Well, hello, Goal Digger, welcome back to another episode. So today we're going to talk about three tools I'm using in my business to 10X. Tools and systems are everything when it comes to scaling your business. Scaling your business just means you're going to grow it without working more hours and it's going to allow you to be very productive. Okay. And that's the name of the game, and that's one of my strengths. So that's what we're going to talk about today. I'm really excited to share these tools with you. Oh, thank you, Danielle. That's so sweet. And that really is the goal. So I'm so, so thankful to hear that that's what you think. And I appreciate the review. You guys, anytime you can do that, it helps us out so much. So I'm going to share with you just three tools today. If you've ever seen any of my other trainings, I'm always mentioning apps and resources and all the things, but I'm just going to narrow it down to three. It was really hard to pick three, but I thought, you know, what are three tools that I use every day, and most importantly have allowed me to get more done, be more organized, more focused? How does that sound now? The first one, I know you've heard me talk about this, but I want to explain how I'm using it. Okay. So, the first one is Trello.
Now we have students that get into our Academy because we use Trello boards for accountability. So their whole program is on the Trello board with their action steps. And that's how we actually are keeping track of their progress and I'm on their boards. And we will, I would say probably one out of 20 people that enroll go, "oh man, I just, it's taking me a minute to get Trello". So we'll hop onto Zoom and walk them through it. If that's you, you're listening, you're like, "oh, that's me". Listen, Anna tried to get me on Trello.

Hey, Hey everyone, Kimberly Olson here. For today's episode we're going to talk about what to do if you're not enrolling new customers or new business builders. So whether or not you've had success up until this point, we all get to a place in our business where we're like, "I want to be enrolling more people", right? So if you have a team or you're working on your own personal volume, we're going to want to look at what you're doing right now and what you need to change. So I want to welcome you guys on. Where is your focus right now for your business? Is it enrolling new customers or business builders, or both? Drop that in the comments below so I can see where everyone's at and you can focus on one or the other.
It doesn't have to be all the things, right? There's different seasons of our business. So what I will say to you is if you have been enrolling, but you're not anymore, and you are going, "what is going on?" If you have a team and you are frustrated that they're not enrolling, the first thing I want to say to you is check yourself before you wreck yourself. Okay? Meaning if you have a team and they're slowing down, it's you. Okay? I know, so rude. But it is you. Our team is always going to be a reflection of us. So when I work with leaders and they're like, "yeah, I don't know what's going wrong. We're just not recruiting, we're not growing, we're actually going down". When I dig in, their personal volume isn't there. They're not enrolling people to them. That's the first thing I would say.
If you have a team people you're working with, look in the mirror, okay? Second thing is, if you are trying to enroll new customers or business builders, it has nothing to do with your team, but you. And you're not. I want you to ask yourself, are you working your business every day? What I mean by that is, are you planting seeds out there? Are you having conversations with people? Are you sharing what you do every single day? You should not go to sleep until you have shared with one new person a day.

It's not me.
Kimberly Olson:
Well, you have Finka, that is so cool, you could just go by that like Oprah. I love it. So it's fabulous. Well, thank you for being on.
Finka Jerkovic:
So just a quick story. Even when I was younger, I imagined myself being a designer and my label would be Finka.
Kimberly Olson:
See, I thought that right away, like I can see in script, Finka. Well, maybe you'll go on to something and kind of lifestyle brand at some point. Well, I'm excited to have you on. My people are going to love this because they struggle with sales. It's the number one thing that I hear, my audience is mostly network marketers, direct sellers, and some coaches. And we have others too, but pretty much anyone online building on social media. And this is the part, this is the part that people get hung up on. And I really want to spend some time picking your brain today. But since you may be new to some of my audience, I would love for you to introduce yourself. Tell us a little bit about you and what got you into entrepreneurship.
Finka Jerkovic:
So I have a background in corporate. So I had spent two and a half decades in financial services, mainly in sales type roles, either as a financial advisor, sales leader .worked in sales strategy and communication. And then my last role I was in management and I loved everything that I did, but there were certain parts of it that I'm like, "I know I love the selling aspect. I know I love the people development aspect", and I thought I loved the people development aspect more. And so I ended up becoming a coach and this was way back, I'd say eight years now. And that's sort of the starting point for me of going on that entrepreneurship adventure. And in 2015, it was almost like, "okay, this is, it let's do it". It wasn't only work. It was also lifestyle. And so we ended up, I made my business full-time and at the same time we took our city life.

