Probiotics can drastically improve your health but it is important to know how to select the correct one for you. More is not better, that is a marketing ploy that can be wasteful or actually harmful. Each strain has a particular effect and should be used prescriptively. Get your probiotic from people who have experience with the products and are qualified to understand what they are selling. Only use products that have gone through human trials. Find the research, for their particular product, do not be fooled by companies who use outsourced studies of minor ingredients in their products without ever testing the actual product. 26: Kiran Krishnan : The Gut-Brain Axis

This Week Sinclair spoke with Kiran Krishnan, a microbiologist who co-founded "Microbiome Labs". Instead of waiting to treat you when you become severely ill, Kiran will teach you simple lifestyle changes that can have drastic effects on your lifelong health by understanding our place in nature and the balance of our own gut biome. The Gut-Brain Axis with Kiran Krishnan We have created a world that is "Anti-human" In this episode, Sinclair speaks with Microbiologist Kiran Krishnan, Co-founder of "Microbiome Labs" He will teach you what the Microbiome is, what has caused it to become imbalanced and how you can take simple steps to heal your gut. Instead of focusing on symptoms, today's episode explores daily changes that can prevent diseases from forming in the body. Regardless of what stage of healing you are in, Karin teaches us that ,We are not the disease. Most sickness comes from lifestyle so by the same logic we can regain our health through lifestyle as well. Key Ideas: Microbiome Labs [5:28] The Folly of Marketing driven product development [7:24] We are dealing with an explosion of chronic conditions [10:39] What are Lifestyle disorders? 13:09] Leaky gut is the main source of inflammation [15:00] The 3 main causes of chronic diseases: roundup, antibiotics and disconnection from the natural microbial environment [19:45] How to navigate all the conflicting information [28:00] Simple changes for profound effects: Intermittent fasting, probiotics, reducing inflammation, diversifying your diet and mindfulness [33:45] The Gut Brain Axis: how our prolonged Fight or Flight response is harming us [40:00] Peptidoglycan and child development [47:00] Zen Biome: reducing neural inflammation [50:00] Functional medicine: rebuilding the foundation by addressing the root cause [52:00] Where to find the Guest: https://microbiomelabs.com/home/about/ @microbiomelabs Memorable Quotes: " Prior to the initiation of the "Human Genome Project" the assumption was that for every chronic illness that we deal with, we are going to find a gene that's driving it. That chronic illness was largely driven by genetic mishaps. If you have heart disease you have a heart disease gene, if you have a cancer of some sort you have a cancer gene, and sure genetics play some component of it but it's a much more MINOR component than we ever imagined" [11:25] " The big question is "How are we this sophisticated?" Well, that's because we harbor 2.5 million microbial genes in our system. So we have 150-200 times more microbial genetic material in our system that we use to function as a human, then we have human genes. [12:17] "Over the last 4 million years We've evolved to be WITHIN nature. We are supposed to be in this constant osmosis with the natural environment, we're shedding organisms, we're picking up organisms, we're picking up genetic material and proteins and peptides, and all of these things from the natural world but then we've gone and divorced from it. [16:30] "Absence is just as bad as deliberate toxicity" [27:19] "Lack of hope has a huge impact on your microbiome which increases inflammation and that will actually perpetuate the condition." [29:13] "You are NOT your illness, people define themselves by the illness that they have suffered from for years and that is a manifestation of the illness in itself. I meet lots of people where they should basically introduce themselves like "Hi my name is Sibo" or "Hi, my name is Eczema" because that's their whole identity. And I understand it but they need to detach themselves from that illness. That illness is a temporary thing and it will get better, so don't embrace it as part of your identity." [30:04] "The pathology is the same, The only difference is the degree in which the pathology is present. So, everything that a chronically ill person should do, is the same thing a high functioning person that doesn't feel good, should do and vice versa because we are working on the basic foundation of health" [39:28] "The gut acts as a checkpoint for allowing you to come down from the stressor after you experience it. The gut is the key checkpoint If you have certain bacteria in your gut, they will actually undue the fight or flight response. [45:26] "We don't have enough genes in our system to do all the functions we need to be human, we've outsourced a lot of those critical functions to microbes that we harbor from the environment and if we don't harbor those microbes any longer we lose those functionalities." [48:32] "Symptoms are secondary, lets deal with the root cause first" [54:40] Subscribe to the Podcast here: Apple | Spotify | Stitcher Connect with Sinclair Kennally @detoxrejuvenation https://detoxrejuvenation.com/

23: Sachin Patel : [Top Tips] Wearable Self-Monitoring Health Tools

Today we are talking to Sachin Patel, a personal health advocate and author of the Perfect Practice, about his 3 favorite wearable self-monitoring health tools. He talks about why wearable technology is a great way to receive immediate feedback on how your body is responding to interventions that you are beginning to implement. Such as adjusting our sleep time and meal time. These devices also monitor how these changes affect our overall internal systems within hours of using these wearable tools. Oura Ring – This device tracks your respiratory rate, your REM, and how much you are tossing and turning while you sleep. CGM – Continuous Glucose Monitor. This monitor shows the fluctuations in your glucose by measuring the interface between cortisol and insulin throughout the day. HeartMath – This device measures HRV. HRV measures the resilience of your nervous system. This device gives instant biofeedback and it helps you by using your breath to get into a state of healing. 22: Sachin Patel : How to Reclaim Your Intuition

