TCW58: Crypto’s up, Oprah’s out and Soph’s a little bit tiddly.

Crypto is flying high, up 150% in the last six months (and Soph and Vic invested!). To celebrate, Soph’s enjoying a Corona in bed while Vic sips on her lemon water. Bliss. And the good news doesn’t end there. The price of gold is also hitting record highs, parental leave in Australia is getting 12% sweeter, and while Oprah’s reasons for leaving the board may be questionable, it seems that Weight Watchers is getting a taste of its own low-carb, low-fat and highly outdated medicine. Oh, and Vic’s into circumcision now. Buckle up, people. Watch this episode on YouTube. RTC105: Why ‘Girl Math’ needs the boot, with Bronwyn Taylor.

‘If I buy something then return it, I’ve basically made money. If I pay in cash, it’s literally free. Anything under $5 doesn’t count.’ If you’ve been on any form of social media lately, you’ve no doubt witnessed the fast-growing (and for many people, quite funny) trend, ‘Girl Math’. In today’s episode, we sit down with Bronwyn Taylor, a delightful and highly intelligent economist, to talk about gender stereotyping, ingrained sexism and the deep-rooted problems that come with labelling girls as mathematically less-than. Whether you love ‘Girl Math’ or hate it (you’ll probably hate it by the end of this episode) this is a hugely insightful chat, and a must-listen for everyone out there.  To read Bronwyn's original article on girl math, click here. TCW57: Get over yourself, Wendy.

This week, Vic’s flying out, Soph’s dancing like Derulo and Wendy’s thrown a big cheesy spanner in the works. We look at the burger surge, the backlash and if the fast-food icon is being wildly arrogant or weirdly clever. And with so many big names selling stocks and hoarding cash (we’re looking at you Buffett, Bezos and Zuckerberg), there’s an air of uncertainty rippling through the finance world – so should we be fearful and careful, or is it time to get greedy? Plus, we’ve got hot tips, epic songs and a couple of shit finance quotes. Big week, people! Watch this episode on Youtube. TCW56: Hey Taylor, keen to fix our recession?

After a wholesome old weekend, filled with nudity, ice baths and open-fire cooking, we’re back in the real world and ready to get stuck into some finance. While Goldman Sachs is dealing with some women-in-power issues (shock horror), Taylor Swift is proving that females can do anything … like bring entire countries out of recession. And while Bitcoin’s embarking on a halving event, Japan’s stock market has been doubling (and doubling again). Oh, and we’re on YouTube! Tune in to see Soph’s dramatic expressions and Vic’s rich face. Enjoy! Watch this episode on YouTube. RTC103: A trip down memory lane (with the oldest, baldest, kindest guests we’ve ever had).

We love each and every one of our guests, but today’s duo is on another level. A bit old, a bit bald and endlessly kind … today, we’re lucky enough to be talking to Mike Hallwright (of the cereal noises) and Ian Harris (of the 40-year moustache). Aka, our dads. Although neither wants to be here, Mike and Ian really come to the party – spilling on the tea on our money-personalities growing up. Who stole from their family to buy McDonalds? Who racked up $18,000 of credit card debt? Who sold bags of goldfish to her classmates? Who ate nothing but bulk-bought porridge for two weeks? Who has the cuter, funnier, lovelier dad? (Spoiler, we both do). Watch the episode on Youtube. TCW55: Green flags for Uber, red flags for Amazon, and no more flowers for Vic.

As we race through this speedy little episode, the race is also on for a couple of transportation big dogs. With Uber finally in the green and Lyft firmly in the red (with red faces all round), it seems we have a clear-cut winner … for now. And while Jeff Bezos is getting even richer and Vic’s flower supply has been shockingly cut off, Maggie Marilyn is keeping it chic: out there, on the streets of London, quite literally saving lives. This one’s for you, Meg! Watch the episode on YouTube. Good dates, horrible dates, family drama, weird rashes … for most of us, this kind of personal info will be talked about with a friend (or the entire girls’ WhatsApp chat).