Hey, Goal Digger. Welcome back to another episode of The Goal Digger Girl. This is Kimberly Olson. I'm so excited to connect with you today. We're going to talk about something different, something fun, and that is LinkedIn. But first a listener review. Says, "Valuable! Kim is so relatable and always gets right to the point in her podcast. I was tired of listening to long podcasts that took too long to get to the point finding this one has been a total blessing and I get so much value out of each and every episode, Emily". Well, thank you, Emily. I appreciate that so much. And I'm going to actually share something fun about my name since she said Kim, most of you call me Kimberly. So I actually went by Kim growing up and my family called me Kimmy. So that was my nickname. Uh huh. And when I- it's actually kind of funny.
So when I was in my mid twenties, shout out to one of my roommates, Jackie McLaughlin. So we lived together in our mid-twenties and we decided that we were going to go by our full names to sound grown up. So she was obviously Jackie and she went by Jacqueline and I went by Kimberly. And so that was my first like venture using Kimberly. And then later on, when I started getting online, I realized that I liked the distinction between everyday and online in business. So professionally, I always introduce myself as Kimberly. And if people ask, "how do you want to be addressed?" I always say Kimberly. So have you ever wondered about that? Day-to-day people call me Kim and online, professionally, business, all the people- like, even Anna that have known me professionally this whole time, even though we're super close, she calls me Kimberly.
So there's a little nugget for you today. All right. So let's get into it. Have you considered LinkedIn? Because it is literally the business builder's dream. Okay. I want you to think about this. Most people are pretty good at getting customers, which you can get anywhere. TikTok, Reels, Facebook, hosting events, living room locals, giving a sample at the grocery store. Like that's pretty easy. But business building and enrolling teammates is definitely a different beast.

By doing this, you are going to learn how to attract qualified leads. People tell me all the time, "oh, well you have an audience. That's why you recruit in double digits each month". And I say, "no, that's not true!". Because there's so many people on my team that are also recruiting, getting tons of customers from people they don't even know without audiences, without followers. I mean, I'm just over it. So I'm going to be real and raw with you in this episode and tell you exactly what I'm doing and what the people who are having success on my team are doing. All right, so what we want to do first off is we want to stop posting and praying. Okay? You don't want to get yourself in a situation where you're crossing your fingers, hoping somebody comments. Or maybe they'll view your story or reach out. And you also don't want to pitch without permission.
Okay? You don't want to be sending your link to anyone or just feeling really desperate. I mean, believe it or not, people can sense your energy.
So if you're not having results, even though you're reaching out to people, it's probably your energy, your posture. They can sense that you're just kind of grasping at straws. And this is always my guiding light. This is how I just continue to continue to defend the way that I'm teaching people to build versus what's still being taught out there with just, you know, "you've got to message people every day!" How does it feel?

What is that thing? Right. When you see people are successful, you want to know. I'll never forget, when I got into my first coaching program, when I got into network marketing and really social media and online marketing, I remember she said, "okay, for the upcoming group coaching call, I'm going to walk you through my day". I don't know if she was quite at seven figures, but she was making multiple six figures. And I was making like, you know, a thousand dollars a month or 2000. Like, I was not making a lot yet. And I remember thinking, "gosh, if I could just know what she's doing!" And I got on the call, I never get on calls live. I'm a replay girl, and I was working full-time at the time, so I could never make them. And I got on it somehow. I don't remember how, but I was like, "I have to know", like I just it's imprinted in my mind.
I wanted to know. And when you think about the people that are around you, whether they're successful in sales and revenue, building a team, just their swag and posture online, right. Or maybe it's a friend that just seems really happily married and you're like, "gosh, what's her secret?" Right? Well, this is what it is. This is the most important thing. Okay. The most important thing is to decide. And I'm going to give you the definition to explain why this is so important. And I know you're going to, "oh gosh, Kimberly. Decide? That's really what this is about?"

