77. Advent: Joy to the World - Global Hospitality

Welcome to the All of Life podcast from Redemption Church Tempe where we have conversations on faith, culture, theology, and beyond to help us live all of life all for Jesus. Advent means “arrival.” It’s a season where we anticipate the arrival of Jesus, the Savior of the world, at Christmas. This Advent, we’re focusing on becoming a people of prayer and action, in response to the God who hears our prayers and takes action. The Advent season at Redemption Tempe has historically been one where we’ve pressed into the practice of generosity.  You can join this year in a couple of ways. We are collecting kitchen supplies for resettled refugee families in our city!   Place unwrapped kitchen supplies underneath the Christmas tree in the lobby. We will collect items until December 18th. Our Advent Offering this year will go towards our Foster, Care, Adoption, and Kinship ministry as well as helping to provide mental health services to people who are in need of them.  Give to the Advent Offering HERE In this episode, Jim Mullins, Carrie Vaughn, and Michel Duarte talk about global hospitality as a theme of Advent. They share personal experiences as missionaries living abroad and things they have learned from the global church as well as ways to get involved locally in both receiving and extending hospitality.
