR on the back end and I can’t wait for you to hear some tips about leveraging PR at any stage of your business. Ashley started out as a counselor with a PR “side hustle” in 2017. She formerly launched her business in 2020 - BUT she wishes she would have jumped in sooner! Her business is now thriving, and she says – don’t let fear stand in your way! We dive into the trends in PR and media right now and Ashley shares that podcasts are HUGE. In the past two years, they have become the number one driving force for media. If you don’t have a podcast, she recommends showing up regularly on social media and in your emails. Go live! Share the behind-the-scenes and be CONSISTENT! Also, be relational and find connections with people. Let’s say your goal is to do more interviews to increase your visibility. What happens when you actually get the interview? How do you relate to people? First, Ashley says you MUST be confident in your message! You must believe it is truly valuable. Then, be intentional with your answers so that it fits your interviewer’s audience. Don’t just give the same answer to everyone! Find a way to relate and make connections with both the interviewer and their audience. Also, don’t be afraid to start a podcast of your own and use social media as a place to expand connections. 303 - How to Use your Authentic Story to Sell with Jessi Shuraleff
Today we welcome Jessi Shuraleff to the Crush the Rush podcast! Jessi teaches women to make sales through the art of storytelling. She shares how storytelling one-on-one or with a group has a lot to do with that feeling of “me too” – making someone feel that they aren’t alone.Interestingly, she explains that selling is also about building relationships and creating connections. When she’s starting a new conversation with someone, she tries to understand what both people are trying to get from the conversation, and she reminds herself that she should be listening 80% of the time - and only talking 20% of the time!Jessi shares that storytelling is valuable because it helps to create a community of likeminded people who have similar values and goals. It can also help people who are curious to expand their values and goals. How can storytelling help with sales? It helps you build the like, know and trust factor and it makes you relatable. It simply begins with being honest with yourself and going from there. In today’s episode:The moment Jessi found her voice again How storytelling has changed Jessi’s life How your story can help you make sales How to use your pivotal moments to shine a light on your storyHow your story helps you grow and scaleCONNECT WITH JESSI:IG: @thisismytruthpodcast This is My Truth PodcastCONNECT WITH HOLLY: TEXT HOLLY: 614-810-4236 or click hereJOIN CRUSH THE RUSH LIVE: https://www.hollymariehaynes.com/liveI hope these tips help! 301 - A Step-by-Step Guide to Transitioning to Full-Time Entrepreneurship with Amy Porterfield
I am over-the-moon excited to have Amy Porterfield on the podcast today! Many of you know Amy as an amazing business coach, but she’s here to talk about her new book, “Two Weeks Notice.”We start by digging into Amy’s inspiration for taking the leap into entrepreneurship. She shares that she was REALLY GOOD at climbing the corporate ladder, but, after a fateful meeting in a room full of entrepreneurs, she decided she wanted more freedom – just like them!It took her one year from that meeting to take the leap from her corporate job to entrepreneurship and, during that year, she developed the “sweet spot” strategy. It includes asking yourself four questions – (1) What am I good at that I can teach others? (2) Who do I want to work with? (3) Where are these people spending their money? (4) What lights you up and makes you happy? This is all great and fine, BUT what about the money anxiety that comes along with quitting your corporate job? Amy explains that (luckily) online businesses have low overhead! However, you also need to find clarity on how much income you really need to survive and be willing to sacrifice for the first year of business. It might be a bumpy ride, but it will be worth it in the end!Something Amy learned early in business – surround yourself with other people doing more than you! She realized that everyone has failures, and YOU are not your failures. They are simply experiences along the way to learn from! … And if you’re working a 9-5 with a dream of working for yourself one day, start building the runway NOW! Not sure how? Don’t worry! Amy shares the three business models perfect for entrepreneurs just getting started! Want more from Amy? 299 - Using Your Business to Fund Personal Wealth with Erinn Bridgman
I am so excited for today’s episode where we discuss using your business to fund personal wealth with Erinn Bridgman. It’s one of the main reasons I started my business! Erinn started out as a wedding photographer, but pivoted 5 years ago into business, money mindset and money management coaching.Erinn says that it makes sense that women feel GUILTY about making money given the history of women and money in our country. This can lead to a challenge with our mindset around money – do you feel WORTHY to make money? Starting here is KEY!Then, Erinn gets practical with a focus on increasing your SALARY! Most women pay themselves last and inconsistently. Although investing money back into the business makes sense at the beginning of your journey, eventually paying yourself a consistent salary allows you to leverage growing your personal wealth. So, if nothing else, start paying yourself consistently – even if it’s $100 a month – put it on autopay!Erinn drops all the gold when she shares her five financial goals for women biz owners – (1) Work towards eliminating any debt. (2) Determine a savings goal and start saving! (3) Decide how you want to invest for your retirement – and then do it! (4) Be generous! Wealthy women will change their communities and the world! (5) Lastly, think about any lifestyle upgrades that make sense for YOU – maybe it’s hiring a housekeeper or traveling more. It’s totally up to YOU!Unsure where to start? Erinn recommends two things .. Log into your business and personal bank accounts daily. Just get used to looking at the numbers. Next, create one financial goal that really lights you up! Write it down and write down the feeling it would produce!Want more from Erinn? Check out her podcast called “The Wealthy Woman”In this episode:Erinn tells us how she became an expert in this fieldDo you feel guilty about making money?Let’s talk about that money mindset!
