The Value of Incorporating Our Kids Into Our Entrepreneurship w/Avi Arya

It is common to think that starting your own business will take time away from your children, but many of the most accomplished entrepreneurs will tell you that nothing is more fulfilling than taking the entrepreneurial journey with their children. The Impact of Clutter on Our Mindsets and Emotional States

When we're surrounded by cluttered countertops and messy living spaces, it can take a toll on our emotions and our minds. Often, we end up feeling overwhelmed by the mammoth task of clearing it all, unsure of where to even begin. That being said, the process of decluttering a home is about more than a cleaner house. When we don't have the option of hiding behind hours of tidying, we're forced to deal with what's really going on in our lives. Cleaning the house and organizing gives us an opportunity to decide what truly makes us happy. Why hold onto things that make us feel anything less than amazing? What does clutter tell us about how we feel? How do we decide what to keep and what needs to go? In this episode, Founder of Motherhood Simplified, Krista Lockwood shares how to declutter our homes and our lives. Strip away the unnecessary objects you're holding onto, so you can spend more time with the things you love. -Dana Malstaff 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode Why tidying is about clearing both internal and external baggageWhat's going on around us physically is almost always a reflection of what we're dealing with internally. Be mindful that decluttering is an emotional experience, and when we free up space in our homes, we also free up space in our minds. How fear of lack holds us back from a decluttered spaceWhen we hold onto items due to fear of not being able to afford them in future, we're tapping into a scarcity mindset. Change the narrative by asking "what is this taking from me?" rather than "what if I can't get this later on?" If we're sacrificing joy by keeping something, it's simply not worth it. What we should be removing from our space todayWhen we start our mornings feeling like nothing in our closets fits us or makes us feel good about ourselves, that sets a negative tone for the rest of the day. We have to stop holding onto things that don't make us feel our best. Guest Bio- Krista Lockwood is the Founder of Motherhood Simplified, where she teaches decluttering for moms who don't want to be full blown minimalists. In 2013, she and her husband moved from Alaska to Florida with only one suitcase each. While she doesn't believe you need to go that extreme, she has been able to master the balance of having enough, but not too much. Krista strongly believes we all have what it takes to create the lives and homes we want, no matter what that looks like. On top of her courses offered on decluttering, Krista is the host of the Motherhood Simplified Podcast. Breaking Limiting Beliefs in Your Finances w/Sherri Somers

Far too often, we're held back from pursuing great opportunities because we're focused on what's in our bank accounts, and not what's in our hearts. If we see opportunity only through the lens of financial scarcity, and not faith, we'll always feel like there isn't enough money. Our mindset around money has to shift from one of fear and lack, to a mindset of openness and positivity. Easier said than done, but it is possible! It starts with training ourselves to believe there is abundance all around us. How can we stop letting the numbers in our bank accounts dictate our business moves? What is the spirit of awareness and how will it boost our businesses? In this episode, Revenue Master Coach, Sherri Somers shares how to overcome a mindset of financial lack, so that we let faith guide our dreams instead. Success is all about the right mindset. If you condition your mind, the practical stuff comes naturally. -Sherri Somers 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode How to make moves based on mindset, not money The second we make moves based on the number in our bank accounts, we become inconsistent and less effective. It's better to lead with mindset, so we're not focused on what's lacking. How to identify opportunities for connecting to human capital There is always someone in our audience who knows how to help us get to the next level. We should never take it personally or interpret it as a sign not to go after our dreams. Their reservations are based on their fears, not our abilities. How to Reignite Your Creative Passion with a Niche Side Hustle w/Stacey Ogden

