Football finance expert Kieran Maguire special | Premier League suspension, transfers, contracts, Nike kit deal

We speak to football finance expert Kieran Maguire to talk what impact the suspension of the Premier League and football across the world could have on Liverpool and fellow clubs. Kieran attempts to answer those questions and also talks to Matt Addison about Liverpool’s record-breaking kit deal with Nike, who will replace New Balance as the club’s shirt manufacturer in the summer, and why we could be seeing a very different transfer market in the months and maybe years ahead. Blood Red: Agendas everywhere as Liverpool play the waiting game

Football might be suspended, but the Blood Red podcast remains unaffected. Join Joe Rimmer, Paul Gorst, Dan Kay and Matt Addison as they talk through the coming week, with Liverpool set to find out more about their Premier League future in terms of the rest of this season and beyond following the outbreak of coronavirus. UEFA will meet on Tuesday, while the Premier League will reconvene for more talks two days later, but Karren Brady's suggestion of a voiding of the campaign is almost certainly not likely to happen. Away from the news that is dominating the agenda, Liverpool's preferred candidate to replace Dr Andy Massey as head of medical services, Gary O'Driscoll, has chosen to remain at Arsenal rather than make the move to Melwood. Our panel talk that and then look back at some famous nights in Liverpool's history which happened at some point this week. From St Etienne in 1977 to three matches under Jurgen Klopp that all took place on St Patrick's Day, there is plenty to think back to. With no football on our screens, at least for the next few weeks, this is the perfect thing to fill the gap. Enjoy! Analysing Anfield: Adrian errors as Atleti dump Reds out of Europe ahead of the derby

Liverpool's long unbeaten run at Anfield is over, while their Champions League crown will not be retained this season thanks to Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid. But was the Spanish outfit's display a managerial masterclass, or is that suggestion a myth? And who is to blame for the Reds crashing out of the tournament? That game is analysed, as well as the Premier League victory over Bournemouth, which seems an awfully long time ago now. With uncertainty over the extent of the Coronavirus and health measures which might yet be brought in affecting sports events, the Merseyside derby on Monday night seems a fair way off too, though the Reds will already be planning for that match taking place. With that in mind, Josh Williams and David Hughes look ahead to the Goodison derby, and pinpoint exactly where the game will be won and lost. Enjoy.
