Recruiting Headlines from Breezy.hr, Hireology, Triplebyte, Spur and Uncubed

Hireology, the leading recruitment CRM for multi-location, decentralized enterprises, today announced it has closed $27 million in Series D financing led by Blue Cloud Ventures, with full participation from current investors Bain Capital Ventures and Baird Venture Partners, as well as Silicon Valley Bank. This latest round of investment brings its total capital raised to $60.5 million and underscores Hireology’s momentum and position of strength in the market. Funds will be used to accelerate the company’s growth in new market verticals and to create features that further differentiate its product offering. “Hireology’s world class product and razor sharp focus on its customers’ success in attracting, recruiting and onboarding talent has positioned the company as the go-to recruitment management platform for the automotive and healthcare sectors,” said Mir Arif, Managing Partner of Blue Cloud Ventures. “We are excited to partner with Adam and the Hireology team on the next phase of their growth.” Hireology has experienced sustained, rapid growth, recently surpassing 6,500 customers and 200 employees. New recruitment marketing and candidate CRM solutions have transformed how customers attract, hire and integrate talent in today’s competitive hiring market. This spring further saw the release of new functionality including enhanced SEO capabilities, text-to-recruit options and passive sourcing solutions. https://recruitingheadlines.com/hireology-closes-27-million-in-funding/ Spur, a new and innovative employment platform that redefines the relationship between hourly workers and employers who depend on them, announced today that it raised $8 million in a Series A funding round led by Third Prime with participation from Mark Bezos and John Griffin, founder of Blue Ridge Capital. Spur also appointed Bezos to its Board of Directors. This investment marks one of the largest venture rounds ever raised by an Alabama-based company. Spur is addressing a significant market opportunity in the hourly worker economy, which is comprised of approximately 78 million workers or nearly 60 percent of all American jobs.  Spur’s platform offers workplaces such as hotels, restaurants, and other businesses with hourly workforces a managed solution for all their employment needs that saves them time and money, while also improving the benefits and services available to the workforce. “We started Spur with a mission to provide workers greater access to opportunity and ultimately improve their quality of life. We’re doing that by partnering with businesses and other organizations to take on all the responsibilities associated with managing HR and payroll for their hourly workforces and then ensuring those workers are well taken care of over the course of their employment,” said Glenn Clayton, founder and chief executive officer, Spur.  “We believe most businesses want to treat their workers well – we’re just making it easier and more cost effective than ever before to deliver on that goal.” Spur’s platform combines innovative employment technology with a focus on managing hourly workforces.  Spur becomes the official employer of record of a business’s hourly workforce thereby helping them reduce costs and save time by eliminating all HR and payroll functions. Businesses using the platform simply schedule their employees and approve their time through Spur’s app, and then Spur’s platform takes care of everything else. https://recruitingheadlines.com/hourly-workforce-management-tool-gets-8-million-series-a-funding/ San Francisco startup TripleByte which uses coding quizzes and machine learning to match would-be employees with open jobs has raised $35 million in a Series B financing round led by YC Continuity, Y Combinator’s investment fund. After a year in which revenue grew three times (over $1 million monthly) and headcount doubled from 20 to 40, it’s attracted funding from a raft of investors including Y Combinator. Harj Taggar, CEO and cofounder said that the fresh funds will enable Triplebyte to expand beyond silicon valley into Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, and Boston later in the year. https://recruitingheadlines.com/tech-recruiting-platform-gets-35-million/ Uncubed, a leading online talent acquisition and recruitment marketing platform, has announced the acquisition of New York-based Mediabistro, the premier careers site for the media sector and other digital professionals. Following the acquisition, Uncubed will provide new services and an expanded offering to the Mediabistro customer base, including employer branding video services, customized recruiting services, candidate experience technology, and events. Mediabistro members and jobseekers will get access to additional content and job opportunities. “Mediabistro has been the dominant careers site in the media sector for years,” said Chris Johnson, CEO of Uncubed. “We’re excited to bring our offering, technology, and events to Mediabistro