69: The REAL Gift of Being Rich

What's the real reason you want wealth? The power, the "things" or the social standing? While all those things are great here's my thoughts on being wealthy just to be wealthy. "Don't get rich just to get rich because you won't feel any different than you do today." Get rich for the gift of who you become during the process to get there. Money isn't going to make a lick of difference unless you change who you are. Now don't get me wrong – I'm sure you're an amazing individual already – but we're looking for the upleveled version of you. "The wealthy you should be an enhanced version of what you are today." You have to grow new strengths, be more open, expand your network and people and become more giving. After all, the more you give, the more you get, right? "In order to really grow wealthy, you need to really grow." Yes, that means you need to be more consistent and more disciplined. But it also means – and here's the kicker – you need to be more caring! "Becoming wealthy is really a side effect of solving more peoples' needs than you are today." How will your money make someone's life better? Most of the successful people I know and hang around don't talk about their wealth or all the things they have. Instead they talk about the impact they're making and who they want to help next. It's not about what you get back. Becoming the enhanced version of yourself is THE ultimate gift because it's about the person you get to be as you make your way through this life. The money and possessions are just the icing on the cake. In This Episode You Will Learn: What the ultimate gift of being wealthy is Why becoming wealthy has the potential to create a more enhanced version of yourself Why growth is required to increase your wealth Resources: 2018 For the Love of Money Mastermind Apply to be a part of it at: http://ForTheLoveOfMoney.com/mastermind For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

68: Is The PURSUIT of Money Just a MASK of MASCULINITY with Lewis Howes

I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of my friend and mentor, Lewis Howe's book, Mask of Masculinity. I devoured the book in just a couple of days and love how it brought me just as many moments of enlightenment and breakthroughs as it did resistance. And this is why I was so honored to have an in-person interview with Lewis the other day to talk about it. If you're a man who wants to understand the masks he wears or a woman who wants to obtain the "keys to the kingdom" and the tools to connect with the men in her life, I definitely recommend buying the book (or pre-ordering – it releases Oct. 31) and for sure listening to this episode as he explains more about his journey with this book and also gives an in-depth into his sincere and giving nature. -- Question Highlights: Why did you write Mask of Masculinity and why right now? Was the book a healing process for you as well as other men? Do women wear these masks as well? Which of the 9 different masks did you tend to wear the most? When did wearing one of these masks really cost you something? How have these masks shown up in your business? What if someone likes their masks? How do we know if we have a healthy mindset? Do you ever find yourself purposely trying to avoid masks? What is one of your all-time favorite moments of giving? And more… In This Episode You Will Learn: Why Lewis wrote Mask of Masculinity How his new book helps men let go of their ego and heal How men are conditioned to react with anger and frustration What ways men use masks to fit in or to ensure they're worthy of acceptance How we can break out of our default masks by getting to the root cause of them The importance of being aware of things that trigger your masks When money feels fulfilling or unfulfilling Why it's necessary to have regular conversations about money The reason why Lewis still drives a 1991 Cadillac he bought for $4,000 Why having a holistic lifestyle is a non-negotiable for Lewis What the rewards and prices of wearing masks are And so much more… Lewis's Thoughts… "If we want to be ultimate human beings, we should be committed to our vision, not our egos, which hurt us." "Reacting is never as good as responding from a place of grace." "How can I be driven to achieve what I want, but make sure I'm living in harmony as well?" "Be who you want to be and embrace it, but have peace in your heart." "Ultimate fulfillment is when we continue to grow and contribute to others." "If self-worth is based on a mask, it's temporary." "Even if you can't give financially, you can still give your heart and energy to people and it will feel amazing." "Don't stop being who you are. Step into who you fully are by embracing a holistic lifestyle." "The more you achieve and succeed, the more of an example you can set for others." -- Before LEWIS HOWES became a media sensation for empowering people and sharing 'Greatness' across the globe, he had his share of obstacles to overcome. From having a learning disability, which led to being alone and bullied in school, to being sexually abused as a child, to being injured and broke on his sister's couch, Lewis's story is the perfect example of how anybody can overcome the obstacles in their life and achieve greatness. Fast forward a few short years, and Lewis is a New York Times Bestselling author of the hit book, The School of Greatness and releases his new book, Mask of Masculinity on Oct. 31. He is a lifestyle entrepreneur, high performance business coach and keynote speaker. A former professional football player and two-sport All-American, he is a current USA Men's National Handball Team athlete. He hosts a top 100 podcast in the world, The School of Greatness, which has over 40 million downloads since it launched in 2013. He was recognized by The White House and President Obama as one of the top 100 entrepreneurs in the country under 30. Lewis has been featured on Ellen, The New York Times, People, Forbes, Inc, Fast Company, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Men's Health, The Today Show and other major media outlets. 67: The Fastest Way Out of Financial Struggle

