In week six of our series on the Gospel of Mark, we see Jesus model what it looks like to slip away to spend time alone with the Father. Pastor Kevin unpacks Mark 1:35 and how the power of prayer in silence and solitude can fuel us just like it did for Jesus. If we want to flourish, we must prioritize the presence of God – nothing else can fuel us for a flourishing life. The more time we spend with Jesus, the more we become like Him. In week four of our series on the Gospel of Mark, Pastor Kevin dives into Mark 1:16–20, a powerful passage where Jesus calls Simon Peter, Andrew, James and John to leave everything behind and follow Him. This moment marks the beginning of their discipleship journey, and reminds us of our own. Following Jesus is how we truly flourish. Jesus calls us to lead, to step outside of our comfort zones and to take bold, faith-filled risks. In order to follow Him fully, we all have things we need to lay down. So what might that be for you? In week three of our series on the book of Mark, Pastor Kevin shares another story of baptism. In Mark 1:9-11, Jesus was baptized to identify with us. It’s a reminder that He won’t ask us to do something He hasn’t already done. Just as we use baptism to repent, we also use fasting and prayer to deal with our heart issues when we are tempted.

In week two of our series on the book of Mark, Pastor Kevin shares the story of John the Baptist on this Baptism Sunday. In Mark 1:4-8, John encourages others to get baptized so they can get ready for Jesus. It’s one way Christians can repent and show their obedience to the Lord. Baptism also helps us stay grounded in a disoriented world.