One of the ways we create a more fulfilling and joyful life is through a career that we're passionate about. That said, it can be difficult to get excited about the work we do when it feels like an obligation or a chore. When we actively choose to do something, we will feel fired up for it more consistently. Having a side hustle is a great way to refresh our love for what we do in a meaningful way. To make it even better, we need it to be specialized or niched down. How do we go beyond something general, to a side hustle in a great niche? Why does this help us feel more fulfilled at work? In this episode, CEO of Side Hustle Teachers and Founder of the Edupreneur Academy, Stacey Ogden shares how to start a niched-down side hustle that reignites our passion for work. Don't make the mistake of trying to talk to everybody. Your business should be what you want it to be, not just what it can be. -Stacey Ogden 3 Things We Learned From This Episode How to narrow our focus to only the people we're excited to serveMany people struggle with wanting to help everyone. But if we want to create successful businesses, we have to narrow down our focus because it helps us connect with people who really love what we do. How to stop apologizing for not helping everyoneTo create a niche, we have to narrow down the group of people we want to serve until we have a clear picture of our ideal client. Once we've done that, we have to be unapologetic about what we offer and what we don't. How to build a referral network to help the people who aren't in our nicheIt can be difficult to say no when someone outside our niche asks for our assistance, but we can still help the client without broadening our scope. Building a referral network allows us to say "Yes" by introducing other products and services, without getting off track in our side hustle. Guest Bio- Stacey Ogden is the CEO of Side Hustle Teachers and founder of the Edupreneur Academy. She has built a community of more than 4,000 educators supporting each other on their entrepreneurial journeys and helped dozens of teachers start and grow profitable side hustles, all while maintaining her full-time teaching job. The Best Ideas Come From Boredom w/Daniel Harmon

How can we create great content that not only sells a product, but makes a massive impact on our audiences? When we think of memorable marketing, most of us are likely to feel overwhelmed. How do we even begin to craft something that people resonate with, for years to come? Most of the time, the best ideas come from the moments we separate ourselves from daily tasks and allow our minds to wander. In this episode, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Harmon Brothers, Daniel Harmon joins me to discuss how memorable marketing campaigns come to life. There is so much value in boredom. Some of the best ideas come from white space. -Daniel Harmon 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode Become the customer To market a product the right way, we need to use it ourselves to see what sets it apart. We have to become genuinely passionate about it. Remember, nothing sells better than the truth. Relax The best ideas tend to come to us when we're relaxed. Do enough work beforehand so that when we're in a state of relaxation, our brains can fill in the blanks. Go out and experience culture When we're passionate about what we do, it's easy to slip into a cycle of only consuming information related to our businesses. Go out and see what the audience is doing; otherwise, we risk repeating what everyone in our space is already doing. Guest Bio- Daniel Harmon is the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Harmon Brothers, the advertising agency behind the most viral ads in internet history. Unlocking The Power of Music w/Vered Benhorin

There is so much fear and uncertainty in our current reality that it's easy to be caught up in a panic, but we should be using this time to take stock of our lives and our businesses as they are, and how we want them to be. Is it possible to make the most of this period? While it's normal to feel worried about the future, it's also important for us to live in the moment and think about how we want to look back on this time. How can we build memories for our children so they can remember this period? By choosing to slow down, assess our goals and embrace the changes we're going through, we can make quarantine something to remember for the right reasons. On this episode, music therapist and Founder of veredmusic.com, Vered Benhorin shares how to make the most of life in quarantine. Do your best to create memories of this time with your children- and not just through photos and videos. Take a few moments to improvise vocally and create songs for your children. -Vered Benhorin 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode Take a moment to assessWith the world on pause, we finally have a moment to think deeply about who we are. Take advantage of the lull we're going through to assess where we are, and where we want to be. Bond through musicMusic is a great way to form bonds with the people closest to us, so take a moment each day to improvise vocally. Sing a little song about our current reality; our kids will remember this for years and may even pass it on to their own children. Embrace the changeWhile the changes we're seeing in the world are unnerving, it's times like these that force us to take our businesses to the next level. Instead of trying to get back to the way things were, use this time to adapt to our new reality and keep moving forward.

