[FFL 384] Aim Conflation

The missions and visions we develop for our businesses matter. Developing a clear "why" can provide perspective and depth to a brand and provide momentum and clarity to our higher purpose in life. But what can happen if we are too hyperfocused on our mission without the proper structures and processes to back it up? Keep Reading >> Today, I share what aim conflation is and how it can arise within mission-driven businesses if leaders do not prioritize proper organizational structures and strategies first and foremost. I highlight the risks of being distracted by the enormity of your mission and how this can prevent you from building a truly effective business model. I also discuss how grounding your business in practical action can provide you with the capacity to give back and do more good in the world than ever before. [FFL 383] 5 Ways Women Entrepreneurs Abdicate Power

"What do you think of this idea?" Often in business, we as leaders ask our team for input on our proudest ideas before we have looked in the mirror and asked ourselves the very same question. By prioritizing "collaboration" over clarity, we lose focus on our vision and goals. This tendency is just one of the many ways that we, as female entrepreneurs, abdicate our power and prevent the company we birthed from becoming the brand of our dreams. Keep Reading >> Today, I share five specific ways that female entrepreneurs commonly abdicate their leadership power and examples of what this looks like in action. I discuss how limiting beliefs surrounding topics such as money, commitments, and whether to engage with the details can impact your business as well as how you can take your power back. I also provide insight into why it is crucial to make your intentions explicit so you can act in alignment with your vision and your word and lead from a place of clarity and purpose. "The first way that we stop abdicating power is by allowing ourselves to become aware."- Eleanor Beaton Today on the Fierce Feminine Leadership Podcast: The relationship that female leaders typically have to power Why owning your power is essential in leading a business with impact Five common ways that women abdicate power in their lives and work The effect that influential female leaders have had in my own life Why the abdication of power is so pervasive among women and how gender norms play a role Why it is so important to normalize the conversation surrounding women and power What the abdication of power looks like in action Specific examples of intentional and default outcomes How women forfeit power under the guise of collaboration and/or consultation The importance of knowing your vision first and foremost to create the company you love Why asking for input from your team prematurely can be detrimental Communications tools you can implement to reframe conversations and reclaim your power The importance of setting effective business goals and believing in your ability to achieve them How your money mindset can drastically impact your business performance How a weekly money meeting can help you build a better relationship with it The relationship between your word and your power and how neglecting this can lead to overcommitment and burnout How intentionality can lead to more impactful business conversations Why you cannot avoid the discomfort of details as a leader Join the Fierce Community! [FFL 382] The Tyranny of Chill

Have you ever been in a meeting where one person takes over simply because they are the strongest, loudest voice in the room? If so, your team may be falling victim to the tyranny of chill. Often, we blame the assertive team member for their role in the team dynamic. In reality, however, situations like these indicate an abdication of power that begins at the leadership level. Keep Reading >> Today, I share the detrimental impact of forfeiting your leadership power, in meetings and on a larger scale, and how you can stay on the right path even though the tyranny of chill is human nature. I discuss how the tyranny of chill arises, how it can impede your goals and the importance of expressing your intentions to achieve intentional outcomes. I also highlight a few examples of the tyranny of chill in action and how you start reclaiming your power and your leadership impact. "When you abdicate power, you lose the connective thread between your vision and your outcome." - Eleanor Beaton Today on the Fierce Feminine Leadership Podcast: What the tyranny of chill is and how it is taking over the business world How the expectation of being laid-back gets in the way of performance How the tyranny of chill can impact you as a leader Default outcomes vs. intentional outcomes, and which one the tyranny of chill produces A step-by-step analysis of how the tyranny of chill arises Examples of the tyranny of chill in action How the "strongest voice" and the "squeakiest wheel" play a role Owning your power in leadership and what can happen if you don't Why the tyranny of chill is not okay, even if we have become accustomed to it The importance of expressing your intentions to get intentional outcomes How automation can aid in scaling a business Common ways entrepreneurs abdicate their power and why The difference between control and power A leadership myth when it comes to diving into details The responsibility you have for your power and the role of self-care in reclaiming your power as a leader Resources Mentioned: The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker Join the Fierce Community! [FFL 376] Insource Approval, Outsource Willpower

Bold, confident, self-assured - these are some of the many characteristics of an empowered female entrepreneur. But even these inspiring women cannot escape the inevitability of experiencing unstable and challenging times as a leader. During these turbulent times, many fall into the trap of seeking outside approval while salvaging the situation through willpower alone. Sadly, these leaders end up doing the exact opposite of the very thing they should have done in the first place, which is to insource approval and outsource willpower. Keep Reading >> Today, I share the tool I developed that helps female entrepreneurs of all levels who are going through crises in leadership - insourcing approval and outsourcing willpower. I dive into the negative effects of outsourcing approval and the essential skills you fail to learn when you focus on letting others' opinions be a defining factor when making decisions. I also share why insourcing willpower is not enough to create the results you want and how you can outsource it, instead, to make sure you have the bandwidth to make the decisions that matter the most. "When we begin outsourcing approval as a general M.O. in our lives - it creates a crisis of leadership. It becomes an absence of accountability."- Eleanor Beaton Today on the Fierce Feminine Leadership Podcast: The relationship between credibility and approval. How you could be slowing your own progress. What it looks like to outsource approval. Why you may doubt yourself when it's time to make decisions. How I personally saw and experienced the downside of outsourcing approval and insourcing willpower. A milestone that marked the end of the transference of authority in my life and the start of a new, liberating chapter. How to identify where you're outsourcing approval. The two things that help you insource approval. Join the Exclusive Incubator Program! Are you ready to build, leverage, and scale your business to the next level?
