Toilet Radio 291 – Y’all Need Slayer
Breno and 365 are doing the thing sans Joe this week, as Thrashnkill deals with the ThrashnChills of the current Texas winter woes. We’re discussing what bands you need to mention by name on social media without doing much of anything else to get numbers. We talk about metalheads their unique proclivity to listen to the same exact shit forever. Of course there’s more Iced Earth news that we have to get into as a couple members of the band finally bow out. Also, does a major metal publication utilize bot farms to spread content? We confirm it as a maybe. Listen to this episode and I promise you’re going to hear it.

Riff-Raff Podcast: A New Flush [Ep. 1 – 2020 Was a Big BM]
A few things happened in 2020—things that may have taken precedence over scouring the innernette for new black metal (and the subsequent obligatory slog through Metal-archives to search for the “dark heathenism” tag). This week, Rolderathis and Hans have the recap on some whipsaqq BM tracks from yesteryear that may not have been covered on this here water closet. We play new (olde??) music from Montuln, Svrm, Katavasia, Porenut, Fortið and Vital Spirit, as well as [being new at podcasting noises], signing Greek BM petitions, ornamental folk metal instruments, Assassin’s Creed jank and a cat named Adam screwing with our production.
Big ol’ P.S.: Thanks to Lacertilian and Leif Bearikson for the rough format idea and the solid chunk of ‘sodes they made under the Riff-Raff name. We’d like to open up the format to any contributor duos who’d like to try it out, but we’ll keep the spot warm if y’all get the itch to record again. <3
2020 Music Featured This Week:
(intro) Jars – ‘Mr. Visionary’ from ДЖРС III
Montuln – ‘Arquetipo’ from Arquetipo
Svrm – ‘Розпад’ from Розпад
Katavasia – ‘Hordes of Oblivion’ from Magnus Venator
Porenut – ‘Manifest’ from Postnihilera
Fortið – ‘Insignificant is the Wormking’s Throne’ from World Serpent
Vital Spirit – ‘Face of the Suon’ from In The Faith That Looks Through Death

Toilet Radio 290 – Cameo Reviews From Hell
It took 290 episodes but we finally did a Good One. Join Breno, Jordo, and Joe as we scour the depths of Cameo to determine the best way to deepen our parasocial relationships with Celebs – They’re just like us! We check out some of our favorite metal musicians, voice actors, and hideously washed up 90s movie stars. If you’ve got between $20 and $500 we’ve got a confused, slurring Cameo for you. If there was ever an episode to tune in to, this is the one.

Toilet Radio 289 – BYE WEEK
On this week’s show we offer a preview of JOEY DEMAIO’S WORDS OF POWER podcast, we do a little ONLINE GAMBLING and take a few lessons from Trading Places, we ask the real question this week: why isn’t Creed playing the Super Bowl halftime show???, metal dudes whining about being on the road in a time when they can’t get on the road (feat. Randy Blythe punched in the nose), getting a rare COVID variant at a Toby Keith show, we reflect on the Dead Kennedy’s praise of Senate Republicans, and we have BIG QUESTIONS about Nightwish bassist Marko “Marco” Hietala leaving the band citing concerns about the Saudis (?) and also probably John Finberg. Boy this is a strange one.

Toilet Radio 287 – Donut Friend is My Donut Enemy
This week your boys decide they need new names, so please welcome Brenocide, Joe Thrasnkool, and uhhhh… 365 Days of Horror. Breno remembers Alexi Laiho (1979-2020) and music that impacted us in high school. We’re delving into the punk rock donut shop union busting going on by former Drive Like Jehu drummer and punk producer Mark Trombino. Not very punk rock! Joe tracked down an old external hard drive and we’re talking about the CANCELLED MySpace-era shit we used to listen to that is thankfully lost to the sands of time, old MP3 players increasing in value, and other Old Ways in Music. Finally, we’re talking about Jon Schaffer getting arrested and speculating WILDLY on what will happen next (with a musical contribution). It’s a good one.

Toilet Radio 286 – RIP Devil Daddy (2020-2021)
Joe and Jordo hop on the mic this week to talk all kinds of shit: Tommy Vext got kicked outta his band and got rewarded with $118,000. We’re, uh, being censored too? Psychosexual appears to have been cleansed from the internet. What comes next will surely be worse! The guy from FFDP deleted all his tweets, the smartest thing he’s done in a quite a while. BLAST FROM THE PAST: That guy from King 810 was briefly relevant again when he showed up in a vintage Pelle Pelle jacket to storm the capitol. Weird! We’re also talking about contradictory feels when it comes to death metal and Joe threatening to record a bad album. Overall, pretty good episode IMHO.

Toilet Radio 285 – *Unintelligible Patriot Noises*
We tried to do a fun, silly show last week and then a bunch of jetski dealers stormed the capitol and killed a cop. So much for keeping it light in 2k21. This week we’re talking about Jon Schaeffer (and to a much, much lesser extent Michale Graves) and the bizarre, ahistorical petit bourgeois riot in DC. We’re also talking about the end of Tommy Vext (rest in piss) and reflections upon Jose Mangin, a man that brings us together with our collective hatred. Boy is this a show, folks.

Toilet Radio 284 – De Mysteriis Dom 80s Powerus Metallus
New year, new show! This week your boys are talking mad shit on a lesser podcast hosted by some rich limeys, Fleshgod Apocalypse covering Blue (Da Ba Dee Ba Ba Dah) and the rich vein of 90s german technopop we’re hoping gets covered next, and Danzig finding love in a hopeless place (the set of Verotika). It actually seems very sweet! Good on the happy couple. Finally, we’re trying to find the origin of a 33-year old power metal demo that has mystified everyone and discussing our white whales of songs that don’t exist on the internet. It’s a very good one!

Toilet Radio 282 – So Long, Stink Year
Happy New Years, folks. We’re talking about all kinds of shit on this one. First up, New Years Eve! Will you be wearing an adult diaper in Times Square this year? Tim Lambesis went and set his dumbass body on fire with gasoline: maybe the year wasn’t all that bad! Tommy Vext: He sucks! Inside baseball: Pulling back the curtain on the magic of metal blogging! Lambgoat tells us all what it takes to make a dollar after 20 years in this industry. Not great! Finally, we hit you all with our metal predictions for 2021. It’s a good un folks.

Toilet Radio 281 – Mary Crimbo
It’s Christmastime. Your boys are bullshitting about the various complications this particular holiday in a year of plague. Joe and Breno are hypocrites but at least Breno got his wife a tarantula. We’re talking about crimbo movies that are actually pretty fucking siqqqq, people in countries that aren’t the US that listen to us for some reason, metal Xmas records pt. VIII, Do They Know It’s Christmas?, feeling totally unruffled by bad metal opinions, and a desperate need to see the shittiest local show we can imagine. Then we open some mf presents. Jordan always gets us the nicest shit. God we love Jordan. And we love you. I hope that you’re able to find some joy in this joyless time.