Short description: In this episode, Sinclair has an inspiring conversation with the functional medicine practice success coach and best-selling author, Sachin Patel. Sachin is a vocal proponent of trusting our intuition to become our own doctor, trust what feels right, have autonomy, and assume responsibility for what happens in our bodies. Using his calm, grounded, and centered tone, he explains how to quiet the noise, get in tune with what we feel inside of us is right, and remove emotions from decision-making. Return To Your True Self and Reclaim Your Intuition with Sachin Patel We are so used to delegating that we put our health care in the hands of people that barely know us without hesitation. In this episode, Sinclair speaks with the functional medicine practice success coach and best-selling author, Sachin Patel. He'll invite you to listen to what feels right to you and take autonomy and responsibility for what you decide to put in your body. We get to decide what we eat, the medicines we take, the thoughts we have and the emotions we attach to them, and the ideas we embrace or ignore. Sachin's proposition is to tune in with and trust our intuition, train the ability to listen to our inner voice, and be confident about our decisions based on that conversation with our true self. Key Ideas: A doctor that sees you once a month can't know more about you than yourself. Kids are very much in tune with their bodies. We should give them more credit and learn from them. Inner intuition is a muscle that can be trained. Ignoring our intuition is the reason why our decision-making processes are so emotional. Why it is essential to keep our spiritual truth in the first place. Curiosity is the best approach to generate conversations about how people feel about certain topics. The importance of reclaiming our autonomic space instead of living in fight or flight mode. Where to Find Sachin: https://linktr.ee/thesachinpatel https://www.linkedin.com/in/drsachinpatel/?originalSubdomain=ca https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/perfect-practice/id1409852371?fbclid=IwAR2Vfq_v7chTc7YIwZSnl0GA5hUAY5uBy2-KC413lGnq2h-MBy5jtl160m0&mt=2 Memorable Quotes: "Most chronic health challenges are caused by poor lifestyle choices because we've delegated so many things." (2:24, Sachin Patel) "Children are very in tune with their bodies. We don't give them as much credit as they probably deserve. They're very in tune, and they don't have that filter. They're not worried about what other people are gonna think, so they fully express themselves" (3:44, Sachin Patel) "There's so much emotion and decision-making, and that's because we're not listening to our intuition." (7:57, Sachin Patel) "We live in this illusionary world where nothing is actually real. The only thing that's real is the soul and the essence of who we are because that's never changing." (10:37, Sachin Patel) "We have this knowledge of what we should be doing, and we've been ignoring that voice perhaps for a long time. And it's scary to hear it so loud and clear. And sometimes, it's scary to acknowledge that I've been ignoring this voice, and I need to start listening to it a little bit." (14:45, Sachin Patel) "I try to stay very grounded and stay right in the middle and approach things from curiosity instead of a place of opinion. When we formulate an opinion, then that's taking a stance. But when we approach something from a place of curiosity, we're open and receptive to whatever answers we might see or whatever answers might be available to us. (20:38, Sachin Patel) "As healthcare practitioners, we know what's right and what's wrong. We know when certain rules are being broken. We know when certain relationships are being violated for our patients. And so we have an obligation to at least warn people as best as we can." (26:26, Sachin Patel) "I had a past life reading, and my head was decapitated for speaking the truth. And here I am: ready to do it all over again. Because we've been given another chance, so to speak, in this lifetime to do that and follow our karmic path in our karmic destiny, our Dharma if you will." 21: [Explained] Liver & Gallbladder Stress: the Hidden Factor in Persistent Gut Issues

Short Description: Today, I am sharing an interview that I did with Laura Frontiero, during the It starts in the Gut Summit, where I discussed root causes for digestive and chronic illnesses. The issue I will discuss will be centered around the liver and gallbladder, which are the most overlooked root causes of chronic illnesses. [Explained] Liver and Gallbladder Stress is the Hidden Reason for Persistent Gut issues A main question that we should ask ourselves in relation to chronic illnesses is, what has changed in the last few decades? Liver and the gallbladder have always been a component of chronic illnesses. In 1960 only 4% of the population had a chronic illness as compared to now, we have over 54% of the population with one. If you dive deeper and look into the statistics on the liver there are 25% of Americans that have fatty liver disease. Something worth noting is that 61% of Americans have had serious chronic digestive issues within the last 7 days. These normally come from liver and gallbladder congestion. In this episode we will discuss the chronic issues caused by the liver and gallbladder. Instead of just looking at the current issue, we will discuss what needs to be done to fix the root causes, before it brings about these downstream chronic illnesses. Key Ideas: Bringing the focus back to the liver and gallbladder. What's different today that our grandparents didn't have to deal with? Crop Pesticides and Herbicides and how it affecting our bodies. What does the gallbladder do? The beautiful liver organ and what it does. What is toxic sluggish bile? The importance of stomach acid. What congestion has to do with digestive issues? The link between the liver and gallbladder and your digestive issues. What are gallstones?