customers – and to help them attract candidates with other skillsets. Similarly, we can now deliver a lot more value to Uncubed customers through the Mediabistro platform.” Mediabistro will bring complementary jobseeker talent to the Uncubed network, which has traditionally been weighted towards software developers, data scientists, product managers, and others. With the Mediabistro community comprised largely of content creators, designers, and marketers, Uncubed will be able to provide a complete array of skillsets to customers. Uncubed intends to operate the Mediabistro site independently, yet members of both communities will benefit from increased access to editorial and skill-building content, a wider set of job opportunities, and the candidate matching technology that Uncubed continues to develop. https://recruitingheadlines.com/uncubed-acquires-career-site-mediabistro/ London based Learning Technologies Group plc (LTG), a provider of integrated talent management and learning technologies software and services, has announced the acquisition of Breezy HR in Jacksonville, Florida. Breezy HR provides small to medium businesses (SMBs) with feature-rich, intuitive and user-friendly recruitment software in order to optimize their processes and maximize productivity. The acquisition brings a range of benefits to LTG and Breezy HR itself. The addition of Breezy HR to LTG’s best-of-breed talent and learning businesses is expected to further consolidate the Group’s position in the talent acquisition marketplace, extending its existing enterprise client base to include a new small to medium businesses audience. Recruiting Headlines from iHire, Loxo, Zoho, MomRelaunch, Talent Brew

iHire Releases State of Online Recruiting Report Inaugural report addresses challenges and opportunities for bridging the gap between employers and qualified talent iHire announces its inaugural State of Online Recruiting report, highlighting the results of a survey of more than 1,650 U.S. employers and job seekers across more than 50 industries. As employers and job seekers struggle to find the right talent and the right careers, respectively, this report identifies the challenges and opportunities for bridging the gap between these two groups. The top survey findings detailed in iHire’s State of Online Recruiting 2019 report include:      The quest for qualified talent is heating up: 53.5% of employers are not receiving applicants who meet their needs. When asked to cite their No. 1 challenge when recruiting through an online job board, website, or community, employers’ top two responses included: “I receive too many irrelevant applicants” (30.9%) and “I receive too many underqualified applicants” (22.6%).        Stronger two-way communication is needed between employers and candidates: 26.4% of job seekers said their top online job search challenge was not hearing back from employers after applying and/or interviewing. However, this ghosting in the hiring process goes both ways: 5.8% of employers surveyed said “being ghosted by candidates” was their top challenge, while 4.6% cited “reaching out to applicants and not hearing back.”        Job seekers and employers aren’t aligned on the importance of company culture: 62.6% of job seekers said they are more likely to apply to an ad if it includes company culture information, yet less than half of employers (46.1%) said they include this information in their ads.   For more insights search the keyword ihire on recruitingheadlines.com to read more https://recruitingheadlines.com/ihire-releases-state-of-online-recruiting-report/ Zoho, a global, privately held company that offers the most comprehensive suite of business software applications in the industry, announced its forward momentum with more than 45 million users across 180 countries, at a revenue growth rate of 39 percent year-over-year. Mom Relaunch offers a comprehensive program to ensure that tech companies are getting talent that are ready and relevant. With our team of skilled moms, we will be able to help tech companies bridge the diversity gap” said Reena Gupta, Founder and CEO of Mom Relaunch. https://recruitingheadlines.com/mom-relaunch-and-techscreen-partner-to-help-moms-go-back-to-work/ TMP Worldwide, a global leader in talent acquisition technologies, today announced the release of Priority Score – a proprietary machine learning model for predicting and acting upon job performance. The new technology quickly identifies openings that are lacking necessary or receiving an inordinate amount of candidate flow and automates alerts and actions across the TalentBrew platform and into search, social and programmatic media channels. Built on top of TMP’s job classification engine, Priority Score leverages hundreds of millions of interactions to forecast an expected performance for individual and groups of openings by using information from similar jobs in the same market. Signals are then utilized to automate steps aimed at boosting traffic for jobs at risk of underperformance and