Episode 83: How Psychedelics Can Help Save The World (feat. Stephen Gray)

For many of us who are curious observers of the world around us, I imagine it has been easy to tell that our world is going through a shakening up of sorts as of late. Whether it’s with mental health, climate change, politics, war, or simply a general underlying feeling of tension & angst, it is clear to see something is shifting, yet in order to have this shift be able to make us into a new, more balanced & harmonious society, rather than break us down into more of the same, outdated way of living, we must venture into the unknown. It is in the unknown that we can truly discover what we are missing &, in my opinion, one of the most effective ways to enter the unknown is within psychedelic medicine. Stopping back by the show today to share all about his upcoming book, “How Psychedelics Can Help Save The World” todays guest & I will be going over some of the reasons why he believes psychedelics could be one of the avenues that could help usher in this more connected, harmonious future that we all know is possible deep down in our hearts. In addition, we will also be going over the necessary frameworks & guidelines from which psychedelic medicines could have the biggest impact on allowing us to reach this brighter future & much, much more from his new book. https://www.highlyoptimized.com @therealryansprague

Episode 82: Leading The Charge In Psychedelic Education (feat. Paul Austin)

One thing I imagine we can all agree on when it comes to the realm of psychedelics & plant medicines is that it is up to each one of us to BE the change, so to speak, within this realm. For a subject that has been controversial for so long & has the ability to offer so much support in the human experience when done in the proper context or do so much damage when done without proper awareness of the potency associated with these medicines, it is by each of us showing the world what conscious, responsible consumption of these medicines looks like that we can begin to shift the narrative more & more. Todays guest on the show is a man who has made it his life’s work to be at the forefront of the change that is so desperately needed within the long held mainstream narrative surrounding these sacred allies. He is the founder of not one, but two psychedelic focused companies, including Synthesis, which is focused on allowing individuals to have direct experiences with medicines such as psilocybin truffles in safe containers to gain insight on their experience of life & Third Wave, which is focused on building an educational platform to ensure psychedelic substances become responsibly integrated into our cultural framework. Currently, Third Wave offers long-form psychedelic guides, online microdosing programs, an industry-best network of clinics and retreat providers & an incredible podcast to allow individuals to continue learning & gaining awareness around this space & in todays episode, we will be diving into his experiences with these medicines, what led him to getting into the business side of psychedelic medicines, what his vision is for the future of conscious, responsible psychedelic use & much, much more. About Paul Paul F. Austin is an entrepreneur, public speaker, and educator. He has founded two companies in the emerging psychedelic space, Third Wave and Synthesis.Within Third Wave, Paul leads his team in building an educational platform to ensure psychedelic substances become responsibly integrated into our cultural framework.Currently, Third Wave offers long-form psychedelic guides, online microdosing programs, and an industry-best network of clinics and retreat providers. In 2018, Paul co-founded Synthesis, and led several high-dose psilocybin truffle retreats over the span of one year. When not leading retreats, Paul headed up branding, marketing, and public relations for Synthesis before stepping back to focus on Third Wave full-time.Because of his pioneering work at the intersection of psychedelic use, personal transformation, and professional success, Paul has been featured in the BBC, Forbes, and Rolling Stone.Paul sees psychedelic use as a skill, one that becomes more refined as we explore the many nuances of these awe-inspiring medicines and molecules.Learning how to hone this skill will be crucial in the story of humanity’s present-future evolution.Connect with Paul https://www.instagram.com/thirdwaveishere/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCATHWJYqouqzF3-5GMIaOuQ https://www.linkedin.com/company/third-wave-psychedelics/  This episode was produced by Mazel Tov Media in Quincy, Massachusetts.Thank you to our podcast sponsors!Freedom Builderz - https://www.freedombuilderz.com/Building profitable online programs FOR coaches using Kajabi so they can smoothly hit 10k months!https://www.highlyoptimized.com @therealryansprague

Episode 81: Inducing Altered States Through Sensory Deprivation (feat. Max Casa)

