Ep. 575: Sailing in the Arctic - Brady Trautman and Alex Blue
Sailing: A voyage to Svalbard's iceberg-filled waters just 600 miles from the North Pole, featuring polar bear encounters and navigating treacherous Arctic conditions aboard SV Delos. We heard from Captain Brian Trautman of SV Delos a while back about sailing around the world. As a way to mix things up, they recently sailed far from their usual tropical landscapes to one of iceberg-filled water of Svalbard, only 600 miles from the North Pole. The experience proved rewarding and overflowing with adventure. We get to hear about everything from their night watching for damaging icebergs as well as their “Day of Magic” that includes an up close encounter with a polar bear.
