Jeremy Svejcar | Charlie Five
Jeremy Svejcar was born in New Mexico but grew up in Colorado. He started his military career with the United States Air Force in 2000 and volunteered for his first deployment in 2002 after watching the 9/11 attacks unfold on live TV. In 2023, he transitioned to the Army, earning his infantryman MOS and supporting several missions both stateside and in combat zones over the next six years.
After struggling for years after his last combat deployment in 2006 Jeremy found peace and purpose working with horses. Jeremy and his wife, Rose, established Charlie Five to help Veterans and first responders find that same purpose and peace by pairing them with their very own horse. The Charlie Five crew has successfully paired seven heroes with their own horses and supported each of them on their horsemanship journey.

Chad Masters
Chad Masters is a fifteen-time NFR qualifier, three-time NFR Average winner, and two-time World Champion Header from Cedar Hill, Tennessee. He is an outstanding horseman, known for riding some of the best horses to have ever gone up and down the road. It was great catching up with Chad after a busy week of roping between the ARHFA World Championships in Fort Worth and the first-ever COJO roping in Belton. Chad is a great friend with some awesome rodeo stories, and I hope you all enjoy this episode as much as I did!

Todd Hornbuckle | Captain, U.S. Navy (Retired)
Todd Hornbuckle was born to a Wyoming cattle-ranching family in 1975. After studying math and completing United States Air Force ROTC at New Mexico State University, he set off for the aviation adventure of a lifetime. His 5000 military hours, flown with both gold and silver wings, include supersonic flights, combat sorties above 70,000 ft, carrier takeoffs and landings, air-to-air combat training, high-speed low-level hops, and weapons delivery. His 17 years with Delta Air Lines have been spent flying Boeing 757, 767, and Airbus 330 aircraft to nearly every continent. In 2016, his greatest aeronautical challenge would come with his seven-year-old daughter beside him. Against impossible odds, he would endure the unimaginable to reclaim his rightful place in the sky. Captain Hornbuckle lives in Meridian, ID, with his wife Tamara and the youngest of their three children.

Andy Holcomb
Andy Holcomb is among the top ranks of rope horse trainers in our industry. I was thrilled to catch him while he was down in Texas a few days early, preparing his team of horses for the ARHFA Finals. Andy's ability to train amazing horses on the head and heel side shows his dedication to his craft, and I am very honored to have him on the podcast and share some of the things he's learned from all the years of hard work.

Jay Wadhams & Gary Wells
The American Rope Horse Futurity Association has taken the rope horse industry to a new level. With their main event in Fort Worth next week, October 16-19th, I wanted to get two of the guys, Jay Wadhams and Gary Wells, who have a major role in the success of this association, on for a more in-depth talk about what all is happening, break down the judging side of things a little more and give the spectators a closer look at what it takes to make this event happen.
Jay and Lindsay Wadhams have been producing the ARHFA events since its inception. Gary Wells is the head of judges and has done an excellent job of finding the people to decide the winners at these great shows.
The ARHFA World Championship Rope Horse Futurity starts October 16th at 8 a.m. You can catch all the action live online at https://rodeologistics.co/event-livestreams/ or come out to the John Justin Arena at the historic Will Rogers Memorial Center to watch the best ropers and horses compete for the shot at a World Champion title.

Keeping Hair Off Your Horses in the Winter
Keeping your horses slick and shiny during the colder months is more than just putting blankets on, the amount of light they get is the key factor in keeping that hair off. In the last solo podcast for this year, I wanted to pass along the protocol for keeping your horses looking show-ready!
A few spots are left in my final two clinics of the year. All the information for those clinics can be found on my website charlycrawford.training. I am looking forward to a lot of great interview episodes coming up with some of the most talented ropers in the world. Thanks for all the support and for tuning in, God Bless!

We recapped the 2024 season in the world of breakaway, what to be excited about coming up in the future, and a lot more. Thanks to everyone for listening and God Bless!

Ryan Studdard with Oak + Ash Realty
Ryan Studdard is the owner/broker at Oak + Ash Realty out of Burleson, Texas. He grew up competing in all three events on the timed event end of the arena and has been involved in the Western industry his whole life. With interest rates dropping, I wanted Ryan to share his thoughts on what that means for potential homebuyers and how it will affect our industry. Ryan is a great friend and was very generous in coming on the podcast to share his expertise.

Getting Your Horse Out of the Arena
One of the best things you can do for your horse is to ride them somewhere other than inside the arena. Not only is it good for their body, it's good for their mind. Mixing it up and not asking them for everything they've got day in and day out inside the arena is a good reset for them and you too!
There are still spots in my Champion's Level Clinic in November available for purchase on my website charlycrawford.training. The enrollment process is simple, so don't miss out on your opportunity to get tuned up before heading to Vegas for the biggest jackpots of the year!
