The Accidental Rapper from Cork - making music that makes a difference
Brian, also known as the accidental rapper is first and foremost an activist who accidentally, no pun intended, fell into the creative arts in recent years. We talk about how and why he first put pen to paper and how that led to him playing festivals and gigs around Ireland in a very short space of time. We also chat about dealing with imposter syndrome, how he confronts societal injustices and a lot more. On April 22nd, he’ll be playing his first headline gig in Crowbar Terrace in The Button Factory in Dublin and the release of his first single on Spotify will be available on April 21st. I’ll include links to his socials and upcoming gigs in the description of this episode. As always, and most importantly, thanks so much all of you for listening.instagram.com/theaccidentalrapper/Upcoming Gig (April 22nd 2023)www.eventbrite.ie/e/the-accidental-rapper-single-launch-gig-tickets-606714077137 Hosted on Acast. Paula from Spain - How I fell in love with Dublin
An open and completely honest conversation is sometimes hard to come by. One of the reasons I love this podcast is I get to sit down with people and just talk, no distractions. Paula, who moved to Dublin around a year and a half ago, brings an authenticity and honesty to this conversation which is really admirable. We go deep into topics of mental health, how she dealt with depression, peculiar differences between Ireland and Spain and much more. In the description of this podcast I’ll include some links to affordable or free mental health services which you can avail of here in Dublin if you wish. Fouad and Samar from Lebanon - What it means to be Lebanese
Sometimes when we think of a place we can have preconceived notions of what that place may or may not be like. Whether it’s pictures of sunny beaches, war, famine, economic prosperity or horrific poverty, our perspective of a place is usually tainted by the images and narratives that are fed to us in the media. Perhaps Lebanon is victim to this phenomenon and so when I met Fouad and Samar I jumped at the chance to chat to them so that I could learn more about their background and what it means to be Lebanese. Of course, we talk about how they have ended up here in Dublin as well but selfishly I pressed to know and learn more about Lebanese culture and life. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I enjoyed having it. Thanks to all of you for listening. Your support for this project and the community we are building in Dublin is really heartwarming and I hope we can continue to develop this as much as possible. If you like, and only if you like, you can also help support us by donating the price of a pint on our patreon page patreon.com/alifeindublin.And now here’s my conversation with Fouad and Samar Hosted on Acast. Harry Hudson Taylor is a musician from Dublin, currently based in Berlin, who along with his brother Alfie, took their music all around the world and lived a life that one might typically think of when dreaming of the rock and roll lifestyle. Mark and Eoin - What's the story with Irish tea?
Hello and welcome to A Life in Dublin. I’m your host Mark and with your permission we’d love this podcast to be your digital companion for the next little bit at least…If there was an ever episode to sit back and chill out with a lovely warm cup of tea, then this is the one. Myself and Eoin have a chat about the infamous beverage and all of the cultural peculiarities that exist around the drink in Ireland. Thanks so much for tuning into the podcast. We’ve grown a lot of new listeners in the last few weeks so I’d really like to welcome you all here and to remind you that we don’t take your time or attention for granted. Every week, I’m trying to make this podcast a little bit better so that we can be absolutely deserving of the time you give us.
