CBP Stories - Brewing Hope with Christopher Glenn (Bottleshare)
CBP Stories showcase individual members who have an inspiring story to tell.
Christopher Glenn, Founder & Executive Director of Bottleshare, was struck by a drunk driver back in 2018 while on his way home after closing up the Tasting Room at Dry County Brewing Company. Among a plethora of injuries, the accident also caused permanent neurological damage. Through his recovery, which continues to this day, the Craft Community rallied behind him through support and fundraising efforts. Through the love and support of those around him, Christopher was inspired to return what he received in his time of need; thus Bottleshare was born.
Bottleshare is a fund raising & fund distribution 501c3 nonprofit organization for the Craft Beverage Industry. They raise funds to distribute emergency financial assistance to businesses and workers who experience extreme hardships due to injury, illness, or disaster. In 2020 they had a goal of granting out $20,000. "Where the h*ll am I going to get $20k?" was the question Christopher asked himself at the beginning of the year.
By December 2020 Bottleshare beat their goal by 600%, granting over $124,000 to workers, businesses & families in need within the Craft Beverage Industry. "The only reason we were able to achieve what we did is because of this incredible community to which we all belong. We owe it all to them." Bottleshare has grown exponentially over the past year, becoming a national charity organization, and they seem to just be getting started. "We Brew Hope'' is their slogan, and they do just that.

Raising a Family, Growing a Brand: A Conversation with Mariah and Sam Calagione (Dogfish Head Craft Brewery)
Founded by Sam and Mariah Calagione back in 1995, Dogfish continues to be an independent, family-controlled company moving in a slightly off-centered direction.
When they opened in downtown Rehoboth as the smallest commercial brewery, they began with a straight forward, but unorthodox mission: off-centered ales for off-centered people. Flash forward to today. They are a bigger - but still small - brewery, with the same mission.
Thanks to a lot of awesome fans who believe in what they are doing as a company they have a lot of passionate, talented and team-oriented co-workers who have come together to grow this company into a very special community.
In the conversation, we will dive into the dynamics of a husband/wife team, work life balance, and the strategies Marian and Sam have used to successfully grow a brand/community.

Transforming Beverage Culture from Within (CBP Fall Virtual Conference 2021)
Join us for a conversation with the Safe Bars P.A.C.T. Initiative partners. The Safe Bars P.A.C.T. Initiative is a collaborative response to create safe and respectful workspaces with proactive measures to end gender-based harassment and other violence in the beverage industry.
The beverage industry has and continues to perpetuate harm for those it seeks to marginalize and keep vulnerable. We have an opportunity to change the current culture for womxn, transgender, and non-binary individuals to be able to work in the beverage industry with confidence, safety, and respect.
Has your brewery signed the P.A.C.T.?
Adopting the P.A.C.T. and enrolling your organization in Safe Bars Certification Training shows an ethical and fiscal commitment that benefits your team, your customers and your business.

How's Your Taproom Community? (CBP Fall Virtual Conference 2021)
All across the U.S., taprooms come in many shapes and sizes. The interior and exterior are each as unique as the individuals that produce and serve the beer within the taprooms. Even more unique are the varied locations in which we have chosen to open our taprooms.
As we have chosen an industry that continuously highlights its community, we often forget certain aspects of our community that are right in front of us.
What happens when we choose not only to focus on the value we gain from our craft beer community, but also the value we bring to the community directly surrounding our taprooms?

Jamaar Valentine (NoDa Brewing Company)
