Episode 722 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com 1. If I still sin, am I truly repentant? 2. What was the purpose of God's threat to Moses's life in Exodus 24? 3. How do we know that all of the New Testament epistles are God's inspired word? 4. I was told by a 'reformed' theonomist that the fact that I am a Mexican man and am married to a white woman-with whom I have a son, makes for a big problem. It seems like he was advocating for racial purity. He called his beliefs biblical and historical. What do the scriptures say about interracial marriage between two believers? 5. Do our souls also die when we die, or do they go on to be with the Lord between our death and the resurrection? Which Doctrines Are Essential and Which Are Not?
Episode 721 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com I called in a few days ago to ask you about if Christians should give money to homeless people. I wanted to let you know that I took your advice and I bought multiple gift cards to hand out to different people who are homeless. I really appreciate your work and ministry—thank you! On a previous program you said that when believers die, they are immediately in the presence of God. So why does the Roman Catholic church teach that there is such a thing as purgatory? How did Jesus take our punishment on to himself if our punishment is eternal separation from God? Also, how could Jesus be eternally separated from God when he in fact is God or the second person of God's triune nature? God could have made the entire world good instead of having evil in it. In your thoughts, why do you think that is? How does one differentiate between essential doctrines, doctrines of lesser importance, and traditions, which can be very helpful but lack biblical authority? What does it mean that Jesus came to "divide" and "not bring peace"? 5. I have a question from Revelation 6:2 about the man that comes on a white horse wearing a crown and carrying a bow. With so many megachurches spending money on their facilities, is it wrong to skip tithing and donate to missional ministries instead? When we die, do we go immediately to heaven or do we wait in some kind of soul sleep until Jesus returns? 3. Does 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 teach that we can lose our salvation? I have done many things that I regret and this passage troubles me. 4. Where exactly does the Bible state that women should not hold the office of pastor? 5. 1 Corinthians 15:29 says, "Otherwise, what do people mean by being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized on their behalf?" Is Paul saying we should get baptized for the dead, what does this mean? 6. If what we deserve is eternity in hell, how does Jesus's payment on the cross cover our debt to God since he did not spend eternity in hell? 2. How do you go about counseling people in your church? 4. Before someone has faith in Jesus, do they first need to acknowledge that they are a sinner and have broken God's law? Or can someone just hear about Jesus, have faith in him, and figure out the part where they're sinners later? 5. Can you explain what Acts 2:38 means? Does it mean that we cannot be saved unless we have been baptized? Is Jesus still living among us today? 3. Recently my wife and I were talking about Christ on the cross and how he said to the thief that, "today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23). But then in John 20 Jesus says to Mary, "don't touch me yet because I have not ascended to the Father." How do these work together with the apparent conflict? 4. I used to be very charismatic but am not anymore. With that, how do I understand the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12? 5. The nearest school within 30 miles of where I live has "Demons" as their school mascot. I have kept my kids out of school because of this; yet I feel guilty because they are not getting the socialization they need. I've been praying about this and I'm not sure what God wants me to do. So I would like to speak to another fellow in Christ who can give me some guidance.