As many of you may be aware, although we can access psychedelic states through connecting with sacred plant medicines, we can also do so by releasing our own endogenous hallucinogenic compounds, such as endogenous DMT. Popular modalities such as breathwork have become well known for being able to allow us to experience this concept, however, one other modality that is not spoken about often with regards to endogenous DMT & psychedelic states is that of float therapy. Todays guest on the show is a master in the realm of float therapy & was called to this realm as his dreams to be the next UFC featherweight were challenged by countless health obstacles & as such, he originally got into float therapy to help with physical challenges & soon realized that along with providing relief for his physical body, floating was also able to provide mental, emotional & spiritual support as well. He is the owner of “Max Vitality”, in which he has brought together his lifelong career in martial arts, his passion for performance coaching & his expertise in being a medicine man to empower those he serves in being able to take control of their lives & learn to thrive, rather than merely survive, in their lives & in todays episode, we will be diving into his journey into these realms, the steady state of DMT that is released & available to us in silent darkness, how the energetic blockages we can illuminate with medicines such as Cannabis are affecting our mineral levels & much, much more!Show Notes:(3:00) How Max first got into his practice. (7:05) Floating & psychedelics.(9:38) Being up and down regulated. (10:55) Floatation Therapy and its useage. (15:16) Hosting shamanic ceremonies. (29:24) Shadow Work.(37:06) Experimenting with cannabis in the float tank.(44:47) How floatation therapy has helped Max!(59:24) Where you can reach Max.(1:00:17) Max’s final piece of advice for the listeners!Join the Highly Optimized Ceremony Circle on Facebook! https://www.highlyoptimized.me This episode was produced by Mazel Tov Media in Quincy, Massachusetts.https://www.highlyoptimized.com @therealryansprague

Episode 80: Riding The Edges Of The Human Experience (feat. Jeff Depatie)

When we take a second to contemplate upon the idea of psychedelic & plant medicines, one thing that can be objectively said regarding them is that in one way or another, they will allow us to explore the edges of the human experience when we go into our experiences with them. For some of us, such as todays guest on the show, exploring these edges can give us great solace in life in the understanding that it is in riding the edges of our human experience that  we can not only grow, but that we can push the boundaries of who we think we are & in doing so, dare to question everything we think we know about ourselves in place of what source has in store to show us about ourselves. Sharing his time, wisdom & experience with us today on the show is a gentleman who, like I mentioned previously, has made it his mission in life to ride these edges & help others do the same in a fashion that can allow them to cultivate a deeper sense of who they are in the world than they ever thought previously was possible. He is a retired Joint Task Force Sniper, is the producer behind the wildly amazing documentary “Post Traumatic Growth”, which is a deep dive into the mysteries behind trauma & viewing adversity as an art form that can actually help bring us closer together, rather than tear us apart, like the mainstream narrative surrounding this subject would like us to believe. In addition, he is also the Chief Course Architect behind the “Special Forces Experience” project, which builds upon the information laid out in the “Post Traumatic Growth” documentary by allowing people to have a first hand, direct experience of intentional post traumatic growth stemming from riding the edges of the human experience & in todays episode, we will be diving into his experiences with psychedelic medicines, the through line he has found between the edges these medicines allow us to ride & the ability to have a similar experience through his work in the Special Forces Experience project he leads people through & much, much more. Show Notes:(3:41) How Jeff got interested in Psychedelics. (11:00) The feeling of rebellion that comes from being lied to about psychedelics, left vs right brain and the beauty of not knowing. (30:00) Check out FreedomBuilderz.com! (32:15) Surviving vs thriving and the hero’s journey. (46:30) Allowing yourself to experience more in life. (1:02:00) Cannabis being a great healer and optimizer and not getting addicted to your comfort patterns. (1:20:00) Understanding no one is perfect, dealing with trauma is just apart of the experience of life and finding the best version of yourself. (1:35:30) Where listeners can find Jeff. Episode 79: Connecting With Sacred Plants To Find Our Place In The Universe (feat. Noah Vilgrain)