The Roadmap to Releasing Stable Misery w/Dr. Lynyetta Willis

When sadness becomes a daily, persistent experience that isn't dramatically terrible, it can turn into stable misery. We can get so used to being unhappy, it becomes a bearable normal, even though it's not healthy or fulfilling. The good news is, we do have the power to move ourselves out of this place, and we can make our lives more fulfilling and joyful. But until we recognize and honor the things that need to be healed, they will keep showing up in our lives and impact how we show up in all our relationships. In order to get out of stable misery, we need to be willing to dive into the things that trigger us, and work on moving towards joy step-by-step. How can we identify stable misery in ourselves? Why should we explore the things that trigger us? In this episode, psychologist and family empowerment coach Dr. Lynyetta G. Willis, joins us to discuss the tools we can use to overcome triggers and unhealthy patterns. Anything that you're avoiding in your own personal journey is going to inevitably in some way, shape or form, be passed on to your kids. -Lynyetta Willis 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode The 4 Horsemen of Parenting Pain, blame, shame and avoidance are some of the negative experiences we might have faced in childhood. These things can make us feel unworthy, not good enough, and thinking that our voices aren't important enough. These horsemen will gallop with us into adulthood and even into parenthood and need to be addressed. Going from sadness to joy is a process, not a sudden change Getting out of stable misery is not like a light switch, it's more of a dimmer switch. We're not going to go from stable misery to complete happiness in one go. Instead of thinking about completely getting out of misery, it's about taking one step each day to bring us closer to joy. Deal with the trigger internally, not externally Unless we deal with the thing that's bothering us, it will weigh us down like a rock and just get heavier the more we avoid it. Dealing with triggers doesn't mean addressing them externally, it's more about dealing with them internally. It's more about not ignoring why it's coming up and why it's triggering us.

Pitching Yourself is an Act of Giving, Not Selfishness w/Amelia Roberts

Many women are hesitant to pitch themselves to be on podcasts because they fear they may not be welcomed, or that they don't have the right stories to share, and this is especially true for women of color. Let's face it, it's difficult to compliment ourselves, so how can we overcome that? And for those of us who do have a platform, how can we encourage more women to feel more comfortable with pitching us? On this episode, Visibility Strategist and Relationship Facilitator, Amelia Roberts shares why it's so important for everyone to share the information within themselves, and how to pitch our stories. 3 Things You'll Learn in This Episode Do the mindset work So often, we hold back from sharing our ideas because we aren't sure they're enough. A great way to combat this is by hiring a coach, someone who can help us sort through good ideas and those that need tweaking, and who can hold us accountable to taking action. Do the research To be featured on a podcast, do some research on the audience. Understand what they're struggling with, and pitch with that in mind. If we know we have a solution to a common problem, we're the perfect candidate to share our stories. Create an inclusive environment For those of us who do have a platform to share stories, it's important to create a culture where everyone feels comfortable pitching to us. Do some research to find out how to serve those who aren't pitching to us. Guest Bio Amelia Roberts is a Visibility Strategist and Relationship Facilitator, and Founder of Solutions by Amelia. How to Create Sellable Products When You Have Kids Running Around

With everything that's happened in the world in the wake of COVID-19, a lot of us have gotten stuck in a rut and having our kids home all the time has taken a toll on our creative processes. However, to create sellable products, we have to find ways to jolt ourselves out of that foggy state of mind. How can we kickstart our creativity during this period? Is it even possible to run a business smoothly in-between home-schooling our children and keeping them entertained? While we have to give ourselves grace in this time, at the end of the day, we have businesses to run and things to do. On this episode, we discuss how to create sellable products while we're trapped in survival mode. Having our kids around all the time can be very distracting. Try the 10-minute method: brainstorm for just 10 minutes at a time and see what sparks of creativity you get. -Dana Malstaff 3 Things You'll Learn in this Episode Stay creative by breaking brainstorming sessions up into 10-minute periods.
