Pros for Biden
— Freer trade. Biden seems likely to roll back some of President Trump's counterproductive and harmful tariffs.
— More legal immigration. Biden has signaled that he will be far friendlier to legal immigration than Trump, which would be a boon to the economy.
Pros for Trump
- Less regulation
- Less Lockdowns
- F the media
- Continue lower taxes
- No new wars?
- Slow the woke mob
Cons for Biden
— Tax hikes. Biden and Democrats more broadly want to raise corporate taxes and taxes on "the rich." But, as economics teaches us, the costs of these taxes will, at least in part, be passed on to workers and consumers.
— Huge spending increases. The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Budget projects that under Biden, the national debt will reach 129% of the size of the entire economy by 2030.
— $15 minimum wage. Democrats largely agree on hiking the minimum wage, even though the idea runs contrary to basic economics and a study recently showed it would kill 2 million jobs.
— Mountains of new red tape and regulations. On issues from Big Tech to the gig economy, Biden and his fellow Democrats want to pass regulations that would destroy jobs and, potentially, even wipe out entire industries.