For me & I imagine many of you listening to this show right now, I felt as though I didn’t fit into the world around me for a long time. Looking back in hindsight, it wasn’t that I objectively did not fit in, but rather, it was the feeling of not wanting to fit in to a broken system that led to me feeling flawed for so much of my young life. When we’re young, we lack the life experience & self awareness to accept ourselves for who we truly are in many cases & instead, look to the world around us to determine who we feel we should be & I truly feel this is one of the challenges we all go through in one way or another as we grow older & choose to individuate into the fullest expression of our authentic selves. Stopping by to share his experiences in the world of psychedelics with us today is a man who knows this fore mentioned challenge all too well. From a very young age, he was diagnosed with a brain atrophy which led to 30 percent of his brain not working properly & a subsequent diagnosis of autism. The result of this was that doctors told his parents that he should be sent away to a specialized home & essentially forgotten about & deemed unfit for society, however, his mother never gave up on him. She worked tirelessly with him to allow him to integrate into society & because of that, he was able to not only move through life successfully, have meaningful relationships & be a productive member of society, but he was also able to get himself to a point through therapy where he is no longer considered to have autism & with the help of psychedelics, he was able to further remediate his brain & experience of life into one that is not only great & grand, but is also fulfilling & in todays episode, we will be diving into his experiences with these medicines, his experiences using psychedelics to foster deeper connection in his life & much, much more. Noah VilgrainMy name is Noah Vilgrain. I was born with a brain atrophy which affected thirty percent of my brain to be useless. The doctors told my parents, I would never talk, be intelligent or have meaningful relationships with anyone. They told my parents I should be sent to a home and forgotten about. My mother never gave up on me and worked with me so that I could be able to live somewhat of a normal life. As it turns out my brain has the amazing capacity to heal itself. So throughout my entire life I went from one end of the spectrum to the other. After years of therapy and always working hard, I managed to get to the other side where I technically don't have autism. And yet I still have traits, my identity was that of a person with autism and was difficult to navigate who I was. In steps with the wonderful help of psychedelics which taught me how to be myself, how to navigate the world and how I could connect with other people on a much deeper level. Connect with NoahWebsite: https://www.podpage.com/mamas-boys/IG:  @NobravilThank you to our podcast sponsors!Freedom Builderz - https://www.freedombuilderz.com/Building profitable online programs FOR coaches using Kajabi so they can smoothly hit 10k months!Show Notes: (2:57) Challenges Noah faced at a young age.  (11:20) Noah’s introduction into psychedelics.(19:00) Check out FreedomBuilderz.com! (21:00) The benefits of using psychedelics ceremonially and in moderation. (27:40) When Noah realized he was able to integrate his psychedelic experiences into every day life. (40:00) Noah’s Ayahuasca experience.(1:08:30) Where you can find Noah! (1:20:00) Noah’s final piece of advice.Join the Highly Optimized Cerehttps://www.highlyoptimized.com @therealryansprague

Episode 78: Sacred Journeys Within Medicine Work, ET Encounters & More (feat. Drew Bankey)

For anyone who has experienced the realms of plant medicines & psychedelics, I imagine we can all agree when I say that there are some aspects of these journeys that can leave us with more questions than answers. When we tap into these realms, we are not only able to communicate with the plants, but we are also able to communicate with various life forms & off planet intelligence. Todays guest on the show is a man who is an expert in the fore mentioned realms & much, much more. He is an Iraqi Freedom war veteran, a medicine man, & holds distinctions from Native American culture such as Sundancer & Sacred Pipe Carrier. In addition, he also holds the South American name of Aguila Cósmica (Cosmic Eagle) & is widely considered a master of plant medicine specializing with Huachuma (San Pedro), Ayahuasca and Changa. Now, if all of that wasn’t enough, he is also the co founder of “Sacred Journeys Within”, which is a nonprofit plant medicine church, is the author of the two internationally distributed books “I’m perfect & so are you” & “Find your inner guru” & is the host of “The Eagles Nest Podcast” & in this episode, we will be diving into these aspects of his journey, his experiences with near death experiences, several ET contacts, being a caretaker of the crystal & star alter, & whatever else the divine wills into action in this epic dialogue we are about to embark upon. Episode 77: Viewing Music, Sound & Frequencies Through A Psychedelic Lens (feat. Ian Morris)