reallocating funds and effort for those jobs that are over performing. “Incorporating predictive AI into process automation carries risks that can only be mitigated if the dataset is both extensive and carefully governed. Due to the depth and quality of our data, we’re excited to release another industry leading feature available exclusively to users of TMP’s TalentBrew platform,” explains Todd Maycunich, Vice President, Product Innovation. “Automating actions designed to drive candidate flow to jobs that need it takes pressure off sourcers and recruiters and can help save money and reframe how talent acquisition teams spend their time.” https://recruitingheadlines.com/tmp-worldwide-launches-priority-score-feature-for-its-talentbrew-platform/ Learn more about your ad choices. Recruiting Headlines from LinkedIn, Capterra, EmployStream, BlueCrew, H&M

Sponsored by Hiretual.com H & M, Hennes and Mauritz Inc., one of the world’s largest fashion retailers famous for offering fashion and quality at the best price in a sustainable way, is happy to announce the launch of its latest Place of Possible (P.O.P) campaign; H&M’s employer branding campaign aimed at attracting the best in retail talent. The campaign aims to show people looking for a great place to start a career that H&M is truly the place of possible, the place to be! Featuring the brand’s own employees from H&M locations around the country, this year’s campaign builds on the intrinsic H&M value of “we are one team” and takes a deeper dive into the idea of community at H&M as represented by the phrase “me, us, we and you”.   Several key changes will be made to the part time employee benefit program beginning this year, offering opportunities for H&M employees that will put a focus on both their professional and personal needs. One of the most exciting changes is a weekly schedule commitment with options ranging up to 12 minimum hours guaranteed for part time employees from March through December.  This year, employees will also be able to use a new scheduling mobile application which will allow more flexibility and an easier process to pick up hours and swap shifts. In addition, H&M is proud to offer six weeks of paid parental leave to eligible part time employees. https://recruitingheadlines.com/hm-launches-new-employer-branding-campaign/ CHICAGO, March 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — BlueCrew, an on-demand platform for flexible W-2 work that connects motivated workers with sustainable employment, announced plans for its platform to be live across 30 markets nationwide this year, with expansion to Chicago, Detroit, Miami, Minneapolis, and Phoenix among others. The company’s market expansion follows a year that saw revenue triple thanks to accelerated adoption from employers. On the heels of this growth, BlueCrew has appointed IAC executive Adam Roston as CEO, while founder Gino Rooney will resume his prior role as CTO overseeing all product and technology for the company. Today also marks the opening of BlueCrew’s new headquarters in downtown Chicago’s theMART (formerly Merchandise Mart), which will house more than 100 new hires across engineering, product, sales, and operations. BlueCrew is disrupting traditional staffing – a total addressable market worth more than $130 billion in the U.S. and $400 billion globally – with a platform that instantly connects quality workers with open jobs using proprietary data and algorithms to identify the best matches in real time. BlueCrew’s platform fills over 90 percent of employer jobs, many times within minutes, compared to traditional staffing agencies that fill 60-70 percent over several weeks. Unlike gig economy apps that are heavily fueled by contractor workforces, BlueCrew’s platform exclusively features W-2 jobs. https://recruitingheadlines.com/bluecrew-will-expand-to-30-markets-by-end-of-2019/ CLEVELAND, March 27, 2019 — EmployStream, the leading provider for onboarding automation to the staffing industry, today announced it has closed a $3.5 million Series A funding round led by JumpStart Inc., with support from several key investors including Ohio Innovation Fund, North Coast Angel Fund and Rev1 Ventures. EmployStream will use the capital to expand its product development, marketing and sales efforts in order to increase its footprint in the staffing industry. The funding will accelerate the company’s growth in the staffing industry, with a plan to expand to other industries with high-volume hiring needs and high turnover challenges. “This round of investment allows us to add the resources and capabilities we need to meet the rapidly growing demand from the customers and markets we currently serve, as well as bring our offerings to other market segments with similar needs,” said Gerald Hetrick, Chief Executive Officer of EmployStream. “The continued support of the local community, as well as the addition of the Ohio Innovation Fund, are all great accelerators that will set EmployStream on a path to success for the foreseeable