Mother Up
Gianna DeMedio Simon and Kacie McDonnell Hosmer
We’re Kacie and Gianna: gal pals, champagne lovers, and two moms who think motherhood is the most rewarding job we’ve ever had. But, man, were we not prepared for some of the fine print in the job description. Specifically, balancing being a mom and being YOU. It seems society only allows women to be sexy OR covered in spit-up. But WE want to be both. We want a connection with our children and partner that doesn’t come at the cost of the relationship with our own selves. We want to feel confident, beautiful, strong, vulnerable, nurturing, and bold.
The connections we’ve made through our careers in media and our propensity to being social butterflies and collecting friends wherever we go means we’ll bring you a wide range of guests that will add value to your physical, mental, and emotional toolbox.
We’re so glad you’re here. Now let’s Mother Up!

Tech Health & Wellness: August Brice on EMF Sensitivity, Tech Toxins, and Mindful Tech Usage
This week we’re joined by Tech Wellness Advocate, August Brice. August began her tech wellness journey over 25 years ago after developing Electromagnetic Sensitivity (otherwise known as ES). ES led her to years of research and discovery, unlocking the key to health and wellness, safety and security. Feeling the negative effects that tech devices such as cell phones had on her and seeing the addiction in others led to her pursuing research on tech addiction and cyber-security issues with technology. The path culminated in a nice balanced ratio and respect for technology which we call the Tech Wellness Ways. As a Tech Wellness Advocate, August makes sure that others have the information they need to thrive in a world brimming with tech and create mindful and balanced relationships with technology.
We discuss:
August’s story and how she came to be a Tech Wellness Advocate
EMF and EMF sensitivity
The four levels of tech toxins
Baby monitors and EMFs
Technology and kids
The importance of having a “social media plan” as a family
Internet addiction and prevention
Incandescent versus LED lights
How our bio-individuality plays into EMF sensitivity
Being mindful when it comes to our digital practices
