What Does It Mean for the Meek to Inherit the Earth?
Episode 782 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Questions in this Episode 1. I have been baptized, but my church still says I have not received the Holy Spirit because I have not spoken in tongues. I am confused about if I need two baptisms or if I don't need the Holy Spirit to get into heaven? 2. Should we pray to Jesus or should we pray to God the Father, as we are taught to in the Lord's Prayer? 3. In Psalm 37:11, it says the meek will inherit the earth. Can you help me understand what this means? Is it talking about when Jesus comes back? And does meek mean "submissive"? 4. I don't believe that Revelation should be in the biblical canon. It seems as though John of Patmos is like Joseph Smith, where he went away by himself and had wild visions that Jesus doesn't mention in the Gospels. What do you think? 5. My husband prays the rosary but I don't see this practice in the Bible. Is it biblical? Do I Have to Go to Church to Connect with God?
Episode 781 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Questions in this Episode 1. Ephesians 2 says that the prophets and apostles were the foundation of the church. If these offices are just for the foundation of the church how does prophecy operate today? 2. I am wondering if we connect with God through the church or within yourself. Do you have to go to church to get that or does it only depend on your personal relationship with God? 3. Since the Bible tells us to submit to our governing authorities, and they're telling us to get the vaccine, if we don't get the vaccine are we sinning against God? 4. My daughter has a hard time worshipping on Sunday instead of Saturday since the law of God tells us to keep the sabbath on the 7th day of the week. How should we think about this? 5. Between now and the resurrection, what happens to our bodies when we die? 6. Why does the bible use symbolic numbers in scripture? In Mark 5, Jesus heals a woman who had been sick for 12 years. Then he goes on to raise a 12 year old girl from the dead. These constant numbers used in Scripture make doubts creep into my head about the authenticity of the story. 7. Some pastors call cremation "sub-Christian," what do you think? Can Christians Kill in Self-Defense?
Episode 780 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Questions in this Episode 1. When we stand before the Lord at the judgment, will all of our iniquities and sin be broadcast for all to see? 2. We hear that currently in Afghanistan, Christians could possibly be killed. My question is: In such a situation, what is the Biblical view of attempting to defend oneself? Is it a sin to kill people who are trying to kill you? 3. People seem to be afraid about being in "the last days." Are there any passages you recommend us looking at? 4. There are a lot of different religions in the world. From Judaism, Hinduism, Jehovah's Witness, etc. Because these religions do not recognize Jesus as the Son of God, does that mean their adherents will not be in heaven? 5. In Romans 6, it says that Christians are supposed to be "dead to sin." But I still struggle with habitual sins that I have not been able to completely leave behind. This makes me doubt the assurance of my salvation and wonder if I really am saved. Can Divine Inspiration Be Found in Other Religions?
Episode 778 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Questions in this Episode 1. Psalms 118:8 says it is better to put confidence in the Lord rather than man. I was wondering how you can square this in regards to the Covid vaccine? 2. What is the prayer of faith in the book of James? 3. I was wondering if Buddhist's theories could still be divinely inspired. I practiced Buddhism for a long time and it seems like he said a lot of things Jesus said and I'm not sure if he got it from the Bible. That seems doubtful. Do you think some of his writings might be divinely inspired, and if not are they satanically inspired? 4. What does Paul mean in Ephesians 5:3 when he says, "But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints"? 5. How do we disciple someone with a mental handicap? 6. Why did God free the children of Israel only to let them wander in the desert for 40 years and then punish them for complaining? Does the Bible Give Preferential Treatment to Men?
Episode 777 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Questions in this Episode 1. I have been reading in Romans 12 about spiritual gifts. Paul seems to say that our spiritual gifts are given in accordance with the amount of faith we have. What does that look like in our lives? 2. Does God favor men over women? Seems to me that God created Eve as an afterthought in the creation process and that he created a woman to give to Adam like she was just some kind of object to help alleviate Adam's boredom. 3. What does it mean to pick up our cross and follow after God? 4. I am wondering what your thoughts are about Christian heavy hardcore and metal music. Psalm 150 says, "everything that has breath, praise the Lord." Some bands call this aggressive-worship, but some people think it's the devil's music because of all the screaming, etc. What do you think? 5. In Mark 4:11-12, Jesus says His speaking in parables is so those "outside" may not understand, otherwise they would turn and be forgiven? Why does He say this? Isn't God's will that none should perish? 6. Did Jesus go to hell after the crucifixion? And were the people in Abraham's bosom, were they people who were getting a second chance at salvation? 7. Was Jesus Michael the archangel and was he made after Satan? I have a friend who is suggesting this but I can't find it anywhere in the Bible. Episode 776 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Questions in this Episode 1. What is the significance of the 42 months mentioned in Revelation 11 and 12? 2. My husband has a rare disease and it has caused to think about the ethics of donating his organs after his death. Do you think that this is an acceptable practice for Christians to do? 3. I am confused about Matthew 5:30 The Bible says that we are saved by grace through faith, not of works, but in this passage it sounds like works because if I don't stop sinning by lusting after a woman, I'm going to hell—so I have to do things to stop myself going to hell? 4. There are some famous pastors who have private jets and mansions. Is there any justification for this, especially with all of the poverty we see in the world and how there are people who have yet hear the gospel? 5. What's the Difference Between Old Testament Holy War and Modern Jihad?
Episode 775 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Questions in this Episode 1. I believe God walked with me in person and taught and trained me how to be an apostle, taught me the protocols of the temple of my soul, how to enter his presence and what not to do in his presence and so much more. Why are there so few churches who teach that there are still apostles today? 2. What does Genesis 1:2 mean? 3. When I hear on the news about war, terror, and devastating things happening in other countries, where people are being slaughtered by terrorists, it sometimes leads me to think about the Old Testament passages where God ordered Israel to take over the land and sometimes kill the people who lived there, both men, women and children. I have a hard time seeing that this killing of, especially children, was something that God was behind. Could you help me understand this more? 4. In the story of Hagar and Sarah, Hagar seems to be the one who is treated poorly, yet in Galatians 4, Paul associates Hagar with the old covenant. What happens to those people at the Final Judgment who have never heard the gospel? 2. I was a vet that served in Afghanistan. It's so heartbreaking and frustrating to see the devastation of what is going on there. And while I wanted to thank you for your prayer on the program that you gave for the people suffering in Afghanistan, is prayer the only bit of hope we can offer these people? We have no idea what it's like to suffer this way, and I just am at a loss for words. It seems that there is no sense of comfort whatsoever. What do you think? 3. Scripture says that we should not "love the world," but Jesus said that he came so that we may have life "more abundantly." Is this a contradiction? Should we hate our life or enjoy it? 4.
