Biden has signaled that he will be far friendlier to legal immigration than Trump, which would be a boon to the economy. Pros for Trump Less regulation Less Lockdowns F the media Continue lower taxes No new wars? Slow the woke mob Cons for Biden — Tax hikes. Biden and Democrats more broadly want to raise corporate taxes and taxes on "the rich." But, as economics teaches us, the costs of these taxes will, at least in part, be passed on to workers and consumers. — Huge spending increases. The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Budget projects that under Biden, the national debt will reach 129% of the size of the entire economy by 2030. — $15 minimum wage. Democrats largely agree on hiking the minimum wage, even though the idea runs contrary to basic economics and a study recently showed it would kill 2 million jobs. — Mountains of new red tape and regulations. On issues from Big Tech to the gig economy, Biden and his fellow Democrats want to pass regulations that would destroy jobs and, potentially, even wipe out entire industries. Erika Kolenich (Libertarian Party) is running for election for Governor of West Virginia. She is on the ballot in the general election on November 3, 2020. She advanced from the Libertarian Party convention on April 8, 2020. Check out her website here. Erika is a resident of Upshur County where she lives with her husband, Karl and their daughter, Iris. She was raised in West Virginia, the daughter of small business owners. Her parents taught her work ethic and personal responsibility at an early age. Erika graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1997. While attending high school, she was a member of the band and frequently participated in extracurricular events such as theatre and Youth in Government. Upon graduating high school, Erika attended West Virginia Wesleyan College where she double majored in Dramatic Arts and Political Science. She then attended law school at the University of Akron. After passing both the Ohio and West Virginia bar exams, Erika returned to West Virginia and began practicing law at a litigation firm in Wheeling. Shortly thereafter, she made the jump to open her own practice in Upshur County. Erika is now the managing member of Klie Law Offices, PLLC, a firm that focuses in employment litigation. She has devoted her career to representing West Virginians. Erika enjoys volunteering for a variety of community and civic organizations from theatre to Head Start and the Chamber of Commerce. In her free time Erika enjoys physical activity and hiking the mountains of West Virginia with her family and their dog. She also enjoys traveling but has always found that nothing feels better than returning home to West Virginia. Preston Nelson (Libertarian Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Illinois' 8th Congressional District. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 3, 2020. Preston Nelson is a 30 year old Information Technology professional, amateur linguist, and inventor who hates what he sees happening in his government. Nelson was raised, first as a Christian, and second as a Republican. He has since forsaken the "republican" label, but he clings to his faith, and considers Christian morals as the foundation of his opposition to the Republicrat establishment. As a child, Nelson cheered when George Bush went after those bad guys in Iraq and Afghanistan, but as an adolescent, he saw through Bush's war lies, considered politics hopeless, and stopped paying attention. As a young man, Nelson stumbled across the Libertarian Party (thanks to Ron Paul.) Learning that, compared to the D and R parties, Libertarians in Illinois required 10-times the number of people to sign their petition, just in order to have their names written on the ballot, and further learning that Republican lawyers filed suit against the Libertarian petitions every year in an attempt to nullify them, or at least waste the Libertarians' time and money in court, Nelson was outraged, and immediately began working in Public Relations for the Libertarian Party of Illinois. Historically, Libertarian campaigns are a crap shoot, so in 2018, Nelson ran in the Republican Primary against incumbent U.S. Representative Mike Bost. Nelson focused his campaign on 3 issues: Foreign Policy Reform and Bringing Troops Home; Ending Corporate Factory-Farm Subsidies; Monetary Reform to Stop Endless Inflation and Currency Devaluation, and he won 17% of the Republican primary election vote, even while writing "Libertarian" on all of his campaign literature. This year, Nelson is running Libertarian, in a 2-way race with a incumbent Democrat. His issues remain the same: Ending decades-long wars which now only serve to hurt our global standing, while bankrupting the nation to enrich the Military Industrial Complex Letting people keep their own money, instead of taxing it to give to big agribusinesses which produce unhealthy food Boosting the American economy by balancing the budget, and protecting the Dollar from inflation and devaluation.