future.” https://recruitingheadlines.com/onboarding-automation-tool-lands-3-5-million-in-funding/   Capterra, the leading online resource for business software buyers, released findings from its latest survey of small and mid-size business leaders across vertical markets to understand how SMBs are choosing talent management solutions and their implications on businesses. Capterra’s Talent Management Industry User Research Report revealed that price heavily impacts talent management solution decisions, surpassing ease of use as a key factor across SMBs. This focus on price creates a disconnect for small business leaders trying to choose the “right” software for their organization, as they’re using low price as the main driver when buying software. “Understanding how buyers successfully leverage talent management solutions can help small business leaders make wise decisions based on their company’s size, resources, and software needs,” said Brian Westfall, principal analyst at Capterra and the survey’s lead analyst. “While low cost may seem like the most important aspect of software, choosing a solution solely based on price can create more issues than most SMBs are prepared to handle.” Key findings include: Importance of price: Price has surpassed ease of use as the second most important factor behind functionality in talent management software purchase decisions for all SMBs and is the primary factor for the smallest SMBs. Software search expectation vs. reality: 45% of users took 10 months or more to research and choose their talent management software, despite only 18% expecting the search to take that long. https://recruitingheadlines.com/talent-management-software-buyers-are-choosing-cost-over-experience/ LinkedIn Targets SMBs With ‘Help Wanted’ Sign Download Option As first reported on ERE, In a move to engage small businesses, LinkedIn announced the ability for brick-and-mortar businesses to print out a Help Wanted sign to place in a storefront window or put on a tabletop promotion. Think of it as a traditional Help Wanted sign with more engagement and a bridge to the digital world. For brick-and-mortar business owners, the signage allows candidates passing by to apply for a job by scanning a QR code or going to the short link on the sign. LinkedIn says this solves the age-old challenge of managing two streams of applicants — those walking directly into the store and those applying online. Learn more about your ad choices. The Hiretual Intelligent Talent Pipeline creates an intelligent, closed loop system that continuously learns and gets better, constantly rediscovers, and actively integrates with all other enterprise functions within HR,” said Steven Jiang, CEO and co-founder of Hiretual. “The launch of Intelligent Talent Pipeline delivers the ‘Holy Grail’ in recruiting technology for HR teams, transforming talent acquisition from data-driven to intelligence-driven.” How Intelligent Talent Pipeline works Company X posts a job they want to fill on their career site via their ATS (i.e. Taleo, Jobvite, ADP, Workday, etc.), which posts the job to places like LinkedIn, Indeed and Monster. Company X is then awash in applications – even more so if they are a well-known brand. Many of these applicants are high quality, but unfortunately not currently qualified for the position. Hiretual’s AI-matching engine automatically screens the incoming stream of applicants in real-time, and delivers the best fitting applicants for the role to Company X’s ATS (Applicant Tracking System) – while automatically screening out and delivering applicants who are not qualified for the current role to a passive talent pool. This automation saves significant time and increases the quality of the applicant pipeline in Company X’s ATS by ten-fold. AUSTIN, Texas—Indeed, the world’s #1 job site, announced today that job seekers can now proactively take skills-based assessments and add the results directly to their Indeed Resume. This new feature helps job seekers stand out by highlighting their qualifications to employers, allowing hiring managers to more easily identify candidates who have the right skills for their open roles. “Assessments allow job seekers to show employers they have the skills a job requires in a way that their work history or educational background may not,” said Raj Mukherjee, SVP of Product at Indeed. “We believe this is an important step to providing a more holistic view of a job seeker’s capabilities and to help to reduce bias in hiring and to focus on what matters most – skills.” Resumes alone do not offer the full breadth of a candidate’s capabilities. Assessments help employers find and evaluate candidates based on their skills and abilities while also giving job seekers a way to demonstrate their qualifications when applying for jobs. https://recruitingheadlines.com/indeed-adds-assessment-results-to-online-resumes/ HiringSolved will be launching and showcasing the public beta release of the highly anticipated PROPHET II sourcing tool to sourcers and recruiters at SourceCon in Seattle.
