Sickboy
CBC
Sickboy is the only place where terminal diagnoses can peacefully coexist with jokes we probably shouldn't make. Hosted by three best friends, Jeremie, Brian, and Taylor, this show smashes taboos around illness, death, and everything in between. Inspired by Jeremie’s life with Cystic Fibrosis, we dive headfirst into the uncomfortable, the hilarious, and the heartbreaking. We talk to people living with everything from chronic disease to catastrophic injury, mental health struggles to medical miracles - and we do it with radical empathy, zero BS, and the kind of unfiltered jokes that get us kicked out of support groups. If you’ve ever felt weird, broken, or like no one gets it, welcome. New episodes drop every Wednesday. Pull up a seat; it’s gonna get real.Follow Sickboy on Instagram & TikTok!

Overcoming Addiction w/ The Robin Hood of Psychedelics
This week the fellas sit down for a chat with Jerry, the founder of Microdelics, an online company that specializes in LSD microdosing. So what is Microdosing? The practice of taking tiny quantities of psychedelic drugs (such as LSD or Psilocybin) with the hope of gaining some kind of brain boost. People who microdose claim it makes them more productive, more creative and more focused. But this episode is much more than talking about tripping and the potential therapeutic positive's from psychedelics. Jerry's story is one that is worthy if it's own Netflix special. From 20 plus years of severe drug addiction, to getting clean and starting a dispensary, to cultivating and supporting a thriving community, to being busted by the feds! Buckle up and get ready for a heartfelt conversation about struggle and a hopeful story of advocacy.

A Drunk Driver Changed My Life w/ Maia Vezina
This week the boys and their new BFF Maia shake up an entire live audience with a live show for the ages! The fellas play a game of ""Afterlife Price Is Right"". What would you choose? Cryo with your willy out? Blasted into space? Or sprinkled into a vibrating dildo urn? Maia then takes everyone on a heart-wrenching story of trauma. On June 9th 2013 Maia and her mother were hit by a drunk driver. The accident resulted in years of recovery. Coma, avascular necrosis, scheduled amputation and more. Luckily for the world, Maia and her mother are still here! We hope that their story will make people think twice about getting behind the wheel while intoxicated.
Upon the day of releasing this episode, Maia has just returned home from a fusion/bone marrow transplant. She is in for a long long road to recovery and could use some positive vibes and love. Go follow her on instagram - @livingnowwithmaia

It’s the end of the world as we know it. Or is it? Do we even have the rights to use that song? Anyway, Jeremie, Brian and measly intern Lauren talk COVID-19. FAT Bias
This week Brian and Jeremie sit down with Meredith. She is pursuing her Master’s at MSVU in Dietetics and her research revolves around weight bias in healthcare. We touch on the BS of BMI, set weight, intuitive eating and more. More importantly we touch the biases that fat people face in the healthcare system. To quote Meredith, ""I can argue until I am blue in the face that fat people can be healthy (which they can!), but sometimes talking about health masks the real issue, which is that people of all sizes deserve respect and fair treatment, regardless of their health status."" This is is a conversation made to make you think, but what we hope everyone takes from this one is that language and compassion are everything!
