Only Three Lads: '80s Paisley Underground Legends The Rain Parade Reveal Their Top 5 Debut Singles
Who said you never get a second chance to make a first impression!?!? Well, we covered some of the best debut singles waaaay back in Episode 32...and now, five years later, we're back to revisit that topic. So take that, Head & Shoulders!
Hey, speaking of second times, guess who's back as our Third Lads this week? (No fair, you cheated by looking at the episode title!) Yes, that's right, it's guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Matt Piucci and bassist/vocalist/songwriter Steven Roback from seminal LA "Paisley Underground" band The Rain Parade! The last time Matt & Steven joined us (Episode 259), they subtly hinted that there was something in the works for their underrated second full-length album, 1985's Crashing Dream. We have now been treated to a spectacular double disc deluxe reissue on Label 51 Recordings, that not only gives fans an opportunity to re-appraise this lost gem, but is chock full of demos, alternate versions and live bonus tracks that flesh out the story of this fertile chapter in the Rain Parade legacy.
Prepare thyself for plenty of stories about the past, present, and future of Rain Parade, including recounting memories of their debut single, "What She's Done To Your Mind" from 1982. Hanging out with the guys is always a pleasure, but we digress. A lot.
Special thanks to Josh Mills.

No Filler: Experience the Warmth - Incubus' Make Yourself
We’re diving into Incubus’ 1999 breakout Make Yourself, one of the late 90s’ most thoughtful meditations on self-determination and what it means to be alive. Brandon Boyd’s lyrics grapple with questioning the privileges we take for granted, resisting systems designed to keep us compliant, and staying engaged when everything feels cold and empty. It’s a record that urges us to carve our own path and hold onto our humanity. Join us as we experience the warmth with Incubus.

Love That Album Podcast Episode 191 - Wolfmother
I'm taking a break this month, so my great friend and fellow music
obsessive Dave Blom has come to the rescue. He realised that the LTA
audience needed their monthly dose of music discussion that thousands of other music podcasts couldn't provide....
Welcome to episode 191 of Love That Album.
Dave loves his rawwwwwwwk, so he's decided to record an episode to talk about the debut LP from Sydney band Wolfmother. Coming out in 2005, it tipped its hat at old school hard rock and psychedelia. Dave will
give you his personal history with the album, and a breakdown of each
of its songs.
Thanks immensely for keeping the light on at LTA HQ while I do other stuff, Blommy. Go back into the LTA archives and find previous episodes
where he's saved my hide in a similar fashion (LTA112 “Jet”,
Episode 92 “Blackfeather” and “Avalanche”, Episode 102 - “The
Vines) as well as a few episodes where we went head to head.
If you've listened to an episode this year or sent me a correspondence
or posted in the Facebook group to have music discussions or
recommended LTA or See Hear Podcast to your friends or have been a
guest on the show, I offer my gratitude to you.
If you’ve been enjoying the show, please consider giving us a
favourable review on whatever podcast platform you listen on and let
your friends know that our show exists. If you don't enjoy the show,
tell your adversaries to tune in. We don't care who listens.....

Prisoners of Rock and Roll -- Rockin’ Reinventions: Killer Covers (Vol 1)
In this episode of Prisoners of Rock and Roll, we’re talking about covers – those magical moments where one artist takes another’s song and makes it their own. Sometimes they stay faithful to the original. Sometimes they completely blow it up and rebuild it into something fresh.
We’re going to talk about covers that cross genres like Johnny Cash turning Nine Inch Nails into a heartbreaking confession to Sid Vicious giving us a punk rock version of Frank Sinatra. Covers that became more famous than the originals like Respect by Aretha or Nirvana’s unplugged version of The Man Who Sold the World. We’ve got a killer playlist of iconic reinventions, and a few headscratchers that will make you laugh out loud.

Imbalanced History: Brian Wilson "Live At The Roxy"
Markus and Ray delve into their love of the music, which is the backbone of this album. More than an A vs. B view of the original and this remaster, this episode is about the songs, and the people who made it happen that night with Brian Wilson.
There was magic in the air, with this rare gathering of "longtime associates" making for a one-of-a-kind night of music in a classic setting on Sunset!
It's a Beach Boys lovefest, plus!!!