Do you know someone (or are you that someone) who struggles with growing their income? Today we're going to crack the code of this financial struggle wide open and talk about ways to eliminate it! Most often people think that it's because the person is lazy, scared, or afraid to try new things. Or perhaps that they lack drive or the resources. I believe that it's none of the above. In my opinion, I believe it's because these people aren't regularly expanding their minds. They become stuck because they're not shifting paradigms and they're not seeking different perspectives. "You cannot expect to have new levels of success with old levels of growth." You will never reach new heights in your business if you are still applying old ideas and methods. "When you exercise your mind, everything else expands right along with it." So how do you exercise your mind anyway? I say, expand, expand, expand! Expand your circle of influence (you will likely transcend some in your current circle) Expand your ability to jump over hurdles that get in your way Expand your motivation and drive Expand your business acumen Some of the best ways to do the above is through books, podcasts, coaches and masterminds. If you really want to bust out of that financial rut, all of the above apply. I know it's a lot, but if nothing changes, nothing changes. "You need new ideas to reach new levels of growth." Read new books that offer opposing views. Attend high-level events. Yes, it will be scary as hell, but you will leave a totally different, more expanded person (trust me!). And if you commit to growing your mind and your standards – you will grow your income as well. In This Episode You Will Learn: Why people remain stuck in financial struggle What isn't holding people back Ways to expand your mind and grow financial success Resources: 2018 For the Love of Money Mastermind Apply to be a part of it at: http://ForTheLoveOfMoney.com/mastermind For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

66: From Trailer Park to Tech Mogul - The Inventor of Face Filters Jeremy Greene

By all accounts, today's guest and CEO of PingTank, Jeremy Greene, shouldn't be running one of the most successful tech companies around. As a child who grew up poor, spent years in the foster care system and barely graduated high school, he was certainly not groomed to be an entrepreneur, but there was one difference… he had an innate sense to survive and hustle to get where he's at today. From a start in the music business to the face filters you see today in social media, Jeremy's 8-Mile-esque story is mind-blowing. If you're looking for an inside scoop on pitching your ideas and turning them into realities, Jeremy's no-nonsense talk will set you straight about what works – and what doesn't. -- Question Highlights: Tell us how you got started in the music industry Why did you drop your career in music? Where did you get the posture to present yourself to billionaires? When you were figuring out how to be an entrepreneur, were there setbacks? What's your best trait as an entrepreneur? How do you get people to say yes? Where did you get your huge financial thermostat from? Do you feel that you're able to make a bigger impact because of your wealth? Where do you like to make an impact with your money? And more… In This Episode You Will Learn: How Jeremy went from trailer park to tech mogul How Jeremy got his start in the music business Why Jeremy shifted his focus from music to technology Why you must fail in order to succeed The importance of instilling a fear of missing out mentality when pitching your product What Jeremy's new app Mojiit is all about How one can make in impact without money Why hustling is so important to get the money to build a bigger platform Tips on how to part ways from people you've outgrown And so much more… Jeremy's Thoughts… "I really understand that marketing plays a big aspect in everything you do in life." "If you could create and sell people on a product and you can build a good product, you could convince anyone to be a part of it." "Building a good company starts with building an amazing product first, marketing it right and giving people the fear of missing out." "You don't learn anything until you have failures behind you." "If you want to disrupt anything, it starts with just being OK with the comfortability of you first. You can't sell something to other people if you don't believe it yourself." "Money doesn't buy you happiness, but it makes you comfortable." "Money doesn't define who you are and what you become. Where you grow up does not define where you'll be one day. It's OK to outgrow people, places and things." "You don't need money to be successful. You have everything that's built within you to be successful." "If you have money in the bank and you're not helping people, you're an a**hole." "Do what you love." -- Jeremy Greene is an American serial entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California . He grew up in Maine. Greene was the number one musical artist on Myspace and ended up receiving record deals with P Diddy. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Mojiit. After his musical career ended Greene was inspired by The Social Network Movie to start a tech company and founded PingTank with a friend. Greene received publicity for his marketing stunts, including faking his arrest at a large party and then bringing out Tyga and Kylie Jenner for an impromptu performance. PingTank later did a deal with Facebook to be incorporated into Facebook Messenger. In early 2016, Green launced FwayGoApp, a party invitation and discovery application. In July 2017, he started Mojiit (Company) . 65: How to Create Explosive Growth through Masterminding!