Oftentimes when I sit in ceremony with plant medicines & psychedelics alike, I am enamored not only by the effects these medicines can produce, but also by how incredibly unique the experience of music is when connecting with these medicines. The best part about this, in my opinion, is that once I experienced this, music has never been the same in my life since. I truly feel that music IS a psychedelic experience &, for me, the music that todays guest on the show creates is at the absolute top of my list with regards to being able to have a psychedelic experience even with no medicines added to the equation. As vibrational beings, music has the ability to heal us in profound ways &, quite literally, “tune” the instrument that we all are & in todays episode, we will be diving into the psychedelic nature of music, the ability for music to guide psychedelic experiences & the journey that our guest embarked upon in search of his own ability to heal himself when he was facing a series of health challenges & the results that his project, “Listening To Smile”, not only did for him, but has been able to do for thousands of others who have benefitted from the magic he is creating in this project. Show Notes:(2:38) How Ian first became interested in interacting with the psychedelic world. (7:36) How Ian engaged with psychedelics in a way to continue allowing his life to become a psychedelic. (15:35) The importance of Illuminating your shadows and how psychedelics can help improve relationships. (27:33) Check out FreedomBuilderz.com! (29:45) What Ryan thinks of microdosing and experiences with LSD. (40:19) Ryan and Ian’s Peyote experiences. (48:05) How these experiences guided Ian on who he is today. (54:35) Why music feels different while on and after a psychedelic experience. (1:00:43) Where you can find Ian!(1:01:32)  Ian’s last piece of advice for listeners!Join the Highly Optimized Ceremony Circle on Facebook! https://www.highlyoptimized.me This episode was produced by Mazel Tov Media in Quincy, Massachusetts.https://www.highlyoptimized.com @therealryansprague

Episode 76: The Path To Making Our Entire Lives Resemble A Psychedelic Experience (feat. Christopher August)

I imagine all of you listening have heard me refer to the idea of life itself being a psychedelic experience before, however, one of the easiest ways to turn our every day, sober realities into one that is synonymous with the essence & energy we feel within these experiences is by practicing the ancient art form of breathwork. For me, when I began this practice, it completely revolutionized not only my day to day life, but also my experiences with plant medicines & psychedelics alike when I included this practice into those experiences. Stopping by the show today to share his energy, wisdom & experience with us is a gentleman who has made it his life’s mission to be the change that the world of masculinity is so desperately craving right now through his “Masculine Mastery” platform, where he leads men in reconnecting with their authentic selves & power through workshops, retreats, masterminds & immersions, along with the podcast he has created to continue reaching the world of men at large. Along with this, he is also an extremely skilled breathwork practitioner that has co-created his very own breathwork practice called Sonic Breathwork that is designed to guide his clients into feeling more alive, connected & free. In doing so, he has paired his love for music & breathwork together in his “Beats & Breath” endeavor that is designed to provide a full somatic experience that allows for rapid processing & healing in the minds, bodies & spirits of those he serves & if all of that wasn’t enough, he is also a very skilled speaker & in this episode, we will be exploring his call to enter the psychedelic space, his views on breathwork as a tool to enter the psychedelic space without any medicines needed, what his tips are for men out there who are looking to maximize their potential with these medicines & much, much more.Show Notes:(3:36)  What originally got Christopher into plant medicine?(9:31) Christopher’s first experience that shifted his perspective on plant medicines.(16:04) Christopher’s most pure feelings about plant medicines.(17:12) Check out FreedomBuilderz.com! (27:16) A reason to love cannabis…(31:49) Christopher’s experience with ayahuasca. (46:19) Using breath work as a psychedelic.(1:02:24) Where you can reach Christopher.(1:04:21) Christopher’s final piece of advice!Join the Highly Optimized Ceremony Circle on Facebook! https://www.highlyoptimized.me This episode was produced by Mazel Tov Media in Quincy, Massachusetts.https://www.highlyoptimized.com @therealryansprague

Episode 75: Moving Through The Process Of Unlearning & Creating Space (feat. Cal Callahan)

