Steve Northcott is a ten-time NFR qualifier, two-time NFR average winner, and the World Champion Heeler in 1996. Steve is a legend of the sport and got to rope behind some of the most significant headers of his time like Charles Pogue and Steve Purcella. He is still very invested in the team roping world, but now from the sidelines watching his son Nicky make a name for himself with his recent win at the LoneStar Shootout where he and two-time World Champion header Kaleb Driggers bested the field and split $60,000 and took home new horse trailers. It was great to hear Steve's perspective on where the sport was when he was competing to where it is now and what contributed to the changes we've seen over the years. Dustin Egusquiza is a 7-time NFR Qualifier, the current number one header in the world standings, and is fresh off a win at one of the biggest rodeos of the year, the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. He is known for being one of the fastest and most consistent headers in the game, and now, with a new horse in his already impressive string of horses, he has found his groove again at the jackpots. Dustin isn't just insanely talented with his rope, he works hard at his craft and is a student of the sport, always trying to figure out how to get better and go faster. It's always a pleasure to sit and chat with someone at the very top of their game, and this episode is no different.
