Today, I'm excited to share with you a conversation I had with one of my coaching clients who's been struggling with cold DMs, emails, and calls. He was having a tough time getting people to respond, let alone convert into paying customers. But fear not, because in a previous newsletter, I laid out a playbook that shows how to go from a low-paying job to a million-dollar business in just three to five years. One of the key strategies is to develop a high-value skill and find prospects to deliver that value to..and one way to do that is through cold outreach. Now, we all know that cold outreach can work, but it's not easy. Most people underestimate the number of people they need to reach out to before they start seeing results. When I started my window washing business, I had to knock on hundreds of doors to get just two yeses. Today, we're gonna dive into the most powerful and the worst word in the world. And let me tell you, these words can make or break your journey towards greatness. But before we get into all that, we need to understand how our brain learns and encodes information. It's pretty fascinating stuff, actually. We've got billions and trillions of neurons in our brain that light up every time we have a thought or react to stimuli. These little guys create neuronal pathways that help us learn and remember things. And the more we have a particular thought…the more efficient and effective these pathways become. Think about it like this: the first time you meet someone named David, your brain creates a new pathway to remember his name. And the more you meet him or other people with the same name, the easier it becomes to recall that pathway. It's like going to a friend's house in a new neighborhood. The first time it might be a bit tricky…but the more you visit, the more efficient and automatic the route becomes. And that's why repetition is key when it comes to learning new things. The words we use when we speak to ourselves and others matter a lot, and understanding the neurobiology behind it can help us use these words to our advantage.LEAVE A REVIEW if you liked this episode!! In fact, it helped me transform my relationship with money over a decade ago. See, I used to be in a really bad place financially. I was accumulating more and more debt, and I was so anxious about checking my checking account that I just stopped doing it altogether. But then I started using a financial daily planner… and that changed the game for me. Every single day, I do an audit of my finances. It's a really quick process, and it's the first thing I do in the morning. I sit down with my laptop and my journal, and I go through everything. And let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. So if you're struggling with your finances, I encourage you to give it a try. The more you measure your finances, the more in tune you'll be, and the faster you'll turn your finances around. In this episode, I'm going to share with you an important daily reminder that's been on my mind lately. It's something I struggle with every day in my pursuit of doing more and more. It's so easy to fill our to-do list with meaningless tasks that make us feel good when we check them off…but don't really move us towards our goals. But being busy isn't the same as being effective…I learned that I need to pursue less but better, to be intentional about identifying key projects or levers that will pay the biggest dividends. Today, I want you to look at your to-do list and ask yourself…what is the most important thing. Is it getting the time and attention it deserves? I got started in real estate with a low credit score of 600 and an FHA loan. The loan product I got was designed for people like me, with low credit scores, and first-time homebuyers. With an FHA loan, I only had to bring around $7,500 to closing, which is not a big hurdle for most people to hit with a year or two of dedicated effort.