Today we're doing a deep-dive on the topic of masterminds – why they work, what you might not know, how you can create or become a part of one yourself, and so much more. First off, let's define what a mastermind is. A mastermind is essentially a group of people all working together to mastermind on each other's business (or another area). "The idea is to go into a mastermind with massive, audacious goals and come out on the other end smashing those goals." Lori and I have personally invested and been involved in two business masterminds – one we didn't complete, however we still learned so much from it. Our most recent has been a raging success exploding our income with an additional seven figures beyond our existing goal. So how was this success possible? Below are some key areas that will help ensure a healthy ROI on your investment: Family mentality: Everyone is treated as family and everyone is open to helping each other when they can facilitate – think any aspect of business that you don't know how to do Group diversity: It's necessary to have a diverse group of people and skills to ensure different perspectives Size is key: Not too small, not too big – 20-25 people is ideal Duration: A year commitment allows any breakthroughs to be implemented and completed Enough touchpoints to ensure accountability (quarterly, monthly and weekly) At the same point financially heading toward the same (or similar) financial goal "When you get all the layers right, your significant investment turns into multiple returns." Masterminds are a magical formula that combines ideas, support, accountability and connections that when utilized correctly can help you reach your goals. Don't try to do everything alone when you could literally have 20 or more people making life easier for you. Instead mastermind and catapult your business to new heights. In This Episode You Will Learn: What a mastermind is Why masterminds are crucial if you're trying to smash your goals How Chris and Lori have received ROI with their masterminds Tips to ensure a successful mastermind How you can be a part of the 2018 For the Love of Money Mastermind Resources: 2018 For the Love of Money Mastermind Apply to be a part of it at: http://ForTheLoveOfMoney.com/mastermind For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

63: The REAL Reason 95% of Businesses Fail

So, why do so many businesses fail, or more to the point, why do so many not even get off the ground? It may surprise you to know that often it's not because it's a bad business. It's not because it's a bad idea or product, and it's not because the person isn't a good "business person." "The reason 95% of all businesses fail is because everyone is allowed to call themselves an entrepreneur without actually acting like an entrepreneur." So many people seem to think that being an entrepreneur is this fun, romantic and energizing endeavor – like a magical entrepreneurial movie. But it's actually quite the opposite. It's gritty, dirty, scary and downright uncomfortable at times. Entrepreneurship consumes your life. "You don't build a business in your spare time, you build your business all the time." If you're not willing to do that, your business and your entrepreneurial career isn't likely to go too far. It's all about going that extra mile. You ask for help. You face rejection over and over. You have to learn what you don't already know to reach your goals. True entrepreneurs do all the above (and more). And when they do, their business success follows. In This Episode You Will Learn: Why so many businesses don't even get off the ground Why even good businesses fail About the traits necessary to be an entrepreneur Resources: Lori Harder's The Bliss Project March 2-4, 2018 – Newport Beach, CA TheBlissProject.info For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