One of the most profound things that psychedelics & plant medicines have illuminated for me is the importance of questioning everything I think I know. The art of questioning is something that I feel is an innate human quality as it is from questioning what we think we know that we are able to dig deeper into our experience of life, consciously choose what we want to believe about life as individuals & as a result, become individuated & sovereign in nature. Todays guest on the show is an individual who has made it his life’s work to cyclically unlearn what he has learned throughout his experience of life in order to discover more hues in the color wheel of his life & continue approaching life from the mind of a child, full of curiosity, wonder & imagination. He is the host of “The Great Unlearn” podcast, which dives into the eternal mystery of what we think we know & aims to guide those looking to increase their quality of life in realizing that it is by unlearning, rather than learning, that we can connect deeper with the essence of our souls, follow our hearts & unlearn our way into a totally new state of being. In addition, he is also the author of “She Becomes”, which he wrote as a dads guide to help fellow dads connect deeper with their daughters. Trust me when I say that this episode is going to dive deep into some very curiosity provoking subjects & is sure to ignite the fire within each of you question askers to deepen your bond with the unknown & find the liberation within the notion that it is not what we know that matters, but rather how much we can find solace in the eternal mystery of the unknown that will allow us to find peace within our experience of life.Show Notes:(2:32) Cal joins the show!(6:59) How Cal first got into plant medicine.(15:16) Cal finally realized, he was tired… and what rest did for him.(22:23) Learning from the Devine masculine.(26:32) Check out FreedomBuilderz.com! (30:44) Having one inspired action per day.(44:10)  We’re human beings, not human doings!(52:10) Clearing things out to reflect.(1:16:38) Where you can reach Cal.(1:17:23) One final Question for Cal!Join the Highly Optimized Ceremony Circle on Facebook! https://www.highlyoptimized.me This episode was produced by Mazel Tov Media in Quincy, Massachusetts.https://www.mazeltm.com/totophttps://www.highlyoptimized.com @therealryansprague

Episode 74: Exploring Shamanism & The Path Of A Maestro (feat. Hamilton Souther)

With the ever growing popularity within the plant medicine & psychedelic space, it is imperative that we as individuals who are looking to connect with these medicines do so with the proper guidance & protection. The same way that if you are looking to become a doctor, you must go through an immense amount of schooling & training to ensure you are fit for that service, the same goes within these spaces & I feel it is more important than ever that we ensure that we are learning from these wise elders in the traditions that have been passed down surrounding these medicines for thousands of years to ensure we are safe & protected in these realms. Stopping by the show today to share his immense amount of knowledge, wisdom & experience with each of you today is a man who I not only admire & respect deeply, but is also someone who I feel is bridging the gap between the worlds of plant medicines, psychedelics & spirituality with the world we live in each day. For me, this is something that shows me someone is not only extremely advanced in these realms, but also that they are grounded & able to meet people where they’re at in order for them to feel safe in these spaces & receive maximum benefit from these experiences after they have concluded through integration practices. He is a master shaman & the founder of “Blue Morpho” which is a center dedicated to providing safe, professional plant medicine retreats consisting primarily of Ayahuasca experiences. In addition, he is also a visionary leader, speaker & author & is the co founder of “Fullstock”, “Landslide” & “Liquidearth” & in this episode, we will be exploring his intro to becoming a shaman, what being a shaman has taught him about life, what some of his most profound experiences within the medicine space have been & whatever else the divine wills into action in this incredible heart flow we are embarking upon today.Show Notes:(3:19) How Hamilton first got into plant medicine.(7:18) Near death experiences and what it can teach you.(12:24) Some advice when it comes to shamanism.(16:22) Check out FreedomBuilderz.com! (18:29) Ryan’s advice for men.(20:59) Remembering and honoring our past.(24:40) Opening up to the cosmic yes.(41:14) Getting the call to train and how that process goes.(57:54) Where you can reach Hamilton.(59:04) Hamilton’s final piece of advice for the listeners!Join the Highly Optimized Ceremony Circle on Facebook! https://www.highlyoptimized.me This episode was produced by Mazel Tov Media in Quincy, Massachusetts.https://www.highlyoptimized.com @therealryansprague
