Episode 211: Derek Hansen - The life of a high performance sport consultant

This episodes guest is Derek Hansen from sprintcoach.com and strengthpowerspeed.com Derek is an International Sport Performance Consultant that has been working with athletes of all ages and abilities in speed, strength and power sports since 1988. His coaching career started in Track and Field, providing instruction to sprinters of all ages eventually working with collegiate sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers. His career evolved rapidly working closely with some of the top performers in the world as a coach and a consultant – including Olympic medalists, world record holders, Canadian National team athletes, and professional athletes from numerous sports. He worked as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Simon Fraser University for 14 years, the first non-US member of the NCAA. He also serves as a performance consultant to numerous professional teams in the NFL, NBA, MLS and NHL, as well as major NCAA Division 1 programs throughout North America, specializing in speed development, strategic performance planning, return-to-competition protocols and neuromuscular electrical stimulation programming. Derek is asked to speak on speed development and high performance training on a regular basis for major events around the world and has also authored a number of books, chapters and journal articles on these subjects. Episode 206: Nicole Rodriguez - Long Term Athletic Development and getting out of your comfort zone

This episodes guest see's the return of Nicole Rodriguez, who was previously on episode 28. Nicole is someone who has had a massive impact in my life and coaching career. She was my head coach when I intern at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning back in 2009 and someone who I have always considered as a mentor and close friend. To me, Nicole is one of the finest coaches I have ever worked with within physical preparation profession.  Nicole is a Human Performance Coach who serves American and International teams/organizations. She is currently living and consulting in Central Europe, building developmental programs and infrastructure for professional football (soccer) clubs and community-based football clubs. In 2018, she consulted for the Dutch National Volleyball Team in preparation for the 2018 World Championships. From 2012-2017, Nicole joined EXOS, formerly Athletes’ Performance, as a Human Performance Coach and education specialist. She served as the Education Department Head for Team EXOS, a Human Performance Company in Phoenix, AZ who serves the world’s elite athletic populations. Starting in 2012, she supported International Football organizations, Rugby organizations, International Cycling and various American sports. Prior to EXOS, she worked alongside Michael Boyle in 2006-2012. There, Coach Nicole Rodriguez trained a full spectrum of clients and athletes including, NHL, MLB, NFL, Olympic Ice Hockey, amateur athletes and general populations. Episode 205: Shawn Myszka (aka - The Movement Miyagi) - All things skill acquisition and movement mastery

This episodes guest is with another brother from another mother of mine - Shawn Myszka - aka. The Movement Miygai!! Shawn Myszka is the Pro Performance Director of Explosive Edge Athletics in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he is entrusted with the personal consulting of countless NFL players who seek him out to take their performance to the limits of their potential. Shawn is a former National-level competitive bodybuilder who has become a sought-after clinician and leader in the field of sport-specific power development, the transfer of training to sport performance, and developing mastery in the movement of athletes at all levels of qualification.