62: The Secret to MORE PROFITABILITY with Thor Conklin

I think you're all really going to love my conversation with founder of Peak Performance Group and profitability expert, Thor Conklin. He first caught wind of entrepreneurship while caddying for successful businesspeople at the age of 13. Not only did he help them navigate through challenging golf courses, he also asked questions, listened and learned tips on navigating his own businesses down the road. Of course he didn't start any at that age, but he credits many foundational elements to that time in his life. Today, Thor does his best to pay it forward by being the "caddie" for others in their businesses by helping them maneuver around problem areas or obstacles that can stray one off their path to profitability. He challenges his clients (and others) to use accountability as a tool to reach new levels of success (hint: you don't have to do it alone!). I love how Thor operates both in his businesses and his life – giving both his time and money to ensure others are moving forward to create maximum results (see special offer below). Be sure to listen to the full episode as he drops some amazing nuggets of knowledge that can help you get out of your own way and take action. -- Question Highlights: Being a caddie, and being around business people, what's the lesson that stands out the most to you? Who's one of the people who's had the biggest impact on the successful life you live? What does it mean to be a senior leader with Tony Robbins, and what kind of exposure did you have to him? What kind of impact has this relationship had on your life? Do you have a preparation ritual before you speak to or meet with people? Do you feel like the most successful people have some sort of strong morning ritual they start with? What are your thoughts when it comes to entrepreneurs regarding profit vs. revenue? Do you think we live in a time where people are being overfed knowledge? What's typically the biggest waste you see when you dig into someone's profitability? Do you have any tips to help people stop their limiting mindsets? What are your thoughts on profit? Have you seen a correlation between profit and impact? What role has generosity played in your life? In This Episode You Will Learn: How Thor used his job as caddie when he was younger to learn about business How Thor became a senior leader within the Tony Robbins Organization Why a morning ritual is part of most successful people's lives What work/life balance means to Thor How PEAK Performance is able to help you – Profitability, Execution, Accountability and Knowledge Why execution and accountability trump knowledge What components make up Thor's Ultimate Success Map Why it's so important to find someone that you pay to hold you accountable Tips to help stop limiting beliefs Thor's views on profit That there is no honor in trying to do things alone And so much more… Chris's Thoughts… "If you can't turn those sales into profits and those profits into cash, then why are we doing what we're doing?" "Most people think that they're business owners, but their business owns them." "People know what to do. They just can't figure out how to get it done." "Knowledge is not power. Correct knowledge applied properly is power." "We don't want to admit that the problem might be us." "You need to make money so you can give it away." "I want to know that I had a hand in the psychology, the process and the actions of an individual." "Wealth is a byproduct of a value provided to the marketplace." -- Thor Conklin is a business owner, author, Consultant and content-driven podcaster. As an entrepreneur, the first company Thor created was a global risk management consulting firm in 1999 that served the private equity community. His top 15 clients had a combined revenue of $8.7 billion USD and operated in over 100 countries worldwide. Since that time he has bought and sold several multi-million dollar businesses making him a sought after, cross-industrial resource for entrepreneurs and executives in all stages of business. Thor is gritty, experienced and accessible as he brings to bear what holds people back from realizing their full potential. Through his latest venture, Peak Performance Nation, he teaches the tools, tips, tricks and strategies necessary to be a Peak Performer. 61: If You Just Had FAITH - A True Story

Today I want to talk about having faith and how it ties to abundance. Faith is no small thing. It truly has the power to make or break different situations in your life. If you believe it will happen, it will happen. You don't have to know the how or the where… you just have to know. It's acting on something even when you're scared because you know abundance is out there. My trainer, Abe, recently had a faith-testing situation. He hadn't had a vacation in five years and desperately wanted to unplug with a month-long trip in Bali. But of course there was fear around it. Obviously a vacation like that is a lot of money, but on top of that, he wouldn't be getting paid for that entire month while he was away. Long story short, Abe booked the vacation on faith. "I had faith that the finances would work out." And they did! Abe's finances appeared seemingly out of the blue. Here's how abundance showed up for him… I hired him to train me 3-4 sessions a week. Plus, he received a surprise bonus and had the busiest month of his career the month before he left. Long story short? Abe came back from his trip fully rested and more abundant than ever. Now, I've oversimplified the ease at which this all happened, because after all, faith is not intuitive to our brains. Our brains send out the emergency flares any time fear starts creeping in to keep us safe. But this is the exact spot where we need to interrupt those thoughts and do the opposite – no matter how uncomfortable it makes us. "Just because it doesn't feel intuitive doesn't mean it doesn't work." Let blind faith lead you. Don't let fearful thoughts get in the way. Abundance only happens when you truly feel the faith at your core. In This Episode You Will Learn: How one man acted on faith and attracted abundance Why you don't have to know the how or where in all situations Why it's so important to have faith to attract abundance Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.
