I'm joined by two very special guests Emma Cassidy and Martine Dines as they take us through their breast cancer diagnosis. Emma was diagnosed just before me and has since become one of my best friends. Today she’ll tell me about how she dealt with being told she had the BRCA gene and how the most unexpected miracle took place when she least expected it. Martine was 29 when she was diagnosed this summer. Thousands of miles from her family, the Australian community down under threw their arms around her and campaigned for her family to join her even though the boarders were closed. After calling off her wedding in 2020, Dominique Nugent's world fell apart. Debs Walker, originally from Dublin, tells me about finding a baby boy in a parking lot in Texas. Debs, her husband Josh and their three kids moved to Texas 16 years ago. My guest this week is Dan Buettner. He’s a New York Times best-selling author and founder of The Blue Zones. Lotte Bowser speaks to me about her fiancé Ben Kouijzer, who died in a Mexican hospital after contracting Covid 19, in 2020. Ben, who had a successful career as a music agent, had been diagnosed with cancer in 2019. His diagnosis came as a complete shock and Lotte did everything in her power to keep Ben here. They travelled to Mexico to get treatment for Ben, but after testing positive for Covid, Ben slipped away. He was just 36 years old. Today, Lotte tells me about their journey together, their never ending love for each other and how she is slowly rebuilding her life one step at a time. This is a story of true love and Lotte has become a voice for those navigating grief as thousands of people follow her journey online. Niamh Cullen speaks to me today about friendship, love and starting afresh. Niamh is a fitness instructor and started her business Monday Club in 2019. Where do I start with the beautiful Anna Lee Dowling. I first came across Anna Lee after a tweet she posted went viral, earlier this year. She tweeted that she was found in a train station in China, and went on to be adopted by Irish parents. I was beyond excited when I reached out and she agreed to be a guest on The Good Glow. Today, Anna Lee tells me how she ended up with the most loving parents in Ireland, her deep rooted connection to China and how revisiting the train station where she was found brought up so many emotions. Anna Lee is a bright young girl who I have no doubt will go on to do wonderful things. Her approach to life and the ups and downs we endure along the way is inspiring. Damian Browne is a former professional rugby player and adventurer from Galway. Damian has rowed across the Atlantic Ocean and completed many more challenges. This year, climbing Mount Everest was top of his list. A couple of months ago, I started to follow his journey and listen to his podcast, Deep Roots, which he was recording from the mountain. I was so intrigued by his journey and loved listening to him speak about the challenge, his fears and how he felt every day (it sounded like a rollercoaster of emotions). It was one thing for another for Damian, and today he tells me the story in full. It’s fascinating. I asked him what Everest sounded like? His answer gave me GOOSEBUMPS.
