Dr. Chalie Buchanan is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and managing partner at Signature Equine Hospital in Stephenville, Texas. Tee Woolman is a legend and an icon in rodeo and the sport of team roping. His accolades include 3 World Titles, 35 NFR qualifications, 26 as a header, and 19 in steer roping, and Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame Inductee. He rode multiple AQHA horse of the year winners like Dutch and Megazord, along with many other stand-out horses in his career. Tee and I talk about what rodeoing was like in the late 70's with legends like Leo "The Lion" Camarillo, then through the 80's and 90's with other greats like Jake Barnes, Clay O'Brien Cooper, Speed, and Rich. So many great stories and characters came from those era's of rodeo, and it was a blast getting to relive those moments with one of the best to ever swing a head rope. Keith Mundee is the President of American Hat Co., which specializes in manufacturing the highest quality Felt and Straw hats that you've probably seen on the heads of your favorite rodeo athletes and even some actors on shows like Yellowstone. Martha and Sarah Angelone are sisters who made their way from humble beginnings in Virginia to center stage in the sports of breakaway. It was inspiring to hear their stories of waiting tables and working odd jobs just to make enough for entry fees, to now roping and training horses full time and making a living with a rope in their hand! Martha is a World Champion Breakaway roper and multiple-time qualifier to the National Finals of Breakaway, and Sarah is a NFBR qualifier and is known for her talents as a trainer and dominating at the futurity level. This was a fun episode full of laughs and great stories; I can't thank these two enough for coming on and sharing their story. Marty Becker is a two-time NFR Qualifier in tie-down roping who grew up in the saddle on a ranch just north of the Montana border in Alberta, Canada. He now calls Texas home, where he spends his days training young horses and teaching people how to rope. Marty is a phenomenal team roper, and his understanding of the sport makes him a great coach and mentor. We talk about how he got his start in Pro Rodeo coming from Canada, the dedication that it took, and what it was like being brought along by some of the most iconic names in Canadian Rodeo history. Steve Kenyon might be a familiar voice coming over the air, from announcing to keeping everyone up to date with the current events in the rodeo world through Western Sports Round Up on the Cowboy Channel and through his podcast, The Steve Kenyon Show, he is a well-known figure in our industry. I grew up hearing his voice at all the Oregon High School Rodeo events, and our friendship has grown from there. Chad Decker is one the founders of the world-famous Hard 8 BBQ in Stephenville, Texas. This family-owned and operated restaurant has been serving the best Texas-style pit BBQ since 2003. They now have 5 locations all across the greater DFW area. Chad grew up a cowboy in Llano, Texas; he recalls his younger days, spending time around legends of the sport of team roping like Popeye Boultinghouse, Tee Woolman, and Bobby Harris. His more recent business venture has been diving into the rope horse futurity game under the brand Hardway Land and Livestock along with partner Wilkes Barnett and -47 Barret Angus.
