"Robot Dreams" had its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in the Special Screenings section, where it received enthusiastic reviews for its seemingly simple but complex telling of a story about connection and friendship between a Dog and a Robot, all without dialogue. "El Conde" had its world premiere at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival (where it won the Golden Osella for Best Screenplay), where it received positive reviews for its satire of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet as a 250-year-old vampire seeking death. Three-time Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Edward Lachman was tasked with bringing Pablo Larraín's unique vision to the screen in stunningly gorgeous black and white.
