Cycling Race Tactics: Don't Pick Your Team's Winner BEFORE The Race; GO RACE

Too many times I hear "Today is Chris' race to get in the break". It's really hard to always make that happen, and then if he doesn't make the initial break, where does the team go from there? Bike racing is insanely dynamic, so picking your squad's winner before the race is not the best idea for the team. Give this a listen and let me know some other tips that you give new racers in terms of how to race on a team, ESPECIALLY when 10 guys on the same team are there to race. If you have BIG NUMBERS, BE ACTIVE! Attack early, counterattack when the moves get brought back, and when you have numbers in the break, let THAT one stick! If you have numbers, you guys should win A LOT. Brendan@EVOQ.BIKE https://youtu.be/EjwE8gwL5Kc

Case Study: Overtrained? Too Much Intensity? Or Just No structure?

Clif Notes: new athlete, never rests, feeling like he's crumbling.  Let's get you the bullet points so that you can avoid this, or see some ways that you can look at your distribution of riding in order to make an assessment of where to go next. Many times, less is more. Did he do too much VO2Max recently, or was it just spread out smashing...clearly those are different, but just looking at a Polarized Weekly Chart, you can't decipher that.