I am so excited to be here. I'm thrilled. I think there's a great synergy between the audiences. 'Cause you talk about visibility and I talk about sales and I'm like, well! I mean if you have all these eyeballs on you, how do you convert them into money? So I think this is great. I'm super excited to talk about this.
Kimberly Olson:
This is so great. It's the perfect marriage. Yeah. And that's the thing. Like we do a lot with audience building and then they go, "but how do I actually close people?" And I teach funnel people to your Facebook group, love on them, nurture them, but there's still a gap between that and actually closing sales. So if you're new to anyone in my audience, can you share with everyone a little bit about you, your background? What got you into it?
Amanda Abella:
Yeah. So I am the CEO and founder of Make Money or Honey, which is a marketing and sales training company for creatives, coaches, and consultants. Women coaches, creatives, and consultants, I should say. And basically we help people with their system, influence and sales. So we'll help them build their intellectual property. We'll help them grow their influence. And then we actually teach you everything sales. Like I joke that our main program, sales is literally like half the program. And the reason I got here is because I've been in sales since I was 20, but nobody told me. So I was doing fundraising, I was a recruiter. That's what I was doing at my previous employment. I gave tours for my college, which was all about like sales presentation and getting donors and all that kind of stuff. And then I started my first business in 2010. I was actually a freelance writer. So I actually did marketing and freelance writing for financial companies, and financial brands, and financial websites for eight years.

And I appreciate everything you guys. So when it comes to setting a goal, this is why it's not enough to just set the goal. This is why New Year's resolutions don't work or you'll set the goal and then it's part way through the year and you're like, "yeah, that's not happening", right? If you actually listen to The Secret, which is a really good, there's an audio book, a book, there's a movie. I love it. Love it so much. It's changed my life, to be honest, The Secret. But the one piece that was kind of missing in The Secret is taking action. So it's not enough just to think about what you want.
You actually need to take action, but you also need to make sure that it's realistic and that there's a plan behind it. So one of the biggest red flags I see with students that come into our programs, or new team members that enroll on my team directly. So whenever someone decides to work with me or we talk through it and we think it's a good fit and they're working directly with me, I have them fill out a form so I know their goals.

So this episode, I needed to do this because I wanted to share with you how I really feel about what's going on in the world. I know a lot of you are empaths, a lot of you have struggled with mental wellness throughout all of this. I know more people have gone to drinking, or overeating, or getting more isolated, struggling with depression, anxiety. Like all this stuff going on in the world really does impact us.
So my goal for sharing this is one, I'm sure you're curious of what I think, but two is that hopefully I can give you some information that can help you to feel more comfortable with what's going on in the world so you feel that you actually have a choice. Because I think a lot of people feel like their hands are tied right now. And to an extent it's true. You know, if you think about some of the horrible things that have happened in our history where people had to report back to their homes and stay there and people were just controlled where they lived, and all of that. I have friends that can't travel outside of their country, you know? And, it's kind of crazy. So I understand how you feel.

When I think about the question I get most from my students is how do I talk to people? Right? How do I share what I do without being weird or spammy? How do I actually get the conversation that direction and be able to cross the finish line, and have more customers, more clients and more business builders? Once I made the shift in the way I was showing up online, everything changed for me. So if you have followed my journey and you are thinking, "wow, she has a really big team, and seems to be enrolling a lot of people!" I do have a good sized team and I do enroll a lot of people. Last month alone, I enrolled about 10 people and this is alongside a full-time coaching business that I run that's multiple seven figures. So that's my "full-time job" where my network marketing is more my, what I do on the side.
Right. So I've got a lot going on. So how am I able to do that without, by the way, reaching out to people and messaging them? Now, do I reach out and message people and have conversations? Yes. Okay. So when I say I don't reach out, I mean, I don't cold message. There's a big difference. Okay. So how have I been able to do that? Well, I made a huge shift back when I started out. So the first six months of the business was all, pretty much warm market and a little bit of referrals through some customers. So that was going pretty well. But then when I ran out of people, I was like, Oh my gosh, WTF, what am I going to do?
