Mark and Eoin - What's the story with Irish pubs abroad?

Mark and Eoin have a chat about whether or not Irish pubs abroad are any good or not? We also come up with an idea that would see us travelling around the world sampling pints in Irish pubs! A big thank you to you all for listening and a huge welcome to all our new listeners as we seem to have gained quite a lot of listeners in the last month or so. Really cool that around 50% of our listeners are actually based outside of Ireland. A big hello to all of you wherever you are or wherever you’re from and thanks a million for your time. Remember, sharing this podcast with a friend, leaving a rating or a review can be so incredibly helpful to us, so we’d appreciate that support if you’re willing. Our Instagram Pageinstagram.com/a_life_in_dublin/ Hosted on Acast. Diarmuid from Ireland - Discovering wildness in Ireland and in yourself

Many of you who are Irish and enjoy sport will know of my next guest from his hurling days in county Wexford. For those listening from outside of Ireland or for those who aren’t so familiar with hurling, it’s one of Ireland’s national sport’s. A sport, which I think most of us will agree, involves a ridiculous amount of skill and courage. I recommend checking it out on YouTube if you haven’t seen it before.Diarmuid’s time as a hurler has been very well-covered in a number of other interviews so I decided to use my time with him to find out more about his work with Wild Irish Retreats. We talk about ancient Irish lost traditions, modern life as a man, being the author of your own story and a lot more. Thanks a mill for giving us a bit of your time to listen to us today. We get there’s a thousand million other things you could be listening to, so very much appreciate your attention. Remember, sharing this podcast with a friend, leaving a rating or a review can be so incredibly helpful to us, so we’d appreciate that support if you’re willing. Our Instagram Pageinstagram.com/a_life_in_dublin/Diarmuid’s Instagraminstagram.com/diarmuidlyng/Wild Irish Retreat’swww.wildirishretreat.ie/John Moriarty and Tommy Tiernanhttps://youtu.be/m6kfo4FahM0Hurling in Irelandhttps://youtu.be/GFR6IcbEoyM Hosted on Acast. Itzi arrived in Dublin from Mexico 5 years ago not really knowing what to expect from Ireland. Like so many, she hadn’t really heard much about Ireland before and had actually considered Australia as a more viable option for her adventure abroad. Flash forward five years and Itzi’s life has changed quite a lot. No longer working as an industrial engineer, she’s created a career for herself as a digital creator, providing her community with information about Ireland and how to move here. In our discussion we talk about how her life has developed in Dublin and how she has established herself as a full-time YouTuber. Thanks a mill to you for tuning in to listen. Sharing this podcast with a friend, leaving a rating or a review can be so incredibly helpful to us, so we’d appreciate that support if you’re willing. Our Instagram Pageinstagram.com/a_life_in_dublin/Itzi’s Instagraminstagram.com/itzi_en_dublin/Itzi’s YouTube Channelyoutube.com/@ItzienDublinCritical Skills Occupations Listhttps://enterprise.gov.ie/en/what-we-do/workplace-and-skills/employment-permits/employment-permit-eligibility/highly-skilled-eligible-occupations-list/ Hosted on Acast. Pablo & The Foreigners from Spain, Ireland, Argentina and Italy - Follow your passion and find your community

In this episode we are joined by the incredible Pablo and The Foreigners. Angelica, Javier, Juan and Pablo (aka Paul) were brought together in the city of Dublin by their shared passion for music. Despite all coming from very different backgrounds, Argentina, Spain, Italy and Ireland, they formed their community and without doubt have made the most out of their time here. I take inspiration from their story as they are an amazing example of people who put faith in their passion and allowed it to blossom into wonderful friendships and without doubt some amazing memories that they will have for the rest of their lives. If it’s true that at the end of it all, the only thing we are left with is the memories we have created, then I choose to look up to these guys as my example. At the end of the episode you will hear five songs from these very talented musicians. We definitely count ourselves as extremely lucky as we had our own little private concert! Their music has put smiles on so many faces so I hope that you can enjoy it in this episode as well.Thank you so much as always to you, yes you, for listening, Your support and encouragement is what keeps us pumping out as many episodes as we can. Also, a very big thank you to people who have commented on our episodes or sent us messages. For some reason Spotify doesn’t allow me to reply to the comments underneath the episodes but do know that I read all of the comments and feedback and I’m truly grateful to you for taking the time to get in touch.Just a quick note before we begin on the sound quality in this episode. It’s the first time we’ve had 6 people in the studio, well actually we couldn’t fit in the studio so it was recorded in a different room, so the quality of the sound isn’t quite what you deserve. I’m working as hard as I can behind the scenes to try and get a sponsor for the podcast so we can upgrade our equipment a bit because that stuff is not cheap! If anyone knows someone who might be interested in sponsoring us… please do let us know!!Pablo & The Foreigner's New EP:https://open.spotify.com/album/5tG6VPYdhitknixaQbod06?si=Zo0xmneuTLS17h5m_vXkYQOur Instagram Pageinstagram.com/a_life_in_dublin/Pablo & The Foreigner's Instagram Pageinstagram.com/pabloandtheforeigners/ Hosted on Acast. Colm from Dublin - How Ireland shaped me as a musician

Can you think back to a time when you were younger or perhaps in more recent times when you had to stand up in front of a group of people and perform something? Whether it be a poem, a song, a presentation or whatever it is, holding your composure doesn’t come easy to us all. In fact, Im sure we can all admit that we’ve suffered from nerves at some point in our lives. This is what fascinates me about talking to people like Colm. A professional musician who’s toured all over the world, and yet he to admits to experiencing the odd bout of performance anxiety. What was really refreshing about my chat with Colm was that he doesn’t put overcoming this anxiety down to increased self-esteem or we’ll say, mental tricks, he puts it all down to hard work and discipline. Practice until it’s more difficult to make a mistake than it is to perform perfectly. I really admire this about Colm and other performing artists. It’s so easy to forget the countless hours that goes into what can seem like an effortless performance. Colm tells me more about where this discipline comes from and he’s fostered it. We also chat about Dublin and Ireland and how these places have shaped him as a musician and many other topics. Thanks to all of you for listening. Your support for this project and the community we are building in Dublin is really heartwarming and I hope we can continue to develop this as much as possible. If you like, and only if you like, you can also help support us by leaving a review on Apple Podcasts or a rating on Spotify or donating the price of a pint on our patreon page patreon.com/alifeindublin.Our Instagram Pageinstagram.com/a_life_in_dublin/Colm Gavin Instagram: https://instagram.com/colmgavin?utm_medium=copy_linkFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/colmgavinofficial/YouTube https://youtu.be/cwSKkyc_h3ASpotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6b5v1OQRagY6RNOHyZ2j6MRecord Label/Management : http://beorecords.ie/colm-gavin/Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/HcbASSoeKQqSZxbk7 Hosted on Acast.
